CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 128: Princess Maxima
Princess Cassandra was waiting patiently for the elements to start talking.
The water and the fire elements were looking at each other as if they were talking with one another in silence.
"Continue." Duke Salvador said as he saw the impatience on Princess Cassandra’s face. Aiden’s voice was low as if he was ready to kill if not listened to.
[Yes.] The water element nodded his head as the cat figure sat in front of the fifth Princess. [You should not judge at any given time Princess. We are risking ourselves to tell you this.]
Princess Cassandra nodded her head as she braced herself. The information she read in the book was a little different from the first diary.
The second book focused on the life of the owner. The sad reality and the struggles she faced when she realized that she could control all the four elements. But it was not limited to it.
The envious gaze, the feeling of not relating to others at times, and the feeling of being left out were deeply entered in the book. First Princess Cassandra could relate to everything that was written. Although the owner of the diary was a Princess and the most powerful she was not treated like one. Her older sister was the one who was getting all the attention because of her unique ability to cast spells. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
But the Princess in the story soon realized that she was not alone as she had friends of her own but there was something that was written on the diary making her question the elements of their true intentions. Cassandra could not believe anyone’s words at all. She knew that she needed to know the whole truth and see for herself before she could come to a conclusion of her own.
[The story started long back when people who could control the elements and magic lived together. Where land was filled with harmony and bliss.]
[Our first owner, Princess Maxima. She was the youngest Princess of that land. Her family was known to be able to use water. It was in their blood to use it and Princess Maxima was also able to manipulate the water as she wished. In that time all humans had an affinity to one element.] The water element said.
The fire element came forward as it continued. [As she was the youngest Princess, she was always ignored because of her older sister. The celebrated witch who was most powerful at that time. Someone who can do magic and also control an element, A very rare trait. She was supposed to inherit their father’s position as the Duke but soon everything changed.]
[The loving pair of sisters were separated. Princess Maxima started experimenting with her powers under closed doors. After all her older sister was feared by all because she could cast spells. Princess Maxima was ignored by the others. But soon she met a fire mage. The man became her friend and soon their love blossomed. But there was only one thing coming in between them.]
[Her eldest sister wanted to marry that fire mage. After all, he was the Duke. So when the eldest sister knew that the man she wanted to marry was in love with her younger sister, her jealousy increased. Her mind was messy and she decided to keep the man for herself by killing her younger sister but things changed when her spell did not work, the powers were consumed by Princess Maxima.]
[Not only that but the Princess then realized that the powers they all had and used as a fraction of the original. She soon realized the concept of crystals but she also knew that she had some empty ones. And when she talked with her lover, Princess Maxima realized that everyone had it but their crystals were filled with different colors, specific to the elemental affinity they possessed.]
Princess Cassandra nodded her head. She had already read about it. It was not something new to her.
[But Princess Maxima was in a dilemma. On one hand, her own sister wanted to harm her and on the other, her crystals were empty. But when she struggled, her lover asked if she could fill the crystals with something else. Maybe Princess Maxima can absorb and so she tried and succeeded. Princess Maxima was becoming powerful.]
[Her elder sister was not very happy. Her younger sister had already had the man she wanted and now she was becoming powerful. The elder sister started to see Princess Maxima as the reason for her decline. She thought maybe the position of the hand would be snatched away from her hand as well so when Princess Maxima was collecting the power to protect herself, her elder sister started a plot to destroy her.]
[A spell was cast unknown to anyone and the fire mage was hypnotized. Princess Maxima’s lover was snatched away from her but she was unaware of it. Princess Maxima thought that the man did not love her at all. She was heartbroken but seeing her lover in her elder sister’s arms broke her soul.]
[When the elder sister saw that her younger sister was at her lowest, she made her move and the powers that Princess Maxima had were snatched. Princess Maxima lost her power and her love.]
[But before she knew it her lover had become the Emperor of the land. The first Emperor of the land. But he never married Princess Maxima’s elder sister even when he was under hypnosis. But Princess Maxima did not know it. Things were complicated, on one hand, the first Emperor made a deal with the elder sister that she will not harm Princess Maxima after getting her powers, and in return, the first Emperor will never visit Princess Maxima.]
There was silence in the room. Only the voices of the elements could be heard in the room. Duke Salvador held Princess Cassandra’s hand. There was a slight difference from what Princess Cassandra had previously seen in her dreams. Cassandra wanted to ask why that was but she could not. The elements had already told them not to ask anything.
Amy on the other hand was thinking about how the first Emperor made a deal. Wasn’t he under hypnosis?
The elements looked at all the three as if understanding their thoughts.
[The first Emperor refused to marry the elder sister because he was removed from hypnosis. True love can break all hurdles. The First Emperor did not want Princess Maxima to suffer so he never married. And as per your thoughts Princess Cassandra, what you saw was half-truth. It could not make you see everything because we are cursed. I hope the Princess does not mind.]
Princess Cassandra nodded her head but she did not speak anything. She wanted to know what happened next. Princess Cassandra felt that the story was related to her life as if it will affect her future to a greater extent.
The elements continued their side of the story soon after. [And many things changed over the years. When the first Emperor was living in the Empire, Princess Maxima was alone with only one element left with her where no one knew existed. The darkness covering the crystals.]
[The darkness that stabilized the crystals was always jealous of the elements. It always felt like it was the superior one that every element needed. But when the witch took the power she did not take the darkness. This action made the darkness have a grudge. He felt that if Princess Maxima had taken itself in the crystals maybe its value would be more.]
[The envy increased overtime after all the darkness was alone, so it infected Princess Maxima’s brain. The darkness made her realize that she needed revenge. Revenge from her lover who had left her alone for the power. Revenge from her elder sister who took everything away from her. Princess Maxima’s heart was filled with darkness and she left to take it.]
[The second part of the diary was written by Princess Maxima when she was struggling. She felt like the elements had betrayed her. Although it was all fed to her by darkness, Princess Maxima felt like it was the truth.]
[So when Princess Maxima searched for her elder sister, she realized that she was nowhere to be found. Princess Maxima soon realized that her elder sister was resting at a mountain. Someplace that the darkness wanted to be. The darkness made the Princess move herself towards it. The Kir Mountain. But Princess Maxima’s heart was still unstable. She wanted to meet her lover first.]
[But the darkness did not want it. The darkness knew that there was only one way to achieve its goal. Only one person can help it so that many people could use it.]
[So it struggled to make Princess Maxima realize that meeting her elder sister first was the only choice. But things didn’t go as planned. The first Emperor came to the Kir mountains to stop Princess Maxima. He did not want Princess Maxima to get hurt but everything from that point on went south.]
