Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 487 - 488: Gu Anxi, can you be a good person?
In the middle of the day, Gu Anxi and Chu Yan were sunbathing together on a bench and engaging in idle chatter. Chu Yan had been looking particularly radiant lately, and as someone who had been there before, Gu Anxi knew exactly why.
When they sat down for their meal, Gu Anxi, sprawling with her long limbs, couldn’t help but tease Chu Yan. She turned her head towards Chu Yan with a mischievous glint in her eye and asked, "Chu Ci’s physique is pretty great, isn’t it?"
Chu Yan: ...
She had no response for that comment.
Gu Anxi chuckled, motioning for Chu Yan to look at the campus heartthrob and his pet. "Look at them. They’ve been at it all semester, and they’re still the same."
Chu Yan lowered her head, her ears growing hot.
Gu Anxi relished her successful teasing, grinning as she continued to sunbathe.
In the afternoon, once school was over, Wang Jingchuan personally came to pick Gu Anxi up. He said the Old Madam wanted to see her, and King Jingyao, not trusting her to drive, had sent him to fetch her.
After a bit of thought, Gu Anxi agreed and gave Bo Xichen a call to inform him about the visit to the Old Madam’s place.
Uncle Bo readily agreed.
Once the call ended, Gu Anxi got in the car. The Secretary-General sat next to her, asking with a meaningful smile, "Doctor Gu, you seem to be quite afraid of Professor Bo."
Gu Anxi hummed. "He did say that a teacher for a day is a father for life."
The Secretary-General laughed. "Professor Bo does have a knack for knowing the sensitivities of situations in private."
Gu Anxi didn’t reply. Instead, she simply played games on her phone. The Secretary-General tried to engage her in conversation, but she didn’t respond much.
What a sly little fox, thought the Secretary-General.
The car drove smoothly, and by the time they reached the Old Madam’s villa, it was dusk. The Secretary-General opened the car door for her. "Doctor Gu, we’re here."
Without looking up from her game, she simply responded, "Oh," and got out of the car.
As soon as she got out, she was startled. "Why are you standing here?"
King Jingyao snatched her phone. "No playing games while walking," he said, and pocketed her phone before leading the way.
Following behind him, Gu Anxi protested, "I only had one minute left."
He was obviously not open to negotiation, so she let it go and followed him. In the hall, the Old Madam was overseeing the preparation of dinner, and the Old Man was sitting on the sofa, eagerly awaiting their arrival.
With his casual beige outfit, King Jingyao looked dashing. He took Gu Anxi to cheer up the Old Man, just like one would do with a child.
The Old Man perked up the moment he saw Gu Anxi arrive, suddenly full of vigor. They immediately launched into a fierce round of bickering, and Gu Anxi didn’t yield an inch.
Back and forth they went.
The Old Madam felt a headache coming on.
King Jingyao paid the bickering pair no mind, moving to another side to handle his own affairs. The Secretary-General, however, didn’t leave and stayed with him, occasionally offering small suggestions.
After getting the better of the Old Man, Gu Anxi moved over to King Jingyao. "What are you looking at?"
The Secretary-General smiled and said, "Our Beicheng is planning to build the largest opera house in all of Asia. King Jingyao is taking it very seriously and personally selecting the designer."
Gu Anxi simply responded, "Oh."
The Secretary-General continued, "We have considered several famous designers, but they always seem to lack something."
At that moment, King Jingyao closed his laptop. "I favor this Italian architect named KO, but he only has a single work to his name. Finding him is going to be quite challenging."
The Secretary-General, upon hearing this, replied, "I have friends in Italy. I’ll try my best to find him."
Gu Anxi spoke slowly, "What if... *she’s* just dabbling in it and has no intention of taking on any more projects?"
King Jingyao tugged on her hair. "What do you know, silly kid!"
Gu Anxi pulled her hair free and gave him a look.
King Jingyao chuckled and stood up. "Alright, time for dinner."
Gu Anxi muttered under her breath, "How could I not understand?"
The high-ranking figure pulled out a chair for her. "Oh, so you understand? Why don’t you draw a design and show me then?"
The Old Madam brought over a bowl of rice. "Jingyao, you’re the older brother; stop bullying her."
King Jingyao chuckled. "Grandma, you’re biased. I wouldn’t dare bully her. She’s the one who bullies me. If you don’t believe me, ask Jingchuan."
The Secretary-General, standing to the side, simply smiled, not intervening.
Gu Anxi took a mouthful of rice. "He says I don’t know anything."
Her brother laughed in exasperation. "Gu Anxi, can you act like a normal person for once?"
She stuck her tongue out at him playfully. The high-ranking figure was about to say something more, but then decided against it, only offering a faint smile.
