CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 171: Sinking

Princess Elvira was enjoying herself.

The circular protection was making everyone else confused. Princess Elvira smiled as she closed her eyes to concentrate. The deal has already been made.

The royal siblings were ready to give their power. They had given their consent. And if the deal is broken from their end, Princess Elvira could still pull out the energy from them. Not only them but from everyone else, for that matter. After all, the original deal was made by the darkness who then resided in the Vivere Kingdom’s people.

Princess Elvira raised her hands. Her fingers tangled as she pulled the fingers towards herself. She could feel the darkness traveling through space. The power was intense. Princess Elvira felt the energy flow within her body. Her aura was getting stronger.

Princess Elvira started feeling a little weird. She also knew that it was not a pure source of energy. Although she is consuming the darkness but because she is not forming a link and extracting it directly, it will not be enough for her powers. But now Princess Elvira did not care. She had only one mission, to stabilize her aura and finish the elements off.

The tigers could sense the difference. It was the darkness element that said. "We need to stop her. I can feel that she is pulling out the elements from the Vivere Kingdom’s people."

Princess Cassandra looked at everyone else. No one spoke but they all knew it in their hearts.

[Help us.] Princess Cassandra said to the tigers. The element nodded as it moved its tail and its ears and soon everyone was in the air. Prince Cedric was used to it because he was the wind mage, but everyone else was not.

They had a difficult time balancing themselves but soon everyone got a hold of it. "Let’s attack." Princess Cassandra said as they all moved towards Princess Elvira.

Duke Salvador hit the protective layer with the fireball but the layer formed a dark pattern blocking it. "It’s because of darkness that the witch’s aura has stabilized." The darkness element said.

Princess Cassandra’s eyes narrowed. She closed her sight as she formed a link with everyone else around her. Cassandra decided to talk through her thoughts.

[Listen to me and follow the instructions.] Princess Cassandra took the lead for the first time. She would be the one giving instructions from now on and she hoped that everyone else would listen to her.

Blazh and Prince Cedric’s eyes widened. But Cassandra’s voice could still be heard in their mind. [I could see that the aura was moving towards the point where the fire had hit.]

Princess Cassandra told Lord Bentham [Lord, you attack.]

Lord Bentham attacked with a beam of darkness as it hit hard on the aura. The protective layer moved towards it.

With this, they all understood the situation. Blazh looked at the fifth Princess with admiration. He knew that she could read thoughts but he never knew that she would be so powerful in the future.

Prince Cedric was confused. If it was in the past he would not have believed it. How can one communicate through thoughts? But now he had seen so much of her, that Cedric believed that the unfavored and powerless Princess could do it all.

Princess Cassandra moved her hands up and the hard piece of rock attacked the aura. As she had predicted, nothing happened to the witch or the protective layer. The witch was still absorbing the darkness.

Princess Cassandra’s eyes turned sharp as she said to everyone in an imposing tone. [When one attacks, the aura moves. It’s not stabilized in one place. It redistributes itself throughout the spear, so if someone is to attack at one point it will move there so that it could give protection to its owner.]

"It’s a common strategy." Duke Salvador said. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Princess Cassandra nodded her head. [So if people attack from every side, it should be confused. It would try to protect everything around its owner as its defenses will lose. So let’s distribute ourselves and attack at the same time. We do not have time to make a mistake.]

Princess Cassandra looked at the witch as she continued. [She should not absorb the darkness completely. The darkness is stabilizing her aura. The more she absorbs, the stronger her protection will be. If that happens then it would be impossible to defend her.]

Everyone along with the tigers formed a circle around the protective layer.

Princess Elvira looked around her. She could see the people and the elements together. She rolled her eyes as she smiled. She had her things to do and had no time to play with them.

Princess Cassandra said in a serious tone. She did not want the witch to listen to their strategy, that was the reason she was communicating through thoughts. [Duke Salvatore will use a fire element, Blazh you use the water, Lord Bentham you should use the darkness, I will use the Earth element and Prince Cedric use the wind element. The tigers should use their own powers. Make sure that the attack is perfect. It should be enough to destroy everything. We cannot make any mistakes. This is the last chance to save ourselves and to save everyone else.]

Princess Cassandra’s words were filled with authority. Everyone’s eyes narrowed.

Princess Cassandra wanted to take revenge for Amy’s death. No matter what happened, she could not get over it. She wanted closure. Something that she could only get when the witch dies.

Everyone moved their hands to stabilize themselves as they concentrated all their power into one. Even if they ran out of power, everyone was determined to give their best. After all, it was now or never.

Princess Cassandra swallowed as she narrowed her eyes. [On the count of three. One two three] As soon as they heard Princess Cassandra’s voice a huge ray of elements moved forward from their body. Everyone attacked at the same time.

Princess Elvira smiled. She did not know why they were trying so hard? Princess Elvira closed her eyes to concentrate and in the darkness cut her off from the surrounding noises.

The aura was moving everywhere around the witch, trying to protect her. But the power from everywhere else was too high. No matter how hard it tried, it could not maintain the flow. So trying to be everywhere else made the layer thinner. The protection was about to collapse and the aura was still trying to absorb the darkness.

As the aura was confused a huge opening formed. And as soon as the aura tried to close the opening, everything else that it had created around Princess

Elvira, as protection, collapsed.

The witch was exposed and the aura was destroyed. It scattered in the surrounding, as it vanished like a vapor. The attack did not stop, but the target of the attack was no longer the layer but the person inside it.

Princess Elvira did not know what was happening. Suddenly she felt a deep pain in her heart and just like that, she knew that something might have happened to her powers. But before she could open her eyes or understand anything, all the elements ran into her.

"AHH AAH .." Princess Elvira shouted in pain. Her eyes opened and she looked around her. All she could see was the bright light and nothing else. The witch knew that her layer of protection was destroyed. She tried to call her powers but her magic could not be cultivated. She couldn’t take it up from the surroundings.

Because there was too much elemental power around her, Elvira’s mind was in a huge mess. She cannot constrain the power in her.

Princess Elvira tried hard. She was a witch, she could just take the powers and manipulate them, but her body had no time to react. Her magic was blocked.

As the attack did not stop, and soon an image formed in front of Princess Elvira’s eyes had almost been wiped out from her memories. If she was not mistaken this is how her sister, Princess Maxima died when she absorbed all the elements.

Princess Elvira thought that she was going to explode too. The power was just too much for her; she could not understand that even if she tried to cultivate her power, it was useless. It felt like the element had blocked her from taking anything from them anymore.

The burning in her body increased. She could feel her own aura hurting her. Princess Elvira did not know why this was happening. But soon she realized that her attack had not reached its target, maybe it was retribution.

Princess Elvira tried to push her powers out to save herself but because of the elemental power, it could not and that affected her body. She was dying from inside. The elements and her own power struggle within her, making it harder for her to keep her soul intact.

Princess Elvira tried to concentrate but her own magical power exploded due to the amount of darkness it had accumulated. There was no way out. She had no time to think. The darkness reacted within her body. It was not a pure form thus it started eating up her soul.

"AHHHH...." Princess Elvira shouted before her lifeless body hit the ground like something heavy that was sinking to the bottom of the lake.
