Chapter 417: Another Soul—Goldly Realm Online

[Your imagination is your limit, Nameless Player!]

Wait, what? Pyris stiffened. "Nameless? When did I agree to that?"

[You did when you didn’t choose a name immediately but asked a question. The game has chosen a name that matches the nature of your question! An appropriate class has been offered given the nature of your questions. Does Nameless accept the class: Sovereign of Sin.]

[Power: Seduce, corrupt, and conquer mortals, immortals, and gods alike.]

[Special Trait: Existence Devourer — Absorb and evolve by consuming Cosmic energies and forces.]

Pyris chuckled lowly, a hand brushing through his silver hair. "Now that sounds like fun."

Pyris squinted suspiciously at the list spinning beside him. Same boring crap — Knight, Mage, Summoner, Assassin — things he could become even without this damn game. Some weird classes too that sounded like titles of dead-end NPCs.

But Sovereign Of Sin glowed golden pink. It sat apart. Almost... alive.

Beast Tamer sat underneath it, barely catching his eye. Taming legendary beasts did sound fun, but...

The shimmering ring around Sovereign Of Sin made his gut stir. It promised more. More than taming. More than ruling. Maybe even consuming.

"I would take that indeed," Pyris muttered, tapping the golden name.

A harsh flash.

[Name: Nameless

Age: 16

Soul Type: Time of Past

Class: Sovereign Of Sin

Level: 0]

He sighed through his nose, tossing a glance sideways into the void. "Too bad. I wanted to be Petne Chaos."

Was it time to finally discard that failed alias? He wanted his name to be a mystery... both in this game and in the real world. No identity. No ties. Only domination. A shadow of Pyris Obsidian.

His body blurred, folding into streams of light as the void swallowed him whole.

[Player initialization complete! Entering the realm of eons past!]

The void cracked.

The blackness around him shattered like broken glass.

And what hit Pyris next made him freeze. The world he dropped into wasn’t just vivid — it slammed into every sense he had.

The sky above was a deep, molten gold, bleeding into violent shades of crimson, and the land itself pulsed with power. The very air was so thick, so saturated with raw mana, that breathing felt like trying to drink liquid lightning. It wasn’t just heavy — it was intoxicating.

Every heartbeat synced with the land’s rhythm.

Every breath tasted like energy, not air.

’Holy shit,’ Pyris thought, staggering for half a second as the full weight of it hit him. Compared to this? The modern mortal realm was a hollow shell.

This was life.

This was how the world was supposed to feel.

His skin prickled with sensation, his muscles feeling lighter, stronger, yet somehow ready to tear apart if he wasn’t careful. His entire being felt... awake. Connected. Even the smallest movement in the grass carried a thread of mana, weaving into him like he belonged here more than he ever had anywhere else.

He stood on a cliff edge, overlooking rolling valleys where trees the size of mountains swayed in winds that shimmered with colors he’d never seen before. Rivers of light-like waters cut through the land, and the earth itself seemed to hum — not silently, but a deep, soul-vibrating murmur.

Pyris instinctively looked down at himself, inspecting his body — his Avatar.

He looked exactly the same. Same face, same build, same cocky smile threatening to tug his mouth. But there was a difference.

A sharpness in his movements, a depth to his senses, a presence about him that he couldn’t put into words.

It was like his soul had been peeled open and made raw — more real than it ever was back in the modern world.

[Ding! Does Nameless wish to stay hidden? YES/NO!]

He smirked to himself. "Yes."

[Fellow players won’t be able to remember your face unless they become your ’friend’.]

He narrowed his eyes thoughtfully. "And those watching the test?"

[The streaming cannot capture your face either. After the test, players can choose whether to stream their in-game journey or remain hidden.]

Pyris exhaled slowly, feeling the thick mana curl through him like smoke. ’Good,’ he thought. ’Mystery suits me just fine.’

He would look around again, his sharp eyes tracing the horizon that seemed to stretch into eternity.

What the hell had happened to this world?

What could have reduced the current real mortal realm to such a pathetic, empty existence compared to this?

The thought made him scoff under his breath. The real world couldn’t even compare to 1% of this place.

Shaking his head, Pyris exhaled slowly and dropped to the ground. He crossed his legs and sat still, allowing the roaring energy in the air to wash over him.

He closed his eyes and began to cultivate, pulling the thick, vibrant mana into himself with every controlled breath.

Not just his body — his soul needed to attune to this world.

And so, he surrendered to this ancient-like energy.

The mana flowed into him like a river breaking through a damn. It wasn’t gentle. It seized him, racing through him, saturating his core, sinking into every fiber of his being.

Pyris let it.

Minutes passed. Or maybe hours. Time felt different here, as if even the passing of seconds was thicker, heavier. Finally, he opened his eyes again, feeling more grounded — as if his soul had threaded itself into the very fabric of this realm.

He stood up, brushing dust off his clothes, and gazed out at the breathtaking ancient world stretched before him.

[Warning: Player Nameless’s soul is invalidated!]

What—?

That was the last thing Pyris saw before his vision shattered and the world collapsed around him.

He fell unconscious on the spot.

And yet... not even those watching from the towering Obsidian Hall — the administrators, the testers, the leaders—so-called gods of the real world—had noticed that Pyris had entered the game.

No, it was as if he’d vanished completely, slipping somewhere even they could not see.
