CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 184: Jack-pot
’How the hell is this an easy mission?!’ Assassin thought to himself.
Several ice pillars shot up around him. They blocked his path but couldn’t catch him.
Bash rushed over to the area but wasn’t able to come in contact with Assassin as well.
Mater shot a few Nether Spheres here and there but wasn’t able to hit him as well.
"Tch. We won’t be able to catch him unless he uses a Psychic Skill."
Mater’s eyes flashed red repeatedly but couldn’t pinpoint Assassin.
"What should we do, Master?" Aurora said.
"Unleash your true form. He can be invisible. He can hide his presence. But the snowstorm will still reveal him." The black cat growled.
It jumped onto the ground and turned to a black jaguar. The jaguar transformed into a spike ball and rushed to Assassin’s direction.
Aurora slipped the dress off her. She jumped into the air and transformed into the Glacial Elk in mid-air. The snow sphere in between of her antlers screamed.
A snowstorm engulfed the 30-meter area around Aurora.
Assassin wasn’t able to get away quick enough. The snow covered him and outlined his silhouette.
’Shit!’ Assassin screamed internally.
A rope dart shot out of a device on his wrist, pulling him away from the snowstorm. However, it was already too late.
Black chains shot out from the shadow and wrapped around Assassin.
Assassin took out two black daggers. Psycho Force reinforced his weapons and he was able to break free from the chains after half a second.
"Oh? An upgraded form of Chaos Flesh?"
Chaos Flesh could reinforce your own body but couldn’t reinforce other objects. The skill Assassin just used was similar to Chaos Flesh but it could be extended to his weapons as well.
The black jaguar slammed onto Assassin. Its spikes plunged into him. But his skin was as hard as steel and wasn’t easily penetrated.
"Another ability? This one is much more competent than Diver or Titan."
Diver was pure arrogant with nothing to back him up. Titan was strong for a rank-1 Chaos User but he didn’t seem that special. Assassin was different. The man had many skills in his sleeves.
The ability to turn invisible and limited his Chaos presence.
The upgraded Chaos Flesh Skill.
And his body was also enhanced as well.
This man worked hard for his power.
Assassin joined his two daggers into a double edged knife. He spun the knife, causing a shockwave to push Mater away from him.
A pillar of clear ice shot out from the ground and encapsulated Assassin.
"Don’t kill him, Aurora!" Mater communicated telepathically.
"Yes, Master!"
Aurora placed her hands on the ground. Glacial Lances shot out from within the Glacial Coffin. However the lances only penetrated Assassin’s limps and not his vital organs.
Assassin grunted painfully. His muscles were fueled with his Psycho Force. He was able to break a Glacial Lance on his right arm.
Crow revealed himself and pulled his goggles down. His white eyes stared directly into Assassin’s eyes.
"Look into my eyes..." Crow’s voice echoed like a haunted ghost.
Nether Psycho Break, an ability that Crow didn’t have that much opportunity to use. It was a spell that could drive enemies into the Terror state and neutralize them.
Assassin tried to look away but it was too late.
Crow’s white eyes showed him his deepest fear. He squirmed in place and growled like a wild beast.
"You can turn back, Aurora." Mater said as he returned to his cat form.
Aurora nodded and shrunk back to her human form.
The Glacial Coffin disappeared but it was no longer needed. Assassin fell to the floor while holding his head.
He squirmed on the ground like nails were digging into his skull.
Crow had applied the Terror state on Assassin and he could damage Assassin remotely with Nether at any time.
"Interrogate him, Crow." Mater said.
Crow nodded. The Abomination dragged Assassin into a corner and tried to fish information out of him.
Unfortunately, that was not possible.
"Master... This man is mute."
The black cat wiped his face. "I should have known it wouldn’t be easy. Try to find if he has any digital device on him."
Crow looted Assassin. The man had an earpiece on him, several gadgets and melee weapons. Then Crow found it, a small device used for communication. It was the source that connected the earpiece to whoever he was speaking with.
"Give me that."
The black cat grabbed the device and flooded his Chaos into it. It connected straight to the main server of the Atlas Seven, allowing Mater to access their internal system and database.
"Another holy library? Better put a backdoor inside."
The black cat did the same thing he had done with the ACPD Database and the Zakharovs Database. He made a remote backdoor that he could use to infiltrate into their system at any time.
Mater quickly found out about the exchange between the Atlas Seven and the Von Schattenberg Group.
"Oh? This place belongs to the Von Schattenbergs. They share the same last name as the kid who killed Lee Baek-un. How fun!"
The black cat licked its lips. He now knew that this place was important enough for the Von Schattenbergs to seek help. However with the Union outside surveilling the area, the Von Schattenbergs couldn’t just walk inside. They needed someone with expert infiltration skills. Someone that could hide from the eyes of the Union.
They picked Assassin.
Alongside with that information, Mater was also able to find out what ability Assassin was using.
Enhancement Augmentation. This skill was ranked as ’Psionic’, not Psychic Skill. It was similar to Chaos Flesh but was able to extend the enhancement to objects outside the body.
Dampening Static Field. The ability that Assassin used to hide himself and his Chaos Well. There was a weaker version called Dampening Optical Field that was similar to Crow’s invisibility and couldn’t limit the presence of the user. Both of these skills were Psionics.
Last was Adaptive Physique. A Psionic that used repetitive training to slowly raise the durability and strength of your body.
The black cat rubbed his paws greedily, "Selina! Give me your phone now! We just hit the jack-pot!"
"What did you find, Mr. Mater?!" Selina was as happy as him. Even though she didn’t know what it was.
Mater downloaded the entire library of Atlas Seven’s Psionics into Selina’s phone. It wasn’t that much. Only around 20 Gigabytes of data.
