Chapter 228: Yes Master

The opening of the first mall branch proceeded smoothly, without any hiccups. It was already late when Roana finally arrived at Anton’s penthouse.

Earlier, while assisting Anton at the self-service station, she had informed him that she would be going with Kevin after work. Being in the mall already made it convenient for her to accomplish her objective.

Upon entering the penthouse, Roana found Anton and Mary waiting for her, accompanied by Rei and Sandra. The atmosphere was filled with a sense of anticipation. Rei wasted no time and inquired, "Were you able to place the devices correctly?"

"Yes, I did. But something seemed off. He was acting normal today. I asked him why he was being so nice to me, and he simply stated that he wanted to make friends since he’s new here, which is true," Roana shared with a hint of confusion in her voice.

"Are you absolutely certain there’s nothing suspicious about him today?" Anton questioned, expressing his concerns.

"I did notice him frequently checking his watch while we were distributing flyers, but he claimed it was due to worry. I don’t find that suspicious at all, considering he’s the Operations Manager," Sandra replied, seeking clarification.

"We can not be certain, but my intuition tells me something is not right. Remember, he is the only outsider who knew Amy and Henry’s whereabouts. We were all discreet about it, so we can’t dismiss that fact.

And the choice of location for the accident... how could the suspect have predicted that Henry would be bringing his jet if Amy had not mentioned it to someone else?" Rei reminded the group, emphasizing the importance of not taking things for granted.

Mary, feeling exasperated, spoke up, "Sandra, remind me to give your cousin a good beating once this is all over. Despite the betrayals she had experienced in the past, she still naively believes that everyone is inherently good and has no ill intentions toward her."

"Do not worry, Mary. I will be the first one in line to strangle your best friend once we are done. They have been taking up so much from me and Rei, and I am not pleased with it," Sandra added, her tone serious.

The room fell into a momentary silence before everyone burst into laughter. Sandra’s uncharacteristic sense of humor brought a much-needed lightness to the situation. Sandra is not someone who jokes around so this is an improvement for her.

After helping Roana, Kevin did not head home right away. Instead, he made his way to a rundown apartment on the outskirts of the city. The apartment housed multiple generations of families in a single unit, except for one individual.

"What are you doing here?" the person questioned, surprised by Kevin’s unexpected arrival.

Kevin smirked, stepping inside the apartment. "You thought I would not find you? Have you been here all day? I was waiting for you at the café, you know."

"Get out! I do not want you here. Leave me alone!" the person exclaimed, clearly distressed.

"That is all the more reason why I should be here. Being alone would not do you any good. Come on, let us go home," Kevin almost pleaded.

"No! Nothing is going my way. All I want is justice! Is that too much to ask?" the person cried out in frustration.

Kevin pursed his lips, observing the tearful individual before him. "You will get your justice in due time. But for now, let me take you home. It is cold and the smell in here is unbearable."

"This is how my sister and I used to live, Kevin... in this wretched place!" the person reminded him.

"Hush now, I know. But you are not living like this anymore. Let us go, please," Kevin pleaded, unable to tolerate the foul odor any longer.

The person nodded, wiping away tears with Kevin’s handkerchief before standing up and following him out of the apartment.

Silence reigned between the two as they descend the apartment’s stairs. But once they were inside the car, Kevin could no longer contain his curiosity.

"Where were you all day?" he inquired, breaking the silence.

"At first, I was at the hotel. Then, I drove to the mall and saw you distributing flyers. Everyone seemed happy, but I received a call from the office, so I had to go to work instead," the person explained, stealing glances at Kevin while he was maneuvering the car.

"And what about Alex?" Kevin asked, genuinely curious. He continued to observe the person beside him as he drove.

"He was furious... He believes he was outsmarted once again," came the reply.

"His impatience and hot-headedness will only lead him into trouble. If he keeps behaving that way, even my smart brain would not be able to save him someday," Kevin commented, shaking his head in disapproval.

"Tell him to lay low for now. Just relax and be patient. I will gather valuable information soon. In the meantime, he should channel all that anger and frustration, saving it for when the right time comes," Kevin advised, as they entered the parking lot of the person’s apartment.

The person glanced at Kevin, a hint of amusement visible in the eyes. "And where do you think you are going? Why are you heading to the parking lot? Just drop me off at the front entrance."

Kevin scoffed and chuckled, "Who said I was just going to drop you off? You promised me tonight, success or not. You said I could f*ck you as many times as I want. Are you backing out now?"

The person’s eyes rolled and smirked. "Okay, but will be the one in charge. And do not think I would not punish you for not knowing ahead of time. Get ready to be whipped, understood?"

Kevin smirked back, his tone playful. "Yes, master!"

With a mischievous glint in their eyes, Kevin and the person entered the apartment building and made their way to the bedroom. As they stepped into the dimly lit space, the atmosphere shifted, charged with anticipation and excitement.

The person closed the door behind them, leaning against it, their gaze locked, "You know, Kevin, I never expected you to have this side to you."

Kevin approached slowly, a confident smile playing on his lips. "There’s a lot you don’t know about me."

They stood face to face, Kevin’s hand reached out, gently tracing the contours of the person’s face. Their breaths mingled, the tension between them mounting with each passing second.

Without uttering a single word, their desires converged, and their lips finally met in a passionate embrace. Time seemed to stand still as they surrendered to the intensity of their connection, exploring a new dimension of their relationship.

In that moment of vulnerability, they found solace and strength in each other. The weight of their burdens temporarily lifted as they reveled in the simple pleasure of being present, entangled in each other’s arms.

Hours melted away as their passion deepened, their bodies entwined in a dance of desire and trust. In each other’s embrace, they found respite from the chaos of their lives, seeking solace and intimacy in the midst of uncertainty.

As the night faded into dawn, they lay together, bodies intertwined, breaths still heavy with the remnants of their passion.
