City's Best Divine Doctor-Chapter 1757 - 1717: Growing Worse
When Huo Yingying woke up, she felt her throat was even more uncomfortable, like there was something foreign lodged in it, as if she had a cold and fever.
How could this happen?
She had thought that after taking those throat lozenges, her throat would feel much better, but now it was getting worse.
"Aunt Li, Aunt Li," Huo Yingying called out.
When Li Fanghua came over, she asked, "Yingying, how are you?"
"I feel my throat is more uncomfortable." Li Fanghua could tell just from her voice and hurriedly brought her a cup of boiled water to drink, but even after gulping it down, Huo Yingying still felt very uncomfortable.
"Aunt Li, I’m afraid I won’t be able to speak, and this concert will be ruined. What should we do?"
If Huo Yingying wasn’t worried before, she was truly worried now.
Although she felt a strong foreign sensation and discomfort in her throat and her voice had become hoarse, she didn’t show any symptoms of a cold or fever.
She really didn’t know what was wrong with her.
"I’ll contact the organizers and check on the situation."
If it doesn’t work out, we can only refund the tickets. As for the venue cost and other initial expenses, her company would have to cover them.
Li Fanghua contacted the organizer and told them that Huo Yingying suddenly felt unwell and the concert might have to be canceled.
However, no decision had been made yet.
The organizers were anxious upon hearing this.
How could something like this happen?
Undoubtedly, the organizers were even more nervous than Huo Yingying and her team, because most of the concert tickets had been sold. If it really got messed up, the impact on the organizers would be significant.
Besides the concert tickets, all those advertisements and everything had been accepted, and handling this would be incredibly troublesome.
"I’ll first take Miss Huo to see a doctor."
After hanging up the phone, Li Fanghua knew she had to take her to a doctor again.
Even if it wasn’t for the concert, since Huo Yingying’s throat was uncomfortable, she definitely needed to see a doctor.
After simply dressing up, wearing masks and sunglasses, the two of them came downstairs. The two men in suits had already sold the photos they’d taken, distributing them to major media outlets in Hong Kong and mainland.
Photos sold to those entertainment magazines fetched higher prices, ranging from hundreds of thousands to tens of thousands per piece, while others were not as expensive.
However, since the photos were in their hands, they could also sell the negatives to Huo Yingying’s company.
After all, that’s how these Hong Kong paparazzi make their money; how else would they earn?
Unexpectedly, upon seeing Li Fanghua and Huo Yingying coming down from the hotel and getting into a dedicated hotel car to leave, the two men immediately followed in their car.
Earlier, they had only found out that Huo Yingying, under the name of Li Fanghua, had visited the ENT department at Jinling People’s Hospital, not the gynecology department as rumored.
Now, they continued to follow.
While sitting in the car, Huo Yingying and Li Fanghua asked, "Sir, my sister is unwell; which hospital in Jinling is better for throat issues?" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"Besides Jinling People’s Hospital, it’s Jinling Affiliated Hospital," answered the dedicated driver.
Generally, citizens of Jinling would recommend these two hospitals. Additionally, if one wanted traditional Chinese medicine, they could go to Jinling Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, as these three don’t overcharge their patients terribly.
Earlier, Li Fanghua had already taken Huo Yingying to Jinling People’s Hospital and got some medicine, but they hadn’t taken it yet.
"Let’s go to the Affiliated Hospital then."
The hotel’s dedicated car drove them to the Affiliated Hospital, both sitting there with furrowed brows.
Upon arriving at the Affiliated Hospital, Li Fanghua asked the driver to wait as they got out and headed inside.
The two men in suits followed quickly, taking photos of the silhouettes.
At other times, Huo Yingying and Li Fanghua would have been wary of suspicious paparazzi following them, but now they ignored it.
"Who would have thought, they’ve changed hospitals again. It seems this concert of the Huo family’s eldest daughter is doomed."
"Do you think if they found out we were behind this, they’d kill us?"
"Surely, we’ll have to lay low domestically for a while."
The two got out of the car and followed in quickly.
Inside, Li Fanghua and Huo Yingying made enquiries at the front desk and proceeded to the ENT department at the Affiliated Hospital.
However, at the Affiliated Hospital, there’s a distinction between Western and traditional Chinese medicine, so one could choose either.
They decided to see a traditional Chinese medicine doctor first and found quite a few people in the TCM section. Li Fanghua handled the registration for Huo Yingying and queued up. It was almost 1 PM when it was finally Huo Yingying’s turn.
"Miss Li, what seems to be the problem?" asked the rosy-cheeked elderly TCM doctor.
"My throat is uncomfortable. I woke up this morning with a hoarse voice and, after a nap, now feel a foreign object sensation," explained Huo Yingying as she sat there.
"Open your mouth; let me have a look."
As Huo Yingying took off her mask and opened her mouth, the elderly doctor shone a flashlight in, checked her tongue, took her pulse, and asked about her bowel movements and recent diet.
The elderly doctor stated directly, "Miss Li, no need to worry. It’s nothing serious; it’s just that the weather’s gotten hotter recently and something in your diet caused this heat."
"When can it be better?"
"The fastest is three to five days."
The elderly doctor stated directly.
Three to five days at the fastest?
That definitely wasn’t going to work.
"Is there a faster way?"
Huo Yingying asked eagerly.
The elderly doctor shook his head saying, "No, Miss Li, being anxious won’t help. Take it slow, this isn’t a major illness. Go back, take your medicine, rest well, and drink plenty of water and it’ll be fine."
Not in a hurry?
That was absolutely impossible.
Li Fanghua also was at a loss for what to say, as this was her first encounter with such a problem since becoming Huo Yingying’s manager.
Receiving the prescription from the elderly doctor, it turned out to be a concoction of traditional Chinese medicine to be brewed at home.
"Aunt Li, what should we do now?" Huo Yingying was at a loss.
"Let’s also consult Western medicine."
After registering for the ENT department under Western medicine, they waited another half-hour. When it was her turn, the attending Western doctor said directly, "Miss Li, it might be inflammation in your throat, let’s get an X-ray first."
However, the attending physician recommended she first do a check-up, primarily a CT scan of the throat area.
So, Huo Yingying and Li Fanghua went to get the scan and returned with the images. The attending physician asked, "Miss Li, have you been speaking for long periods recently?"
It wasn’t long periods of speaking, just rehearsals, which require singing practice.
Huo Yingying could only nod.
"It’s likely inflammation due to long periods of speaking. Let’s try some IV therapy."
