Yue Jie paced around, sat down on her bed and paced around again.

She had been waiting the whole night for Lin Xuan Qi.

Everything had been prepared, tea, snacks, and even her attire.

The past few days had been hectic for Lin Xuan Qi and she wanted him to be able to recover from all the fatigue before going on the trip.

However, there was only one last crucial element missing.

"Maybe he is still busy with work." She mumbled to herself and gave out a long sigh before she heard the creak of the door.

Finally, Lin Xuan Qi had arrived.

Yue Jie’s expression turned into a smile immediately when she saw him step into the room in a great mood.

His face was beaming with joy and giving out a huge smile.

Lin Xuan Qi glanced at her and said, "I gotten much more busier than I’ve expected.

"You’ve been waiting all this time?"

He didn’t expect the conjuring of the pills to take up much of the night and had expected her to be asleep by now.

Yue Jie shook her head, walked over to the tea table and poured him a cup of tea, "There are some snacks I’ve asked the servants to prepare, have some."

Lin Xuan Qi nodded and sat down by the tea table.

He was indeed tired and hungry after using up his Five-Element Qi.

The snacks were mung bean cakes that were sweet and went well with the tea.

He had a bite and took a sip of the tea.

While he was doing so, Yue Jie rummaged in her closet full of clothes and took out something from it.

"It’s getting cold out there. I’ve made you something for the trip." She held a fur coat and held it against his shoulders, trying to see if it fit.

"You shouldn’t have." He said and put down the teacup.

After which, Lin Xuan Qi took the fur coat from her, stood up and tried it on.

Yue Jie took a step back and marveled at her husband, looking great in her handiwork.

He gave her a smirk, took a glance at the bed and said, "I guess I’ll have to give something back in return later."

She frowned and shook her head, "You must be tired, we can just..."

Her face blushed and she lowered her head.

Lin Xuan Qi took a step forward, brushed the strands of hair from her face and got closer.

"So, we can just... what?" He whispered into her ear and she blinked at him.

Yue Jie wanted him to rest but with him in her presence, she longed for something more than that.

She quickly changed the topic and said, "I have something serious to discuss with you."

"Something serious? We have no money left?" Lin Xuan Qi said in jest.

She rolled her eyes and said, "No. It’s about Yue Xin."

"What about Yue Xin?" He took off the coat after being satisfied with it and sat back down onto the seat by the tea table.

Yue Jie took a seat beside him and said, "She is still young and curious about the world.

"I will make sure that she doesn’t forget about her role and responsibility.

"But if she makes a little mistake or two, don’t be too hard on her."

Lin Xuan Qi took a sip of the tea and nodded his head.

He was used to how Yue Xin was and Yue Xin had changed a lot since she had come to the mansion.

And he was glad that Yue Jie wasn’t feeling jealous about Yue Xin being able to accompany him on the trip.

"Don’t worry. I will take good care of her." He said and Yue Jie felt better with his assurance.

Yue Jie glanced at him and saw his tired eyes.

She quickly picked up one of the mung bean cakes and fed him.

After which, she tried to massage his shoulders with her hands.

Lin Xuan Qi munched on the mung bean cake in his mouth and closed his eyes.

His shoulders relaxed from Yue Jie’s touch and he savored this moment being treated like a king.

It was a change for him for Yue Jie to do something like this but he certainly didn’t mind.

That’s part of living life as husband and concubine.

"Is it fine for you?" Yue Jie asked, not knowing if she was doing it right.

She had only heard about giving massages from her sisters when she was still a young mistress.

But fortunately, she was on the right track.

Lin Xuan Qi nodded his head and replied, "It’s great but it could be better."

"Better? How?"

Yue Jie frowned and thought that he was up to no good again.

She tried to struggle free and said, "You might have a long tiring trip after tomorrow, best for you to take a good night’s sleep instead."
