Classless Awakening; My Dragon Is Legendary-Chapter 55: Meeting Eldrion
Derrick’s eyes fluttered open, the faint whisper of his thoughts echoed within his head.
The voices of Sir Thompson and a stranger echoed through his mind.
His moment of confusion only lasted a few seconds. The next thing he felt was a rush of energy unlike ever before.
His eyes shot open, and his body shot up, startling Sir Thompson.
"Was he supposed to wake up this fast?" Sir Thompson asked the man beside him who had an expressionless look on his face.
"I... I’m also stunned." The man spoke, his voice shaky, unable to believe the scene before him.
"What happened?" Derrick asked, his heart beating erratically.
[You fell unconscious, so I gave you something for energy.]
"You... Were critically injured while fighting some forest beasts." Sir Thompson broke the news.
Derrick stared at his bare chest, his hands and eyes scanned through them for any remainder of the attack.
He could still feel the sharp pains coming from his stomach, but he could tell it wasn’t anything fatal.
"How?" Derrick asked, his voice low, and his head bowed.
"How what?" Sir Thompson was careful to approach, scared that whatever he said might set Derrick off.
"How did I survive this?" Derrick asked, fully aware that he survived thanks to the draconic transformation.
What he was curious about was the aftermath of his Dragonic transformation. Without any control, Derrick knew he was a danger.
"I healed you." The man in the corner of the room finally spoke up.
His voice was filled with power and authority, and all around him was an aura Derrick was strangely familiar with.
He had long golden blonde hair, beautiful golden eyes, a well-chiseled body, and milky skin that radiated pure elegance.
For a second, Derrick was stunned. He wondered if this was a human, or an elf. A simple gaze behind the ears answered his question.
"Eldrion?" Derrick asked, the words strange in his mouth.
"I see you’ve told the kid quite some things about me?" Eldrion looked at Sir Thompson, who nodded slightly.
[He looks... Youthful.]
The system confirmed what Derrick had been thinking; Eldrion looked several years younger than Sir Thompson.
In fact, he would say Eldrion looked to be in his mid-twenties, but that was far from it.
"Yes, I am Eldrion the rumored. One of the only humans to ever be born with a grandmaster talent," Eldrion declared proudly.
"Derrick." Derrick stretched his hand, he knew he needed no introduction.
"So your affinity helps you heal people?" Derrick said while trying to stand. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
His feet touched the ground, but as soon as his body was erect, he felt a sharp pain coming from his right side.
Derrick grit his teeth, managing to hide the pain. He didn’t want to show weakness in front of Eldrion.
"No, I used Varyn and a few potions to heal you." Eldrion answered honestly and Derrick nodded.
"I’m sorry my test was quite... Difficult." Eldrion’s words slightly infuriated Derrick, but he forced a smile.
His mind and body had been put through hell in the forest fight, and all that for a test?
"So, I was told you are the cause of the beasts in the barrier?" Eldrion asked to confirm.
"Yes." Derrick didn’t want to dwell on that topic. Whatever happened was in the past, he just needed to get what he came for and then leave.
"Thompson, I think I can handle it from here," Eldrion said with veiled annoyance.
He didn’t like having anyone in his home, training Derrick was a stretch, and having Sir Thompson here was a crowd.
Sir Thompson nodded understandably, with a snap of his fingers his body vanished into thin air.
"So, you are the one." Eldrion’s tone shifted from respectful to slightly condescending.
"I expected you to be a little taller, and maybe a little less scrawny." Eldrion stared at Derrick like a butcher inspecting their animal.
"That’s funny, considering you’ve been stalking me for quite some time now," Derrick said confidently, and the look on Eldrion’s face changed.
"At first, I thought it was Royal Knight, or just my mind playing tricks, but after meeting you, I knew I had sensed your aura before," Derrick said proudly.
"I see your spiritual side is quite sharp." Eldrion nodded his head.
"There is still some work to be done," Eldrion’s words puzzled Derrick.
"What do you mean?" Derrick asked, trying to clear his confusion.
"I prefer to break down the aspects of our powers into three," Eldrion began, explaining.
"Physical, spiritual and mental, I believe you should understand these three?" Eldrion asked and Derrick nodded.
Physical abilities were just that, things Derrick could do without requiring any magic, enchantment or things like that.
Spiritual encompassed both magical and Varyn-like abilities, anything that wasn’t physical, but at the same time not mental.
Mental abilities dealt with intelligence, memory, and Derrick’s unique emotional affinity.
"Physically, you’re not too bad, but you’re not the best."
"Mentally, you just need a little work done."
"Spiritually, you are not bad, but still lacking," Eldrion analyzed.
"And you can tell all these how?" Derrick asked, wondering when and where Eldrion had done all this research.
He knew Eldrion stalked him, but at the same time, it wasn’t excessive.
"I’m Eldrion kid, you cannot even fathom the foundation of my abilities." Eldrion chuckled.
For a second, Derrick was amazed. Eldrion seemed to be a person of many talents, the reality of the situation was slowly dawning on him.
’Is this how I appear to others?’ Derrick asked himself, unaware that he had an even greater effect on other people.
"So, first things first, we’re going to deal with Varyn training," Eldrion said confidently.
"Varyn training?" Derrick asked. Deep down he wasn’t really concerned about Varyn.
His major concern was increasing his speed and strength, to allow him to slay more beasts.
"Yes, Varyn training." Eldrion didn’t stutter, he knew what needed to be done.
"Come show me that dragon spirit I saw earlier.
