Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 673 - 274: This is my kid, their shining moment 2
King Jingyao’s office.
The elder brother, who was at his wits’ end, visibly brightened when he saw Bo Nianyao. "You’re here."
He rubbed his head and sat down on the sofa, gesturing for Bo Nianyao to make himself comfortable. Although he was known as Anxi’s elder brother, he was actually of the same generation as Bo Nianyao, and they usually enjoyed chatting about similar things.
Bo Nianyao sat down. Just as Wang Jingchuan was about to speak, the elder brother cut him short. "Go pour some tea."
The Secretary General looked rather aggrieved; he wasn’t allowed to speak at such crucial moments.
Nevertheless, he quickly fetched the tea and then hovered nearby, staring intently at Bo Nianyao.
Bo Nianyao took a sip of tea and praised, "This tea is truly excellent."
King Jingyao, being a sharp man, noticed Bo Nianyao’s good mood. Realizing this surely meant good news, he leaned in, his manner intimate, and asked eagerly, "Nianyao, what news do you have?"
Bo Nianyao set down his teacup and then said calmly, "You can set aside your worries now."
"How so?" King Jingyao pressed, leaning in even closer.
Wang Jingchuan wanted to remind him that they were almost touching. He thought about it for a moment but decided against it.
Bo Nianyao leaned back slightly before recounting what had happened.
After he finished speaking, he looked directly at King Jingyao. King Jingyao was rubbing his hands in excitement. "She actually has such skill!"
He stood up and paced back and forth a few times. "In that case, we won’t be so passive anymore!"
He then went over and grasped Bo Nianyao’s hands. "Nianyao, you don’t know how worried I was. If Bo Qing had succeeded tonight, the people of Beicheng would have been terrified. That truly would have made things difficult. Even if the Bo family could hold on, Bo Qing would surely have found other ways. Now, at least we can stall for a bit."
Wang Jingchuan chimed in from the side, "So, isn’t the problem solved now?"
King Jingyao laughed and chided him, "Where is it as easy as you think? Do you take their technical people for idiots? Just because we could break in once doesn’t mean we can do it again."
Wang Jingchuan said, "Oh," and then quickly added some flattery, "But this time was already remarkable."
The elder brother’s voice was filled with passion. "Originally, Bo Qing wanted to catch me off guard, so all of Beicheng would witness me at a disadvantage. This time, we’re going to catch *her* off guard!"
Wang Jingchuan, knowing exactly what he meant, clenched his fists. "Fantastic!"
King Jingyao glanced at him. "Go on, go on. All you know is how to flatter. If you were even one-tenth as capable as Anxi, I’d die laughing."
The Secretary General scratched his head and said playfully, "You’d probably be satisfied with me if I were even one percent as capable."
King Jingyao gave him a light tap. "When it comes to spouting pleasantries, you’re certainly first-class."
The Secretary General laughed, and Bo Nianyao joined in.
The elder brother glanced at the time, then rose and gathered his documents. "Alright, let’s go have a proper meal. We’ll eat out, my treat."
Wang Jingchuan chimed in again, "Yes, yes, Mr. Bo must be tired from his trip. He really should have a good meal."
Bo Nianyao said modestly, "I’m not the one who worked hard; it was the little one at home. She was busy until the small hours last night and only went to sleep at three."
The elder brother gave a hearty laugh. "She must have been anxiously waiting for Xichen’s call."
He then adopted the air of someone experienced. "Probably misses him to death but is too stubborn to admit it."
Bo Nianyao smiled. "Anxi gets along well with the elders, so she’s not lonely."
The elder brother sighed. "A young girl like her, how does she get along so well with old folks? She doesn’t seem to play with other girls. If she has any companions, it’s an AI. I heard she got Fengxi back, but it doesn’t recognize her. She’s pestering Fengxi every day, trying to get it to acknowledge their ’kinship’."
Bo Nianyao just smiled. "She’s just a child. Of course, she’d be sad if her little playmate was gone."
King Jingyao turned his head to the Secretary General. "You notify the technical department. Whatever technical requirements Little Gu has, tell them to provide full cooperation."
Wang Jingchuan immediately smiled. "Alright."
As the few of them were leaving, they had just opened the door when they ran into Wang Yuan, who was eavesdropping.
The elder brother crossed his arms. "Wang Yuan, what are you doing here?"
Wang Yuan was a bit stunned; he hadn’t expected them to come out so quickly. But he was a sharp fellow and immediately said, "It’s like this, I mentioned that Mr. Bo had arrived, and Mr. Min then said he wanted to invite Mr. Bo for a meal."
King Jingyao smiled. "He has such kind intentions?"
Wang Yuan looked uneasy and glanced at Wang Jingchuan.
Wang Jingchuan, ever astute, said, "Mr. Min has indeed thinned down quite a bit recently. Why don’t we all eat together?"
The elder brother looked at Bo Nianyao. "I didn’t bring my wallet. Did you?"
Bo Nianyao looked surprised. "I didn’t bring mine either!"
The elder brother looked at Wang Yuan. "Tell Min Xin not to forget his wallet."
Wang Yuan was dumbstruck. Meanwhile, King Jingyao and Bo Nianyao were already discussing which restaurant was tasty, which was the most expensive, and which one could make Min Xin’s wallet bleed profusely...
