Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Announcing to the Whole World

Summer Lancaster happened to spot Melody Donovan. She had rushed into the venue and taken a seat in the very back. This wasn’t surprising; Melody Donovan was a wealthy heiress, so it was perfectly normal for her to attend an exhibition like this.

"Next, I’m going to introduce the jewelry on the main display stand." As Kenneth Yates’s voice rang out, the audience began to murmur. There was clearly nothing on the stand, so what was he going to introduce?

"I’m sure you’re all very curious why there’s nothing here. That’s because it was impossible to place it on the stand."

A stir went through the crowd as they began to speculate. Had Kenneth Yates procured a massive diamond? Was that why it couldn’t be put on display?

With an elegant stride, Kenneth Yates walked over to the display stand.

"What I’m here to display is..." Kenneth slowly raised his left hand, revealing the diamond ring on his ring finger.

People in the audience began to shout, asking Kenneth what this meant. In the shadows, Summer Lancaster raised her hand, her eyes widening in disbelief as she stared at her own ring.

"I designed this ring myself, and I’ve named it Heart’s Desire!"

The crowd was in an uproar. For the CEO of the Yates Group to personally design a ring and feature it as a main exhibit at an international trade show... this was no simple piece of jewelry. But most importantly, Kenneth was wearing it on his ring finger!

The staff members in the audience looked at Kenneth, completely at a loss. None of this was in the original schedule for the exhibition. But what could they do? He was the CEO. The Planning Department scrambled to revise the timeline; it looked like some of the later events would have to be canceled.

"Dominic, what is the boss doing!" Sean Murphy, on the other hand, was quite relaxed. Kenneth Yates never played by the rules, but this time, Sean couldn’t figure out his angle. ’For the company? Impossible. He wouldn’t personally design something just for a small exhibition like this. I know Kenneth studied design, but I’ve never actually seen him create anything.’

"He’s winning over the beauty," Dominic Thorne answered Sean Murphy nonchalantly.

Sean Murphy was confused. ’Hasn’t he already won her over? Aren’t they already married? Why go through all this trouble?’ He glanced up absently, only to see Ronan Jenkins’s fiery gaze fixed on him. He quickly looked away and turned back to Dominic Thorne, making small talk about nothing in particular.

"And now, I’d like to invite Director Lancaster to the stage."

Summer Lancaster pointed at herself in surprise. ’Me?’ She couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t until the Planning Department’s urgent voice came through her earpiece that she slowly made her way to the stage. She had a very bad feeling about this...

Summer Lancaster walked to Kenneth’s side and gave an awkward smile. In the audience, dozens of pairs of eyes stared at her, their gazes as fierce as wolves watching a rabbit.

Summer Lancaster lamented inwardly. ’I don’t want to be hated by so many people!’

"This is the director of our company’s Planning Department, and she is also..." Kenneth suddenly moved closer and raised her right hand. Startled, Summer Lancaster instinctively flinched back, but Kenneth caught her just in time.

"...my wife!" The ring on Summer Lancaster’s hand glittered brightly under the lights.

BOOM!

It was as if a bomb had gone off. The hearts of the guests—and Summer Lancaster’s own—seemed to be pounding so hard they might stop altogether.

Most of the people in the audience were buzzing about the fact that Kenneth Yates was actually married. Though the woman had an innocent and pure look, they couldn’t help but feel it was unfair. They all glared at Summer Lancaster with eyes full of jealousy and resentment.

As for Summer Lancaster, the star of this commotion, she seemed frozen in place. The stunned expression on her face remained as she struggled to process what was happening. ’He... he really just announced my identity to the entire world.’
