Chapter 324: Chapter 313: Making Things Clear (Part 1)

It was Sunday, the whole family was home, and after eating breakfast in the morning, Li Xianglu placed the twins in the front yard while Lu Anna also brought Minmin over. Qin Zhen was also leaving in the afternoon, she needed to help pack some things, so the children were left in the front.

Aunt Ma put all three children under the arbor in the courtyard, on a wooden platform that was twenty centimeters high. This platform was something Li Xianglu remembered seeing in a Korean drama, positioned in the middle of the courtyard like a heated brick bed, where one could eat, enjoy the cool air, or let the children crawl and play.

However, it wasn’t made too high, just twenty centimeters, so even if the children fell off, it wouldn’t be too severe.

The wooden platform was personally made by Li Jianqing, its surface smoothly polished, and it was even covered with a thick cushion. The three little ones started grabbing at each other as soon as they climbed up.

Usually, it was Ba’er who loved to grab Minmin. Minmin was a bit delicate and would start yelling whenever grabbed, which only made Ba’er want to grab her more, while Ba Yi just lay there quietly, flipping over from time to time, ignoring the other two.

Li Xianglu then went to help Li Jianqing pack, but upon entering the room, she saw Li Jianqing standing there, and Leng Qing was putting some of his clothes and daily necessities into a green canvas bag.

Li Xianglu shook her head, realizing she wasn’t needed after all, and silently left the room without disturbing them.

Just as she left the courtyard, she saw Hu Zi hurrying toward her from the back door. Upon seeing Li Xianglu, he stopped and said, "Someone has come from outside, the woman in the green dress who came a few days ago, and there’s an older one with her."

Li Xianglu frowned, the woman in the green dress, wasn’t that Iro? The older one, could it be Sha Xinyu?

Sure enough, as Li Xianglu walked to the back door, she saw a car parked at the door, and Iro and Sha Xinyu were standing there.

Sha Xinyu’s expression was somewhat awkward; she tried to smile at Li Xianglu, but couldn’t quite manage it, and stiffly said, "I came to see Jianqing."

Li Xianglu raised an eyebrow and didn’t bother with Sha Xinyu, instead, she looked inquiringly at Iro.

Iro stepped forward and said, "I’m serious. Back then, Jianqing and I truly loved each other. My mother has also come to understand this, so she specifically came to talk about it."

What else is there to say? Not giving up? Didn’t I make it clear that day? But since they’ve come, might as well clarify everything once and for all to avoid any more issues.

After Li Jianqing said he wanted to officially date Leng Qing, Li Xianglu specifically talked to him and Li Jianqing said he was serious and planned to marry Leng Qing by the end of the year, so she felt it was not a bad time to make things clear.

Thus, she invited them to come in. It was Sha Xinyu’s first visit to the new Siheyuan, seeing the interior more beautifully decorated than the last place she entered, with long corridors, she suddenly felt it wouldn’t be bad for her daughter to marry Li Jianqing. So, she began to inquire, "Did you sell the old courtyard house?"

Li Xianglu didn’t know why she suddenly asked about that courtyard, and shook her head, "No, we’re keeping it."

Upon hearing this, Sha Xinyu’s eyes lit up. Property prices had been soaring dramatically lately; she heard that when Qin Family’s second son married Lu Anna, the dowry included a small western-style building’s property deed and a considerable amount of gold and jewelry.

Although her daughter wasn’t marrying a son of the Qin Family, Li Xianglu was her biological brother, so he should also give more, shouldn’t he? 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

The old courtyard, although not as good as this one, was also nicely situated; nowadays even with money, one couldn’t buy such a well-located courtyard. Since it was vacant, it could be given to her daughter to stay. When discussing later, she could bring this up – they were siblings and there shouldn’t be such disparity in treatment.

On this side, Li Xianglu had no idea that Sha Xinyu had already thought so much and led everyone directly to the front parlor.

After settling everyone down, Li Xianglu went to call for someone, having Sister Xing bring tea while she quickly spoke with Grandfather and Qin Xi, and her third uncle, about the visitors and their likely purpose.

Mr. Li’s expression darkened; he had no good impression of Sha Xinyu, so he didn’t plan on meeting them, directly instructing Qin Xi and Li Xianglu to send the guests away.

Meanwhile, Sha Xinyu, sipping tea in the parlor and observing the spacious forty-plus square meter room, felt quite pleased. This place was indeed much larger and better decorated than the previous courtyard. Although they lived in an apartment, it wasn’t nearly as comfortable as here. They used sofas, but they couldn’t match the charm of these rosewood furniture pieces. However, they dared not bring such noticeable furniture home, and as for Li Huai Ren, he had no such concerns; being retired with so many grandchildren and followers, he didn’t need to worry about appearances.

Iro, however, was somewhat upset. She remembered that day when Jianqing introduced a girl as his girlfriend, claiming they were dating, but she could tell they were putting on a show, to make her angry and leave. She knew, and regardless, she was determined to be with Jianqing this time. Jianqing had given up too much for her, injured his leg, even fought with Wan Mingxiang for her – all these showed that Jianqing loved her, so she refused to believe Jianqing was seeing someone else. It had to be fake.

Soon, Qin Xi along with Li Jianqing and Leng Qing arrived.

When Iro saw Leng Qing, she froze and stood up, exclaiming, "Why is she here?"

Hearing this, the newly arrived Li Xianglu raised her eyebrows, listening as Li Jianqing said, "Iro, I made it very clear that day, I am dating Leng Qing."

Iro shook her head stubbornly, looking at Li Jianqing, "Jianqing, you can’t date someone else just to spite me. I came here especially to tell you that I’m really getting divorced now, my mother also agrees for us to be together."

Sha Xinyu glanced at Leng Qing sitting across from her, frowning and turning to Li Xianglu, "It’s not appropriate for her to be here when our two families are discussing matters."

Li Xianglu glanced at Sha Xinyu, then at Li Jianqing and calmly said, "Aunt Ai, Iro came here a few days ago, and my third uncle made things very clear to her. Currently, my third uncle is dating Leng Qing, and both families are aware of this situation. I don’t know why you came today, but there’s nothing inappropriate about Leng Qing being here."

Sha Xinyu couldn’t believe it; she came to discuss their marriage, how could it have turned into this? So, she turned to look at Iro.

At this moment, Iro was also stunned, her eyes filled with tears, "Jianqing, are you really going to be this heartless? Don’t you love me anymore?"

Li Jianqing sighed and said, "Iro, from the moment you agreed to marry someone else, I had already let go."

Iro shook her head in disbelief, "But that time at the hospital, you fought with Wan Mingxiang because of me. Wasn’t it for me? You were in pain for me, you still love me. Why won’t you admit it!"
