Chapter 149: Chapter 149: Psycho Break

"Here. I brought some clothes for you." Selina took out some clothes she had prepared for Aurora from her backpack.

The goth girl dressed Aurora carefully. The top was a white silk blouse with an open collar and loose drapes. The collar revealed her neckline and the alluring top of her chest.

The bottom was a contrasting black pants with wide hem. Selina put a bowtie on Aurora. A small black bowtie that went directly around her neck. It sat on the skin and made her even more seductive than she already was.

"And now. For a final touch."

Selina put a pair of blue sunglasses on Aurora, completing the ice queen look.

Aurora adjusted her glasses and looked in the mirror. "I look beautiful."

"You sure are." Mater clapped his hands repeatedly. Originally, he liked Selina. There was a danger within her. But now, he might like both of them equally.

Selina pushed Mater’s jaw close. "You dirty cat. You’re drooling all over."

"I’m a dirty cat alright. Hehe." Mater snickered lowly.

After that, they went to the cemetery to pick up Crow. Selina went on the motorcycle and rode away. Aurora sat beside her. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

Aurora’s antlers were hidden away with Mater’s Minor Distortion.

When they arrived at the cemetery, there was a funeral there. The people wore all black attires. Some were crying. Some were mourning. And some were silent.

The group walked past them. A few men looked up and were enamored by the beauty of Selina and Aurora. But they quickly looked away and continued comforting their loved ones.

The three of them walked inside the crypt. Some people at the funeral recognized it.

"Isn’t that Cage’s tomb?"

Inside the crypt, the dark tree pulsed purple light. The light of Nether.

Crow lifted his head up. He stood up and detached himself from the tree.

Crow grabbed his fedora and put it on his head. His aura had changed even more. It had that danger of the unknown darkness. But also conviction. Utter impenetrable conviction that made everyone feel reassured.

The Abyssal Abomination knelt on the floor.

"Master..." Crow said.

Mater jumped onto his shoulder, "Oh! You look good as well. How are you feeling?"

"Stronger... Much stronger, Master." Crow said with his usual harsh tone.

"Did you absorb more mental energy from Aaron Cage?"

Crow nodded, "I did, Master. I saw many of his past cases. Life and death situations. The things he did for those he would never meet.

And from them, I was able to learn something."

"Your abilities changed?" The black cat meowed.

Crow nodded.

"Show me."

"Psycho Break? This ability feels like the power of a Psychic." Mater stroked his whiskers in deep thought.

Crow jumped out of the Dark Grimoire after.

"You are correct, Master. This Psycho Break ability is one of Aaron Cage’s expertise. I learned it from him."

"And the Nether Energy reinforced it?" The black cat meowed.

Crow nodded.

The black cat shared a wide grin. "You are starting to become an actual horrified abomination, Crow.

Selina might be able to learn Psycho Break as well."

"I can?" Selina pointed at herself.

"Probably. It is a Psychic Ability after all. But just focus on practicing the first three skills first. Once you master them. Crow can teach you."

They left the crypt with Crow. The funeral had ended and the people disappeared. The sky was gray and the wind was howling. Rain was coming.

Crow lifted his head up and felt the cold rain drop on his face.

Selina grabbed Mater. She and Aurora quickly ran away to hide from the rain.

"Quick, Mater! We can’t let you get wet!" Selina said worryingly.

Mater’s mouth twitched a little. He lifted his paw up high and materialized the Elemental Shield. A water shield appeared on top of their head and pulled all the water inside. It kept the rain from pouring down to them.

Crow’s white eyes fluttered looking into the gray sky. He wondered who he actually was.

Was he Crow, Master’s faithful servant?

Was he Aaron Cage, the Platinum Hunter that was betrayed?

Or was he the poor student that was killed by his classmate?

"Who am I really?" Crow mumbled.

The group stopped in their tracks and looked over to Crow.

Mater didn’t interfere and let Crow internalize his thoughts. To reach a higher realm of power, he needed to unlock his locks. Sooner or later, he would have to face it.

Crow turned to Mater, "Who am I, Master?"

"You are who you want to be, Crow." The black cat’s deep voice echoed.

"But I can’t be Aaron Cage. He’s someone else."

"Who said you can’t? The only obstacle is yourself. You can be Aaron Cage if you want. But you will have to bear the weight of him.

A friend once told me that everything has a price. You receive many things from Aaron Cage, Crow. It’s only natural that you take his place and finish what he left behind."

"I understand. Thank you for guiding me, Master."

"Don’t worry, Crow. Anything can happen. But I will always be there to lead you. That is who I am."
