Chapter 217: A punch or two - I

It took him less than an hour to reach Evelyn. She was in the outskirts in a warehouse but what stopped them was the movement that they could sense from the outside.

"Approximately twenty people are inside," Alfonso informed, "we can’t tell which room she is in unless we get inside."

Salvatore continued looking ahead before giving in a sharp nod. "What else?"

"Movement is there," Michelle added and Salvatore heard him through the earpiece, "I can see it from my angle."

Approximately twenty and there was movement inside meaning that they had not found out about Evelyn calling him and the movement confirmed that they had no involvement in her calling him.

It was not a staged stunt. If that had been there was no way any Boss, no matter how cruel, could sacrifice this number of men. Five to ten were fine, but 20 was a huge amount.

"Shoot something," Salvatore commanded, his eyes were made on the door which was closed and he knew it was heavy metal.

If they tried to even crack open the door, it would make enough noise to alarm everyone inside and get ready for an attack.

That would not be in their favour.

"On it," he heard Michelle say and before they knew it, a sniper bullet shot through the class of a car.

They heard allowed noise as if wheels were churning at a slow pace and before the new with the metal door opened and two men stepped out.

They looked around before stepping on the gravel to check whether noise was coming from and just as they came near the car a bullet was shot right between their eyes killing them instantly.

They waited silently, hidden and watching from afar with binoculars.

The bait was there and now all they had to do was take it.

Another person popped in and like it they expected he stopped shortly at the door as if trying to figure out where the previous men went.

He was shot right at the door.

It took him seconds to fall down and as they had expected we fell down right at the entrance. That was enough to cause the motion but was certainly not quick enough because it was still taking more time than if needed. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

The way Evelyn talked she was definitely dying and that was probably The Last of strength that she had.

That phone call that she had made to him could be the last phone call she ever made if he did not arrive inside on time.

Events after that were one after another and happened in the span of seconds. A thunderous roar of footsteps came outside and they were shot down by the snipers within seconds before the first team moved in and that was led by Michelle.

None of them could let Salvatore in unless they had found Evelyn first. If one of the people in the top tier, the leading couple, was missing the other one was to be protected.

He could feel the frustration building in. Only 5 min remained behind to protect his ass that did not need anything. The rest of the men moved inside for Evelyn and the constant sound of gunshots made him miss the action for the first time.

"What’s happening?" He asked, slightly pissed that he was not getting to know anything.

"Almost all men are down," Michelle answered, "theirs. Once they ordered we are going to do a clean sweep of the place."

Fuck, he bit his lip, they were still not done killing people. How long does it take for them to shoot a bullet through someone’s head?

"Found her," someone spoke into the ear piece and he knew it was a soldier. "West side, third door."

That was it.

Before he knew it, Salvatore was on his teeth and marching into the room. The men that were with him slid around him making a barricade for anyone that wanted to come across.

No one came in front of him when he entered the building because his men had successfully held every one and only bodies were piled on the floor.

West wing, he moved to the other side and saw three men standing in front of the door with one of them coming out of the room with Evelyn in his arms.

A pale faced Evelyn, and not to mention the stinking smell smell from her. It was enough to tell him the conditions that she was in.

"Heartbeats are a little slow,’’ the man muttered under his breath before he stepped forward with His Evelyn in his arms. "But not close enough to dying."

He would be the judge of whether she was dying or not. The first thing he did was snatch her from him and into her arms before walking outside and into a car.

She was cold. This was the coldest he had ever felt her skin to be. The golden tan that seemed to be forever on her skin disappeared slightly and the pale colour almost made him jump over in anger to punch the man responsible for this.

The police had already been informed and the traffic was being controlled. It took all of them minutes to arrive at the private clinic owned by him.

This was perhaps the safest place and Salvatore had also added a pediatrician along with a gynecologist. That was something he had done for Evelyn but they never had the chance.

He moved inside on autopilot and the stretcher was inside. Once she was on it and into the operation theatre, there was nothing he could do, meaning he had to retire to the office of the doctor that was currently in charge.

Moments later, Michelle walked in. "The cameras are off." He stood beside the visitor’s chair. "Mr. Alessandro found something."

"Enough for me to leave her side?"

Michelle nodded and a sick, twisted grin reached his face.

"Well then," Salvatore stood up, buttoning his jacket, "I need to blow off some steam."
