CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 333: Rebellious Teenager

"Do you really want to work there? I mean it has been almost five years since I was able to talk to anyone there. My father is also too sick to talk to Anton or Rei to ask for a favor," Jonathan Wilson said to his driver in the ranch.

"Yes sir, I just want to reconcile with my family but before that, I must secure a good job before I meet them again. It would be too embarrassing to face them like this," the driver said.

"As much as I don’t want to let you go, I understand how important it is to be with family. I don’t think I would be able to find someone like you, Tom. You are the best employee that I have ever had. But I trust you, and I know how hard it has been for you to be away from your family after your accident. It’s just such a waste losing an employee like you, it has been a good year or more right?" Jonathan said.

"A little bit more than one year, sir," Tom said.

Jonathan picked up his mobile phone and said, "Let me call Rei then and recommend you. But while waiting can you deliver this to The Steak House?"

Tom nodded and left. Jonathan dialed Rei’s number and wondered why Tom was adamant about working in the Welsh mansion, to the point of asking him for a recommendation.

[Jonathan?! It’s been a long time! How have you been?] Rei asked as soon as he answered the phone.

"I have been great. I hope it goes the same with you and all of you there."

[Well, it is still hard, still almost the same as five years ago. And boy, Amy is trying to beat Henry making my head hurt.]

"Amy? How come? Isn’t she the sweetest?" Jonathan asked in confusion. He had met Amy several times and from what he can see, she is not someone who would make anyone’s life miserable.

[She is still, but she is becoming like a rebellious teenager. She can’t keep a driver for more than a week! A week Jonathan, a week! She would rather drive herself around and also does not wish to have bodyguards. It is as if she has a death wish, I am growing gray hairs because of her.]

"Oh wow, that is really a headache. By the way, since you mentioned bodyguards and drivers, Are you looking for one? My driver here is very determined to work there and even asked me to contact you," Jonathan said.

[Oh, that’s great news then! He must have seen the ads that I posted. All agencies here are refusing to send us their workers after getting complaints about Amy. I had to resort to putting up an ad just to find one. But I need someone with fighting skills, does he have what it takes?]

"Yes, Rei I would vouch for him, but there’s just one problem," Jonathan paused and thought of how he could package his words neatly and nicely.

Rei paused from what he was doing and asked, [What is it?]

"Well, you see, Tom has been my driver for more than a year now. He is trustworthy, hardworking, and I could go on and on but the thing is he has scars all over his face and body. So if you mind him wearing a facemask and sunglasses all the time then he is not the best person for the job," Jonathan stated.

[Did he tell you where he got it from?] Rei curiously asked before resuming his work.

"He said that the factory where he used to work caught on fire. I did some checking and there was really a factory here that burned down three years ago and a lot of workers died so I did not ask for more," Jonathan explained.

[Well, if you already did a background check on him, send him here. His appearance is not a big deal anyway. And let’s hope that he could last for more than a week.]

Jonathan delivered the good news as soon as Tom went back to the farm, arriving just in time for dinner.

"Tom! Start packing up, you got the job. Why didn’t you tell me that you saw the job listing online? I doubted you for a second there. I thought you were a stalker or something," Jonath jested making Tom scratched his head.

"I apologize, sir, I thought I already mentioned it perhaps I forgot that I didn’t. Thank you so much for your effort in recommending me," Tom said before heading back to the worker’s quarters.

’They posted a job like that online? Is Rei out of his mind? What was he thinking?!’ Tom said to himself inwardly.

He immediately arranged his things and packed the things that he would bring and things that he would send to the post office and pick them up at a later date in Monte City. He just can’t wait to leave Brookegrove and start a new life in another country in an attempt to get his family back.

It’s been years since he last saw them and the information about them is hard to find online and the only thing that he can do to get more information about them is to go where they are.

And when he thought that Heaven had abandoned him, here he is thanking the gods above while excitedly packing and counting the hours until he will finally see his family again.

He had imagined this moment multiple times in his head over the years and he could not believe that it was finally coming true. At last, he will be able to hug his children again and kiss his wife whom he loves so much, more than his life.
