Zhou Yu was somewhat hesitant.

After a pause, she finally said, "Alright then."

The driver, an old hand on Min Xin’s side, quickly read the situation. He opened the car door, and Min Xin delicately helped Zhou Yu into the car, sitting down beside her.

Wang Yuan fanned himself, "Sir, I’ll wait for the driver to fix the car."

Min Xin pondered briefly. "Okay."

Wang Yuan immediately jogged to another car, getting in to enjoy the air conditioning. The driver turned his head. "Secretary Wang, what now?"

Wang Yuan chuckled. "We’ll leave once Mr. Min’s car departs. We can’t let the lady realize we’ve tricked her, can we?"

He looked very experienced. "Women are hard to please."

The driver understood. "Yes, especially beautiful women like the madam."

Wang Yuan gave him a look. "You seem to know a lot."

The driver touched his head, responding with a simple, sincere laugh.

Meanwhile, Min Xin sat contentedly next to Zhou Yu, crowding her somewhat.

Zhou Yu could not help but shift aside. Min Xin promptly grabbed her hand. "Are you cold?"

She shook her head.

Yet he said, "Why are your hands so cold?"

He covered her with a thin jacket he had nearby, looking straight at her. "Feeling better now?"

Zhou Yu turned her face away. "A little better."

Her gentle and weak demeanor only emboldened the man, who then became more forward, his hands and feet all over her. He wished he could hold her in his arms and cherish her. Zhou Yu had a hard time dealing with him, finally shrinking to one side. "Min Xin, don’t come any closer."

The driver in front remained perfectly still, eyes fixed forward, pretending not to notice anything. He drove the car slowly, making it easier for his boss to take advantage.

Although Zhou Yu was naive, she now realized Min Xin had tricked her; his car wasn’t broken at all.

She pursed her lips, quite angry but helpless against him, desperately trying to avoid him.

Min Xin, too, hadn’t been close to her for a long time. The last time, at her house, he had been caught by Mother Zhou. So naturally, he was somewhat reckless now, his words even a bit suggestive.

Finally, he actually pulled her into his embrace, holding her in his arms.

Zhou Yu grew angry, turning her face away. "Min Xin, let me go!"

He couldn’t bear to let go. While coaxing her, he tried to get closer. When Zhou Yu grew anxious, she slapped him. He didn’t get angry; even as red marks appeared on his face and his hair was pulled painfully, he still wouldn’t release her.

Finally, Zhou Yu leaned on his shoulder and quietly began to cry.

It wasn’t because he was taking advantage of her, but because of his behavior in the car with the driver present. Did he just see her as a plaything? Did he look down on her so much? Even after their divorce, did he think that just because he’d given her money, he could still treat her however he pleased?

When Zhou Yu cried, Min Xin grew anxious. He said in a hoarse voice, "I was just teasing you. I didn’t really do anything. Why are you crying, hm?"

She turned her face away, her eyes and nose red. He felt both heartache and a stirring in his own heart, but he didn’t dare be reckless again. He coaxed her softly, "Alright, alright. I haven’t seen you in so long. I missed you."

Zhou Yu ignored him, still sniffling softly. Min Xin’s mind was in turmoil.

When they finally arrived at the Zhou family home, he had to let her go. Although she had cried like that, he was still deeply satisfied.
