Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 452: I’ll Be There for You
Hannah Jennings was escorted out by two "security guards" in black suits. After entering the elevator, one of them coldly said, "Miss, if you’d like to taste the flavor of a rag, you can keep making noise."
Hannah was scared by the emotionless voice, quickly covered her mouth, and after exiting the elevator, hurriedly walked several steps, defiantly saying, "No need to escort me, I can walk on my own!"
But the two men in black still watched her get into the car before turning around and heading back to The Sterling Building.
Ruby Sullivan initially wanted to ask Ethan Sterling’s opinion about the interview, but didn’t expect to hear some juicy gossip, "Who is Leah Bennett?" She honestly didn’t know anyone by that name, but there weren’t many people who had recently offended her, so she had a vague idea.
"The sister of the Sheffield Family’s daughter-in-law."
Ruby immediately remembered what he had said while dancing before, and couldn’t help but be shocked, "Did you really ruin their event?" That’s pretty wicked, no wonder Hannah would come here regardless of reputation to speak on her friend’s behalf.
Ethan looked at her disdainful expression, slightly discontented, "Do you have a problem with that?"
Actually, it’s not a big deal; it’s just that this woman had spent some time in Coreana and Siamara, and almost every part of her body has undergone surgery.
She worked so hard to achieve that appearance; one can only imagine how shocking her original look must have been.
Ethan had just gathered a few before-and-after photos of this woman and appropriately shared them with a few people.
"Let’s talk about you." Ethan saw her chuckle sheepishly, showing a flattering expression, unwilling to investigate further.
Ruby took a deep breath, "I want to take advantage of the current buzz to make a public disclosure about me and you. Of course, it won’t be the whole truth, just select things that can be said." If the image can be cleaned, it’s also good for Ethan.
"As long as you’re happy."
"Aren’t you worried? The more people know about me, in case L gets impulsive and...throws it out there, then..." She lowered her head, unable to mention the issue candidly in front of him.
Ethan held her hand, smiling, "It’d be better if he exposes it sooner; I will face it with you." He knew this issue was like a ticking time bomb in Ruby’s heart, with the remote control in someone else’s hands. Since he couldn’t snatch the remote control away temporarily, it’s better to let the bomb explode sooner rather than having the ability to clean up the mess.
"Will the two little ones misunderstand?"
"I think they shouldn’t understand these matters now. As they grow up and understand more, they will realize what a great choice their mom made." Ethan looked at her tenderly, his eyes full of encouragement.
What to do? She seemed to have forgotten to prepare for the eventual separation again... Ruby Sullivan looked at him stupidly, only left with a silly smile.
After returning to Nirvana, Ruby just said a word to Howard, then immediately called Dragon Girl, wanting to accept a special interview.
This visit will be turned into an electronic publication, released as an independent supplement, with 300 redemption coupons distributed to Nirvana. Anyone purchasing Nirvana’s any fragrance product for over 500 yuan will receive an electronic code to redeem this electronic publication on the VS website.
Howard rushed overnight to produce an announcement and a resume for Rhonda Sullivan as a perfumer, recording the perfumes she assisted in seven years ago while at The Lawson Group, and her later independent concoctions, along with some related stories.
Ruby and Howard were busy with this matter until after midnight, finally getting all the draft ready.
Ruby was so tired that she kept yawning. Howard wanted to drive her home, and as they left the company, they found Ethan Sterling waiting outside.
Ruby was very surprised, "Why didn’t you come inside?"
"Afraid of disturbing you." Ethan explained.
Howard glanced at him, still feeling awkward inside, said goodbye to Ruby, and left without even greeting Ethan.
Only then did Ruby realize there was a problem between Howard and Ethan.
She asked in astonishment, "What did you do to our Abigail?"
Abigail is Howard’s full name.
Ethan wrapped his arm around her shoulder, raised his hand to pinch her nose, "I don’t like that prefix."
"Oh, come on, just answer me first." Ruby felt she wasn’t wrong to say it this way; Howard is Nirvana’s CFO, her right hand man. She could leave Nirvana for a few days, but if Howard took a week off, Nirvana might not be able to manage.
"Nothing big, just that kid standing up for you, thinking that it was me who wanted to block Nirvana’s path, and doing that was too unethical." Ethan said lightly.
"Why didn’t you explain?"
"What’s there to explain? I did think that way but didn’t act on it." Besides, he felt it was good that the kid was part of their family; don’t change that, and he’d feel more assured.
Ruby curled her lips, thinking it wasn’t a big deal, her thoughts shifted, probing as she said, "The interview is arranged for tomorrow morning, maybe some photos in the afternoon."
"Okay." Ethan rubbed her head, "What time tomorrow?"
"Ten o’clock."
"When we get back later, I’ll give you a massage, ensuring you sleep sweet and sound tonight." He was so serious, not at all like a bluff.
But it didn’t deceive Ruby’s ears, "Who said you could stay over tonight?"
"I was just concerned about your insomnia at night, so I kindly offered to accompany you, but if you’re unwilling, that’s fine."
Ruby saw him pretend to be all arrogant, bursting into laughter, tightly clutching his arm, hanging onto him, "Willing, willing, a hundred times willing, is that enough?"
Early in the morning, Lara brought some prepared clothes to help Ruby with her makeup. Though her makeup skills are slightly less than those of a professional, they’re sufficient for emergencies.
This time, three dresses were prepared: a black fallen angel dress worn by Ruby at a charity gala, a dark gray pleated chiffon skirt, and a champagne gold deep V long dress.
After putting them on, she embodied an image of an independent big woman that was sexy, confident, and competent.
The interview went very smoothly, because it was an urgent supplement aimed at capturing the buzz, so the complete item would be published after typesetting and drafting that very night, and would be up for sale the next day.
The photographer knew the task was demanding, so he was very careful during the shoot. Good raw photos could greatly reduce the workload of the editor.
Though Ruby wasn’t facing the camera for the first time, it had been three years since her last independent interview, and last year, she was with Ethan, who boost her emotions.
The photographer took several shots but wasn’t satisfied; the person was clearly beautiful, but appeared stiff as a wooden doll in front of the camera, losing all vitality, and such photos couldn’t be used.
He felt a bit dejected, "Wenny, take a break now, adjust your emotions. You’re very beautiful, be confident." If this continued, not even working overtime all night could get it published by tomorrow.
Ruby took a sip of water and quietly went to a less crowded place to make a phone call.
