CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 139: Wind
Princess Valeria was in the carriage looking outside.
Her eyes were searching for Duke Salvador who was on a horse with Prince Cedric. But something was not right. Princess Valeria saw a man by the name of Blazh with the Duke.
Princess Valeria knew who Blazh was. He was the leader of the black eagle as well as Duke Salvador’s best friend. Even though the Duke traveled with Blazh, he was always in hiding, following the Duke where no one could see.
But now Duke Salvador asked Blazh to accompany him openly which was a rare occasion. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
’Am I thinking too deeply into it?’ Princess Valeria wondered. Her eyes looked at the steady back of Aiden. A smile played on Princess Valeria’s face as her eyes narrowed.
’I wonder if the Duke will walk near my carriage if I ask him to?’ Princess Valeria’s tongue ran on her lips as her eyes blinked. Princess Valeria wanted to call the Duke just to observe his reaction but she stopped.
Prince Cedric was looking at Princess Valeria as if understanding what was going on in her mind. Prince Cedric smiled as he saw Princess Valeria looking at the Duke.
Cedric knew what Princess Valeria was thinking but he also knew how things were turning complicated. Prince Cedric turned back as he asked Duke Salvador.
"What do you think about Princess Valeria?"
The Duke’s eyes widened before he controlled his emotions. Aiden Salvador had taught him how to answer when critical questions came and Blazh had also given a brief as to what not to say.
"I do not think anything about the first Princess." The man posing as Duke Salvador said in a dull voice as if he was not interested in continuing the topic.
Prince Cedric nodded his head. "And do you think she will be a good leader?"
The man looked at Prince Cedric in confusion. He did not know how to answer this. He looked at Blazh who blinked his eyes twice. It was their secret sign indicating that it was time to give a fixed answer.
The man blinked as he said to the Prince. "I think only time could tell that."
Prince Cedric looked at the Duke in question. The answers he was giving were short and stiff. Although Prince Cedric and Duke Salvador were not best of friends, they still had favorable opinions about one another.
Prince Cedric knew that when talked about political opinions, Duke Salvador’s mind was very clear. He was a man who always knew what he wanted. And when such a man says ’only time will tell.’ it was not sitting well with Prince Cedric.
’Why is it happening?’
’Does Duke Salvador not know what to talk or is he mad that he had to follow Princess Valeria?’
Prince Cedric’s mind was full of questions but he could not ask the Duke these things personally. ’I’ll ask Blazh once we stop someplace for rest.’

Princess Cassandra came back to the Vivere Kingdom’s palace from her trip. After saying her goodbyes to everyone else the first thing that she did was go and lie on the bed.
Princess Cassandra took deep breaths as Amy entered trying to adjust the flower that they had collected on their trip in the vase.
"The flowers that grow in the Vivere Kingdom are so different from those we see in the Elvira Empire," Amy said as she looked out where a guard stood outside the room.
Princess Cassandra followed Amy’s gaze as she smiled. "Yes, Princess Teimei said it was because they have good land and fresh air here."
"Hmm.." Amy took a flower from the vase as she gave it to the fifth Princess. "This flower has a beautiful fragrance."
Princess Cassandra smiled as she took the flower but soon she yawned. "Amy, traveling makes me tired. Can you prepare water for my bath? I’d like to sleep."
Amy nodded. "Yes, Princess."
Amy left the room as she closed the door tightly. The guard that was outside also moved a few steps back as he stared at Princess Cassandra’s lady in waiting.
"Do you need anything?" Amy asked the guard as she tilted her head in confusion.
The guard did not reply but simply shook his head.
"If not then please do not stand here. The Princess does not like being watched." Amy looked straight into the guard’s eyes as she continued. "No one was stationed here before so why are you here suddenly? Princess Cassandra is very sensitive to the people around her."
The guard did not know how to reply. No one told him to be here but when he heard that no one was looking after the Elvira Empire’s Princess’s room, he decided to take the position and stand outside the guard. He was hoping to get some information that he could tell the Prince or Princess in exchange for a reward. But who would have known that the Princess of Elvira Empire asked people to not stand outside her room?
The guard felt embarrassed as he walked out without looking back. Amy, who stood there, looked at the man with a smile.
Amy knew that the guard was not stationed here by the Prince or the Princess. She could tell that much by looking at his body language. Amy, who had mastered the tactics of survival in the Elvira Empire over the years, knew what she had to say to get the results.
’The key is in confidence.’
’And that will even make my lie sound like the truth.’
Amy smiled as she walked towards her goal. ’I need to gather information. I need to know what the royal’s plans are next.’
Amy’s thoughts were clear. All she could see was her goal in front of her eyes. She walked towards the kitchen where she found the source of all the gossip.

Princess Cassandra sat in her room in quietness. Her eyes were closed as she entered the space of her soul. The crystals that were once blank were filled with wind. And now only a few crystals remained.
’It must be for watch and darkness.’ Princess Cassandra thought as she watched towards the wind crystals.
Princess Cassandra could see the wind moving in the crystal vigorously as if trying to break it and come out.
’Do hate to be caged?’ Princess Cassandra asked as she extended her fingers towards the crystals. ’Let me help you to come out.’
Princess Cassandra did not know if it would work or not but she was hoping that the thing she was about to do would work. Princess Cassandra touched the crystal and all the wind concentrated on the point of contact.
Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened as she moved her finger back from the crystal and the wind moved out from the crystal as it took the form of a small cat.
The wind element looked at its form as if irritated. It tried to move around but its tail was always getting in between. It looked up but could only see the fire and water trapped in the crystals.
’Why aren’t you coming out?’ The wind element asked but the other two elements in the crystal did not reply.
Princess Cassandra saw the cat beside her legs as she smiled. ’They are under the curse.’
The wind element looked at the fifth Princess as it asked, ’Did they tell you the story.’
Princess Cassandra nodded as she sat down beside the wind element. ’Do you know how to break their curse?’
The wind element was in deep thoughts. It blinked its eyes a few times as it rubbed its nose. Princess Cassandra could tell that it was getting irritated because it was in the form of a cat.
’There is a way.’ The wind element said as it looked at the fifth Princess. ’When you absorb all the elements you can try to expand your powers. When you expand and all the crystals are filled the curse will break.’
Princess Cassandra smiled as she tried to touch its head. She did not know what the wind element was talking about but she was sure that the other elements did not tell her this.
’But the others did not say anything regarding this?’ Princess Cassandra asked her doubt.
’That is because it is risky. The chances of it working are very less but the changes are still there.’ The wind element said as it looked down.
Princess Cassandra smiled. ’So you are not cursed because you did not tell me anything, right?’
The wind element in the form of a cat nodded its head. ’Yes,’
Princess Cassandra nodded her head. She got up as she said. ’I hope you will guide me till the time I absorb the other elements.’
The wind element looked at Princess Cassandra as it blinked. Even though it did not reply, Princess Cassandra knew that it would help her. After all, they were interdependent on one another.
Princess Cassandra smiled as she took a deep breath. Soon she came out of the space and opened her eyes. Her gaze was still blurry but a refreshment was excluding her soul.
’I should practice the elements.’ was the thought in Princess Cassandra’s mind.
