Chapter 775: Chapter 775: A Cheng, this flower smells so good, what color is it?

Xia Duoduo spoke seriously, "Don’t worry, I’m not here to cling obsessively. I’ll return to the set tomorrow. Before I leave, I just want to clear things up with him. After all, we’re in the same company; I don’t want things to be awkward when we meet in the future." 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶

Ji Wei thought for a moment and nodded, "Alright, I’ll ask Mo Qian. He should know Mr. Ye’s current residence."

...

Xia Duoduo parked the car and glanced through the window at the Halfway to Mountain Villa hidden among the shadows of the trees. She hesitated for a few seconds before finally pushing open the car door.

Ji Wei told her that Ye Cheng lived here.

She also mentioned that this was actually Zimei’s home.

Ye Cheng and Zimei lived together...

The thought of this fact made Xia Duoduo’s heart ache sharply.

She approached the security booth at the villa’s entrance and explained her reason for coming. The security guard informed her that Zimei and Ye Cheng had gone out and hadn’t returned.

Xia Duoduo felt an overwhelming sense of disappointment.

She stood there looking inside the villa. She thought to herself, she and Ye Cheng truly mustn’t be fated. She had wanted to see him one last time before leaving, but once again, he wasn’t here.

Noticing the woman standing there with a despondent expression, the security guard asked sympathetically, "Would you like to leave a message? I can relay it to Mr. Ye for you."

Xia Duoduo snapped out of her daze and shook her head slowly, "Thank you, but it’s not necessary."

She lifted her somewhat heavy steps and walked back toward her car.

Just as Xia Duoduo was about to reach for the car door, she suddenly noticed a familiar figure not far away.

Ye Cheng was carrying Zimei on his back, walking in this direction. On that face as cold as an iceberg, there was actually a faint smile.

He turned his head and was speaking to the woman on his back, without noticing what lay ahead.

Xia Duoduo’s heart clenched abruptly. Seeing the two drawing closer, she instinctively ducked to the other side of the car.

Gradually, their voices reached her ears—

"A Cheng, you must be so tired carrying me for this long. Why don’t you put me down and rest for a while?" Zimei’s voice was coquettish and soft, devoid of her usual assertive dominance, and instead carried a touch of tenderness.

"I’m not tired." Ye Cheng’s words came with faint panting.

It was clear he wasn’t being honest.

"Put me down. I want to stand for a bit, alright?" Zimei added.

He could never refuse anything Zimei asked of him, so he nodded and said, "Okay."

Her feet touched the ground, and one hand instinctively clung to his arm, perhaps seeking a sense of security.

Zimei still wore sunglasses. Her face was sharp, pale, and stunningly beautiful. On her head was a beige wide-brimmed straw hat, and she donned a light-colored long dress. The white belt around her waist highlighted her graceful figure. Her charm was so extraordinary—it was obvious at a glance that she was a breathtaking beauty.

Ye Cheng, on the other hand, wore a white V-neck T-shirt paired with shorts. Though his attire was casual and relaxed, his striking appearance remained impossible to overlook.

Their outfits resembled those of a couple out on a trip.

Zimei brought the wildflowers she was holding to her nose and took a sniff, her smile radiant. "A Cheng, these flowers smell so good. What color are they?"

Ye Cheng gazed at her beautiful face, his phoenix eyes filled with pain. He spoke with some difficulty, "They’re purple, and white."

"They must be lovely, right? What a pity I can’t admire them," Zimei said, her smile unfading as she spoke, her tone still calm.

But Ye Cheng’s heart wrenched hard.

"You will," he said.

Suppressing his emotions as best he could, his voice was gentle as he continued, "Do you remember Professor Smith from D Country? He once said that your eyes aren’t completely beyond hope for recovery. As long as there’s even the slightest chance, we can’t give up."
