CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 189: Omnimotion
Once Mater was able to successfully comfort his little sugar baby, the black cat returned to his Dark Grimoire.
Chaos Eyes was upgraded into Octagram Chaos Eyes. It lost its chaos cost but in exchange, made Mater’s eyes to be permanently activated.
He didn’t feel any discomfort. So in the end the black cat decided to ignore it.
"This pair of eyes doesn’t look horrendous to be honest."
The original Octagram only had the irises filled with the color black not the entire eye. This change was possibly because of this world’s influence or the body of the cat. It was Mater’s main theory.
The black cat flipped the leathery book to the page containing the Force Dome.
Mater’s claws extended as he adjusted the painting and flooded more Chaos inside.
Force Dome’s original painting was a light pink dome constructed by large hexagons of kinetic energy.
Hexagons had six pointed vertices. By adding a network of interconnected lines between these six points, Mater reinforced its power and durability. This was accomplished by simply joining the opposite vertices with a single line inside the hexagons.
Once Mater finished, the line lit up in a brighter shade of pink. The painting peeled itself out of the Rank-1 Spells Section and lay down on Rank-2.
[Layered Force Dome]
[Rank]: 2
[Effect]: Choose a location within 30 meters around you, materialize a dome made out of pure kinetic energy. This dome blocked all physical and magical attacks up to 2,000 Rank-2 Chaos Points. The dome can have a maximum diameter of 10-meter. The larger the dome, the weaker the barrier will be. The dome can be stacked on top of each other.
[Chaos Cost]: 400 Points
’Hmm. This one doesn’t have any impressive changes like the last two. Its durability, maximum size, and range are all slightly better than the original. It is a solid defensive spell.’
To test out his new spells, Mater formed a small 5-meter Force Dome in front of him then blasted it with Nether Beam.
Force Dome could withstand destruction equal to 2,000 R-2 Chaos Points. Nether Beam took three beams to dig a hole on its surface. The rest of the Force Dome was still standing still.
Then Mater tried to make Force Dome to stack on top of each other. The stacking was less effective the more barriers there were.
It took Mater five beams to break a double layered Force Dome.
Then only six to break a triple layered Force Dome.
A four times or five times layered didn’t make that much difference and Mater was still able to pierce through it with six beams.
’Tch. Tch. Tch. Nether Beam is the most destructive spell as always. Layered Force Dome is only good for three maybe four stacks. More than that is just stupidity.’ The black cat stroked its whiskers.
Mater then continued to inscribe his last spells.
He still didn’t have any movement spells. He decided against it in the past but he changed his mind. Movement was always useful.
To make a Rank-2 Spell from scratch, a Warlock can either upgrade a Rank-1 Spell or they must do what was called a manifested reality. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Rank-2 Spell had stepped into the realm of breaking physical and metaphysical rules of the world. To actually make it a reality, inscribing a new painting wasn’t just enough. This painting must be special.
There were three movement spells that Mater liked in Rank-2.
Dark Passenger. This made Mater’s entire body to step into abyssal form temporarily, similar to Crow, and allowing Mater to move quicker and phase through walls.
Omnimotion. The weirdest Rank-2 Movement Spell of all. It allowed the user to fly, swim at the same speed as running on the ground. It even allowed the user to walk on the wall if they wanted. And finally, it decreased the weight of the user so much they could float just like in outer space.
Fae Shift. A simple teleportation with a 5-meter effective radius. Learned and copied from the faerie’s original ability with the same name.
"Welp. Fae Shift is always a good choice. Most Warlocks I know take it as second level."
Mater raised his paw and was about to inscribe Fae Shift. The green light in his Demonic Transformation Watch stopped him mid-motion.
"This watch..." The black cat stroked its whiskers in deep thought. Omnimotion was a good ability for a melee warrior. Mater was a caster.
But the Demonic Watch had the Spike Ball ability. Mater was really curious on what Omnimotion would be like if combined with Spike Ball.
"Omnimotion it is." The curiosity killed the cat.
Mater inscribed Omnimotion onto the page. The inscription this time was different. With each movement of his claw, noise leaked out to the real world.
Aurora turned around, "Do you hear that?"
Aurora heard someone’s creeping up on her. But there wasn’t any.
Crow nodded, "I do, sister. I suspect it’s whatever Master is doing."
The more Mater inscribed the page, the more noise and Chaos leaked out to the world. It engulfed everyone inside a fake world.
When they regained consciousness, they were inside a painterly world. In front of them was a whale with wings.
"What is that thing?" Selina titled her head. Everything was too dreamy, too beautiful. It’s what a child dreamed the world to actually look like.
The whale was gigantic. Where its fins were supposed to be were a pair of large bird wings instead. The wings spanned miles long, covering the entire sky.
Mater was on top of the whale, finishing his touches.
"Relax, everyone. It’s just a side effect of me inscribing a new spell." Mater’s deep voice echoed.
The black cat finished the painting of the whale by adding a pupil to its last eye.
The illusion disrupted and everyone else saw themselves back in the maze again.
"That was... Unbelievable." Aurora mumbled.
Crow nodded silently.
Bash was chasing some butterfly before it disappeared, leaving him sad.
On the page was a brand new spell.
[Omnimotion]
[Rank]: 2
[Effect]: The Sky Whale has no limit to where it can go. It can go to the deepest of water and the highest of sky. The user of this spell shall be able to swim in water, fly in the air, and walk on any surface just as well as they run on the ground. The user can manipulate their own weight, from maximum ten times to minimum one-tenth of their natural weight.
[Chaos Cost]: None
"Aw shit! Here we go again!"
Mater knew exactly what was going to happen once he saw that cost amount.
