CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 191: Goodnight, Handsome
When their laughter subsided, Roana was the first one to speak again, "Don’t tell us you’re a virgin, Mary. Oh! What a cliche, Virgin Mary," Roana laughed once more.
Mary who was drinking at that time inhaled some of the water and coughed. Anton was quick to rub her back and his mom handed her some tissue paper.
Anton gave Roana a knowing look, he knows how much Roana likes him and he did his best for her to change her mind but the woman is just so persistent on what she wants.
Mary sighed deeply trying to be nice as possible, "To answer your question, yes I am. I do not sleep around with men unlike other girls out there. I want to wait until I get married, to honor my future husband. How about you Roana, are you still a virgin or do you like sleeping around with men or perhaps women?"
’Phew, that did not come out right. I was trying to be nice, what is wrong with my mouth?’ Mary said to herself.
Anton and his dad bit their lips trying to suppress their laugh. They bowed their heads to concentrate on not laughing. It is known to everyone what kind of woman Roana is, and how much she wanted Anton for herself.
When they were young, their parents thought that it was just a crush or a puppy love so they didn’t really mind at all. But then it continued until today. There was a time that the two families tried to arrange the marriage of the two but Anton met Henry and then became busy with work.
Roana’s face turned red, so red that the humiliation she is feeling right now is very obvious, "I-I... Why are you asking such a personal question?"
Mary watched Roana drink from her glass all the way and that made Mary smirked. Roana was so flustered that Mary is enjoying it.
’Go ahead and try me, b!tch!’ Mary thought inwardly.
"Well, you brought it up first. I just want to return the favor. I think I know what your answer is anyways," Mary winked at Roana who raised an eyebrow at her.
"Mary dear, I think that what you believe in is great. It was like that during our time. Youngsters nowadays do not believe in such virtues anymore. It’s good to know that there are still young ladies like you who believe in that," Anton’s mother praised and Mary couldn’t help but spare a glance at Roana who was looking intensely at her.
"Anton, you should sleep on the couch and let Mary take your bed," Anton’s father butted in.
"Alright, that’s settled then. Can we eat now and stop making the two of us the center of attention," Anton blurted making his dad and mom chuckle.
Anton and Mary did not eat that much since their exhaustion weighs more than their hunger. Soon, Mary found herself in Anton’s room. She looked around checking out the decors and color palette.
"Not bad," Mary tersely uttered.
"What?" Anton who was getting a spare pajama for Mary in the walk-in closet peeked a bit to ask Mary.
"I said, your taste is not bad. I actually like it," Mary said as she sit on the edge of the bed.
Anton’s room is bright and light, unlike the common bachelor’s pad nowadays which is dark and gloomy.
"I’m glad you like it. What were you expecting anyways?" he asked back.
"Something black, gray, and brown," Mary chuckled.
"That’s how my room looks like in my parent’s house, so I want to have a different one this time. I don’t want to scare away my future wife, do I?"
"Hmm, so you plan to get married?" Mary asked as he watch Anton come out of the closet and handed her the spare pajama.
"Of course I will, I want to have a family someday. I want to have four kids and a beautiful wife like you," Anton winked and smirked at her making Mary laugh out loud.
"Alright, enough of the flattery," Mary stood up and went to the bathroom to change.
Like Anton’s bedroom, his bathroom is the same, all white, not a speck of dirt. Mary wondered if he is someone who gets bothered by some dirt.
After cleaning up, instead of going to bed, she walked towards the windows and the corner of her lips curved up, "So this is what you mean by ’couch’ huh?"
She found Anton sleeping soundly on the sofa by the window, still wearing his shirt and pants that he has been wearing since yesterday.
’I guess he is not germaphobic after all,’ Mary turned around and went to the closet to get some blanket for Anton.
She covered him until his shoulder then sat beside him. She removed some of the hair that was on his face. She used the back of her hand to caress his left cheek as she stare at him.
’I think I want to keep you forever,’ Mary said inwardly before bending over and kissing Anton on the lips.
"Goodnight, handsome," Mary said before going to bed.
Anton smirked as soon as he felt Mary move away. He was waiting for her to come out of the bathroom so he can clean up before sleeping. He just closed his eyes to rest a bit. He has no plan of sleeping there.
He already brought pillows and a blanket to the living room sofa while Mary was cleaning up. He didn’t expect her to not panic being alone with him in his room unlike what happened in the gallery before.
But that made him happy, it just means that Mary is really getting comfortable with him and she is allowing him to get closer to her. The arrival of his parents and Roana’s family did more good than harm unlike what he first thought.
If they didn’t invite themselves into his house, Mary would be sleeping in his guestroom by now and he wouldn’t get that kiss from her.
