Chapter 240: Chapter 240: Psycho-Blades

The redhead professor patted Mater’s head gently then she moved on to patted Selina’s head.

"Huh?" Selina froze in surprise.

"You’re Selina Isles, aren’t you?" The professor said.

The goth girl nodded.

"My name is Rafina Brand. I am a friend of your mother."

"My mother?" Selina scanned Rafina with doubt.

The professor chuckled, "When you reach a certain level, it is very easy to retain eternal youth."

The statement caused an uproar inside the classroom.

"Eternal youth?! Did you hear that?"

"So we will never die?"

Rafina raised her hand and a heatwave spread in all directions. That move silenced the entire classroom immediately.

"You will die. The same as any ordinary person. We have power but we are not gods. We may live longer. But believe me, death comes for us all." Professor Brand said.

She turned her back away and walked up to the podium. The professor wore a deep red traditional dress. Her hips moved elegantly, enough to emphasize her enormous resources.

"Gyatdamn! Señorita!" The cat was just about to jump over the table and followed Rafina but Selina held him back.

"You need to stop blatantly following any woman you see!" Selina whispered.

"Why? They like me, aren’t they? We are consenting adults here." The black cat meowed.

In the end, it decided to stay with Selina. The cat might act extravagant but it only did it when the situation allowed. Mater knew when to act foolish and when not to.

"Hello, everyone. As you heard, I am Professor Rafina Brand. I will be teaching you about Psycho-Blade from now on.

Psycho-Blade is considered as a weaker form of attack compared to Psycho-Cast. But I do not believe it.

The blade is yours and your heart determines its power. Psycho-Blade enhances your body strength, and grants you the brute force that Psycho-Cast can never do.

Psycho-Cast has much more variety, I admit that. But when you are strong enough, everything becomes irrelevant.

Absolute power beats all techniques."

As Rafina finished her speech, she took out the wooden hair stick on her head that had been keeping her long flowing red hair together.

Her bright red hair flowed down like a dancing flame.

"This is Psycho-Blade."

Rafina held the hair stick like a sword. Chaos emerged from within her and enveloped the stick. That ordinary looking stick was actually a Blade Core. A similar one that Selina had in her armory.

The hair stick absorbed the Chaos and released a flaming blade that was almost three meters long. The tip of the flaming blade almost touched the window on the far side.

The heat of the blade spread and got on to everyone’s face.

Mater tapped the water bottle on the mug and summoned a water shield in front of the table, protecting everyone from the heat.

Ken’s eyes lit up in excitement. Miles gasped in admiration. Oscar stayed silent, he was too familiar with these exhibitions. Cole nodded and clapped like a member of a board meeting.

Rafina disrupted the skill quickly after and returned the temperature to normal.

Psycho-Blade Users had always wanted to take the throne of Psycho-Cast Users. They didn’t like to be listed as secondary. For most Psycho-Blade Purists, the blade was the strongest, not the cast.

Rafina believed this also. And she had seen so many young minds give up on the path because of the difficulty and pain. She didn’t want that.

So for a few years now, she had added this presentation at the start of the year to show the freshmen the true power of Psycho-Blade.

She succeeded in a way and there were many more Psycho-Blade Users in the Institute. But it had a side effect. She was officially the most popular professor inside the Institute with the largest fan club.

There was even a group that dedicated to worshiping her, most were students inside the Institute.

"Psycho-Case is very dense. But in Psycho-Blade, we learn by practicing." Professor Brand said.

The redhead woman clapped her hand. The tables split open and delivered each student a small steel rod.

"What you see in front of you is a Practice Core. It is much easier to control than a true Core. Today we will learn how to insert an NES inside it."

Oscar looked at the rod. He might not be a Rank-2, but he was very familiar with this technique. His main weapon was a bow. And the bow was his Psycho-Blade.

The boy swung the rod horizontally. His Chaos entered the device and ignited the Psycho Matrix inside it.

A semi-transparent red energy shot out from within the rod and formed around it. A red bow materialized inside Oscar’s hand.

"Oh? You already know how to do it. You learned it before?" Professor Brand said.

Oscar nodded, "I was in the military."

"I see."

"Heh. He’s not the only one that can do it."

From the other aisle, a blonde girl spoke up. Selina looked over to her. She recognized her from somewhere but couldn’t remember who.

"That’s the bitch from the Atlas Seven." Mater meowed.

Selina’s pupil dilated gently before returning to normal.

That girl was one of the few recruits of the Atlas Seven inside the Institute this year. She called herself Stardust.

Her real name was May Watson.

Chaos entered her rod as she swung it to the side. A long energy spear appeared in her hand. When May slammed it on the ground, it caused a small tremor inside the classroom.

"That one isn’t weak either." A student mumbled.

For some reason, people looked over to Selina. She was also a very famous individual inside the classroom. They were all curious on whether she could summon her own weapon.

The black cat yawned. There was not even a single ounce of interest in his eyes, "Just do as we practiced."

Selina had her own Blade Core. She didn’t do nothing with it in her free time. Mater already taught her what she should do with a weapon.

The Blade Core was a different piece of technology but Mater treated it the same as an Artifact. They were identical, the only difference was the manufacturing technology. One was science. The other was magic.

Selina grabbed the steel rod.
