Walking quickly into the hospital room, Ji Wei finally breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Old Madam Ji lying peacefully on the bed.

Gu Moqian finished his phone call and walked in, standing behind Ji Wei.

The woman kept vigil by Old Madam Ji’s bedside, holding her elderly hand. Her eyes were red as she stared at grandma’s pale, serene face without blinking.

He placed his hand on Ji Wei’s shoulder, gently patting it to reassure her, "Grandma will be fine."

Ji Wei turned her head to look at him inquisitively.

"For now, Ji Shanshan hasn’t been caught... Our people are still searching." Gu Moqian replied, his eyes deep and dark.

Ji Wei silently nodded, then turned her head back to look at Old Madam Ji.

Ji Shanshan being bold enough to call and tell her where she was meant she was prepared to escape. Ji Wei wasn’t surprised she couldn’t be found.

After staying with the old madam for a while longer, Ji Wei finally stood up.

Gu Moqian supported her as they walked out of the hospital room.

They stood by the corridor.

"Mo Qian, do you know the relationship between Ji Shanshan and William?" Ji Wei voiced the doubt in her heart.

Gu Moqian nodded, "Yes, if my guess is right, when Ji Shanshan fell into the sea back then, the person who saved her should have been William."

Ji Wei was shocked, her mouth slightly agape.

She hadn’t expected there to be this connection between Ji Shanshan and William...

"Then, William should know most clearly where Ji Shanshan is at the moment." Ji Wei remarked after a moment of contemplation.

Gu Moqian’s gaze suddenly darkened, "He won’t say, but I’ve already sent someone to follow him secretly. They’ll report to me as soon as anything happens."

Ji Wei nodded.

So much had happened in just one day; she still hadn’t quite processed it all.

Ji Shanshan actually wanted to kill Old Madam Ji. This matter particularly shocked and saddened her.

She hung up the phone and walked back, but Gu Moqian was no longer on the corridor.

Ji Wei assumed he’d gone into the hospital room and was about to follow him when she suddenly saw Gu Moqian rush into the restroom quickly in a somewhat hurried and panicked manner.

Without giving it much more thought, she returned to the hospital room to continue watching over Old Madam Ji.

Ji Wei breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.

She held her grandma’s hand and nodded at the doctor, "Thank you, doctor."

After the doctor departed, Ji Wei waited another twenty minutes, but Gu Moqian didn’t return. She suddenly began to worry as she thought of the syringes and drugs she’d seen in the secret compartment.

Ji Wei briefly instructed and then got up to leave.
