"No one will see us." Kenneth pulled away from her lips, his lust-filled, husky voice whispering in her ear.

Then, he impatiently crushed his lips against hers again.

"Ken... wait... Mmph..." Summer Lancaster tried to push him away and speak, but he gave her no chance, swallowing her words whole.

Her dress was already hiked up to her waist. Her panting made it impossible for him to think clearly, and her bewitching gaze was making him lose all reason. ’I don’t want to wait,’ he thought. ’I want to take her, right here and now!’

DING. The elevator came to a stop, but it wasn’t his floor. Summer frantically pushed Kenneth away and hastily pulled down her badly wrinkled skirt.

"Someone’s getting on," she said, her face flushed, as she slapped away Kenneth’s hand, which was still inside her top.

’She didn’t dare look at Kenneth, but she heard him let out a low growl. She had always imagined that cool, aloof heartthrobs weren’t interested in women, that all they did was act cool and look handsome. But reality had proven that even a god-like man could turn into a beast. The stark contrast in Kenneth’s behavior was really throwing her for a loop.’

The elevator doors opened, and an office worker in a suit stepped inside. He must have been working late.

Kenneth shot the man a glare. The man felt a chill, as if a cold draft had blown past him. He looked back and saw Kenneth staring daggers at him. He hastily tried to exit the elevator to catch the next one, but the doors slid shut just as he moved.

The man’s heart began to pound. ’I know that’s Kenneth Yates,’ he thought, ’but I don’t think I’ve ever offended him. Why is he looking at me like he wants to kill me?’ He was so focused on Kenneth that he failed to notice there was a woman standing behind him.

The elevator finally stopped, and the man bolted out as if escaping for his life.

"Kenneth, what did you do? I got the feeling that guy was terrified of you!"

"Nothing," Kenneth said flatly. ’That was so close,’ he fumed internally. ’I was right on the verge, and that guy just had to interrupt. Maybe I should just buy the whole Veridian Community complex. That way, no one could ever disturb us again.’

As they got out of the elevator, Kenneth took off his jacket and draped it over Summer’s shoulders, then took her hand and led her toward his apartment.

"I’m not cold," Summer said, looking at him in astonishment. It might have been a little chilly outside, but it hadn’t been cold in the elevator.

"Your clothes," Kenneth said, glancing at her.

"Huh?" Summer looked down at herself. "Ah! Kenneth, you perv..." She realized the front of her top had been completely ripped open. ’I was so caught up in the moment I didn’t even notice, did I?’

’Wait a minute. Does that mean the other person in the elevator saw me like this? That bastard, Kenneth! If he had told me sooner, I would’ve held my top together!’

"Relax. That guy didn’t see you," Kenneth said, finally breaking into a smile.

Summer froze. ’So that’s why he stood in front of me... it wasn’t to avoid his own awkwardness, but to shield me from view. Fine, I’ll forgive the beast this time!’

’Finally, home. Now I can do whatever I want!’ Or so Kenneth thought.

"Open the door, wifey," Kenneth said, moving behind Summer and wrapping his arms gently around her waist.

In that moment, they were just like an ordinary married couple—sweet and full of passion.

"A trip to Francelia certainly made you a lot more sentimental. Did some Francelian girls teach you a few new tricks?" Summer lowered the hand that was about to grab her keys, turning to face him with a provocative gaze.
