There is always a mountain beyond a mountain, a sky beyond the sky.

Those are words used to describe the fact that no matter what kind of talent you have, no matter how hard you work, and no matter how lucky you can be, there's always someone who is capable of surpassing your results.

'I was always the sky beyond the sky… no, I still am…' those thoughts appear in Lyria's mind as she gradually slips into unconsciousness; her eyes, filled with nothing but hatred and jealousy, are still directed at the lady who brought her to such a state, almost as if she refuses to be surpassed by her.

In her mind, it is always only right for her to think so, with her being the daughter of one of the most, if not the most influential authority among the vampires, the Bloodstar Duchess, born with an overwhelming talent not paling in comparison to the Princess of the Night, all she has to do is ask for it and everyone will be clamoring to accomplish what she asked for.

This sense of superiority grows even further when the greatest gathering of geniuses on the continent, the Great Ones, invited her and not the princess among their ranks, this invitation making her believe in the power she holds all the more.

Which is probably the reason why just one rumor, just one gaze at this lady, made her give the order to make said lady's life a suffering of solitude.

"She's probably the most beautiful vampire of our time." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

"She's also closely related to the Alucard Clan, not to mention she's really talented as well…"

"There might be another star born in our vampire race."

Words that should've made anyone from their race excited, made her feel angry, made her feel insecure instead, and this insecurity, this insecurity alone brought down a faction closest to the queen, said queen incapable of doing anything with this lady's mother keeping her in check, the only consolation for such sadness being the fact that her people managed to save this faction's last blood.

The heir to the duchess could've found multiple occasions to completely eliminate this threat that is the last descendant of the Sanguinis; however, her twisted sense of joy made her decide otherwise, taking quite the joy in witnessing a lady who should've been standing on the same level as her struggle to barely make ends meet.

And yet now, that very same source of her twisted joy suddenly grows at a tremendous rate, and is staring down at her with disdainful eyes that she never received her entire life, a provocation that made her blood boil in wrath that is as pointless as further expression of resistance, given her body is no longer capable of creating any motion at all.

And as if to hit the final nail on her heart, the words that came out of this young earl's mouth made her so mad that she snapped, her wrath turning into something that knocked her unconscious as that word continues to reverberate in her mind.

"Pathetic…"

Meanwhile, witnessing just how violent Liliana can be, her teacher, Su Xiaotian, couldn't help but compare her with his own sister, the little ball of sunshine and cheerful cheekiness, someone who turns into a violent, brutal asura every time she enters the battlefield.

While admiring his student's work, the several dozen of members of the Great Ones remaining couldn't help but just stare at the lady with eyes wide open, the disbelief now turning into acceptance, their bodies struggling and squirming as they felt the need to run away from this place as soon as possible.

This thought is shared among almost the entirety of the Great Ones, save for some braver ones, and the ones that Su Xiaotian put his attention to previously, the so-called front row seats among their group.

"About time I release you from the restriction," he then said as he snapped his fingers once again, the moment he did so, the pressure restricting all their movement finally disappeared, the sense of freedom returning to them, making them think of something.

'He's reached his limits!!'

This young man who appears in their midst, after all, looks just about the same age, or generation as them, hence it is only reasonable for anyone to know that just suppressing several dozens of geniuses of the same level for a couple of seconds is already an impressive feat, and the most likely reason for the one who accomplished this feat to remove this suppression is the fact that he can no longer keep it up.

Of course, that only applies when it is the normal order of things; the issue, however, is the fact that the normal order of things and the individual Su Xiaotian don't have anything to do with each other at all.

"Die!!!" multiple members of the Great Ones lunged forward and attacked, or rather, attempted to attack the immortal-like figure. Such an attack only made him smile as they came to realize that before they could even finish their motion, or worse yet, their words, they were already frozen in place once again.

"I appreciate the bravery to even attempt an attack, but I am not your opponent," he smiles amicably as he turns around, taking a good look at the ones who attacked him, none of them a part of the five individuals he had taken note of previously.

"This lady right here is your opponent," standing near him, Su Xiaotian pulled Liliana near him, wrapping his arm around her shoulders before giving her a good pat, seemingly passing on the task of dealing with these visitors to her, a task that she would take on all too gladly without cost.

"No way, there's too many of them, if they all have that level of trump cards, your student will die of tiredness!!" hearing his words, Liliana complained as she slips away from his grasp, her face annoyed as she reasoned with him, her face, despite the clearly aggrieved expression, completely soft and tolerant unlike what it was when she was fighting previously.

"You're not my student, you said it yourself, so should we just let them go like that?" he asked, raising his fingers as if intending to snap the Great Ones from their imprisonment once again, only for the young vampire earl to argue with this opinion of his again.

"Why should I let people who disrupt the order of my home just go out whenever they want? They have to pay some price to go," she said after shaking her head, the greedy smile on her face making the immortal-like young man crack into a genuine smile, his face, despite being one of the enemy, still couldn't help but make the ladies among the Great Ones stare at him in a lovestruck daze.

"That's a good idea, deal with them as you wish then," he said as he snapped the Great Ones out of their restriction again, this time, gone were the people who even dare to think of taking this opportunity to attack him, feeling like they might really be in danger if they push their luck too much around this young man.
