CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 354: She Will Marry Me
Amy cried her heart out on Henry’s shoulders, not caring about anyone around them. After she had released the immense sadness and grief, she gently let go of Henry and courageously made her way toward the tent where the children were.
Upon noticing Amy heading to the tent, Jayson called out to her and joined her on her way. Jena, being eleven years old, already comprehended the situation. The twins, having had a prior conversation with Amy, were mentally prepared for what lay ahead. Nevertheless, Amy anticipated that the children would still experience sorrow and mourning over the loss of Ash.
Henry remained behind, watching as Amy and Jayson entered the tent, unaware that all eyes were fixed on him. As he observed Amy and Jayson disappear into the tent, he turned around with the intention of joining Rei and Anton, only to find everyone’s intense gaze upon him.
’Wow, they’re quite intimidating,’ he mused to himself, noting the intensity of their scrutiny. Swiftly changing his mind about joining Rei and Anton, he opted instead to seek a secluded spot away from prying eyes.
However, Mary was not prepared to simply overlook or disregard the recent scene she had witnessed. When Henry began to walk away, she swiftly ran to block his path.
"Where do you think you’re going, Tom?" Mary queried with a sarcastic edge to her tone.
Henry found himself frozen, unsure of how to respond. He had acted impulsively and hadn’t considered the consequences of his actions before approaching Amy.
Fortunately, Anton came to his rescue, stammering, "I-I think we should assist Amy in preparing for Ash’s funeral."
Mary brushed off Anton’s attempt to intervene and paid him no attention. She turned her full attention back to Henry and pressed, "Tom, could you please clarify what we just witnessed? Are you involved in a relationship with Amy?"
Anton rubbed his temples, recognizing that Mary wouldn’t relent until she received an answer.
"Ohh, this is gonna be good," Rei murmured but Sandra heard it.
"You know something, don’t you?" she asked.
Rei just smiled and gestured that he didn’t know but Sandra squinted her eyes, not believing him.
"There’s nothing to explain. She just needed a shoulder to cry on, that’s all," Henry said before starting to walk again.
Mary grabbed his arm and said, "Not so fast. There are so many shoulders there for her to cry on, so what’s so special about yours? Who are you?"
"Mary, I think we should ask Amy instead–" Anton tried to stop Mary but failed. Mary just wouldn’t listen to him.
"No! Amy has not been in her right mind ever since Henry passed away and the mastermind of Henry’s death has not been caught yet. So, no, I will not let this go until I know my best friend is safe. What if this man is just deceiving Amy and will put her in danger?" Mary angrily explained her thoughts to everyone.
"I will not harm Amy. And I was not sent here by someone. I came here on my own," Henry said.
"And that’s what I have been wondering? Amy had terminated you twice already and you are still here. Why choose to work for a cranky boss like here when you can work for others?" Mary questioned. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
"Amy is not cranky, she’s just hurt," Henry stated.
"See that? He is not even calling her boss or Mrs. Brighton. He is addressing her on a first-name basis and you just got here." Mary’s voice was starting to increase in volume. She hates the fact that Tom is reasoning with her instead of just answering her question directly.
"She won’t me Mrs. Brighton for long," Henry answered tersely.
Mary’s irritation is now in full blast. She remembered Amy saying that she would get married soon. ’Is Tom the person she is going to marry?’ That thought of hers only infuriated her knowing that they just met. ’What did he feed her?’ she asked herself.
"And why is that? She loves Henry and Ash and she will not change her last that easily," Mary retorted.
"But she will when she gets married," Henry replied.
Mary can feel her blood boiling as her irritation turns into anger, Tom is really asking for trouble. "She won’t do that. She will not marry another man soon!"
"But she will... She will marry me," Henry then walked away, not waiting for Mary to answer back.
Rei chuckled at how the situation unfolded, puzzling the people around him.
"I can’t believe you find this amusing!" Sandra said before leaving him and went to Mary.
On the other hand, Mary was completely mad and annoyed, "Rei! Fire that man. I don’t want him near Amy or the kids! I won’t be able to sleep at night knowing that man is on the property."
"I can’t do that. It’s Amy’s decision. Even if I fire him, but Amy declines then I won’t be able to do that. Jonathan referred him so he must be a good man. Don’t worry I will keep an eye on him," Rei said.
Mary stopped talking and closed her eyes before letting out a deep sigh. Rei is right. Even if they fire Tom, the big boss is still Amy and they are all under her payroll, what the boss wants, the boss gets.
Amy believed that the only path to dismissing Tom was by uncovering some negative information about him. She resolved to demonstrate to Amy that Tom wasn’t suitable for her or their children, thereby prompting Amy to be the one to end their relationship or whatever it is that they have.
Amy walked out of the tent after hearing the loud voice of Mary, "What is going on? We can hear your voice inside."
"Tom is the problem! I don’t think it is safe to trust him. You should fire him right away," Mary said loudly.
"Geez, is that what this commotion is all about?" Amy asked.
"Yes, cuz. He just said to us that you will marry him." Sandra remarked.
"He did?" Amy tittered before adding, "Alright. I will fire him if that’s what you want."
