Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!-Chapter 853: A Physical Examination for You
Concerned about his overexertion, Ji Wei carried a bowl of nourishing soup and pushed open the study door.
"Coming back has turned you into a workaholic, no regard for your health?" Ji Wei said with a smile, placing the bowl of soup in front of Mo Qian on the desk.
The man did not look away, his expression still cold and solemn as he stared at the computer screen, seemingly tireless, ignoring Ji Wei’s words.
"How about a sip of soup?" Ji Wei lifted the bowl, personally spooning a mouthful to his lips.
Mo Qian finally responded, glancing at her lightly: "Leave it."
"Oh..." Ji Wei replied with a hint of disappointment, putting the bowl back on the table as he said.
Mo Qian treated her as air, still focused on the work in front of him, while Ji Wei stood watching him for a while, noticing his efficient and precise responses to piled-up emails, as if he had handled them a thousand times with familiarity and control.
He hadn’t forgotten any work matters, so why had he forgotten her?
Ji Wei stood behind Mo Qian for a long time, with him never speaking to her. Not wanting to disturb him further, she quietly closed the door and left.
On the balcony, the cool evening breeze cleared her thoughts somewhat. She took out her phone and called Doctor Shi.
"Mo Qian is back. Could you come for a visit?"
Shi Ye, though surprised, quickly agreed.
Approximately twenty minutes later, Shi Ye arrived at Shanshui Manor.
Ji Wei took him to the study, and upon seeing Shi Ye, Mo Qian recognized him at once: "What are you doing here?"
Shi Ye exchanged a glance with Ji Wei, a faint smile on his lips as he walked toward him: "I’m a doctor. Naturally, I’m here to check on your health."
"I... I’ll step out. Call me if needed." Ji Wei glanced at Mo Qian, turned around, and left, closing the door.
Ji Wei assumed Shi Ye would need some time to conduct his examination, but he came out shortly after.
She hadn’t left, and seeing Shi Ye, she immediately approached him to inquire: "Doctor Shi, what’s the situation?"
"His body has recovered well. There are no issues," Shi Ye answered.
"But... he doesn’t remember me," Ji Wei felt shocked and anxious: "He even remembers Chen Ke, remembers the household staff, but uniquely does not remember me..."
Shi Ye looked at her with slight surprise, pondering for a moment before speaking: "Medically, there are such cases. This is likely selective amnesia. Things he prefers not to recall or that are too important might be forgotten after a trauma."
"How long does this generally last? Is there any chance of recovery?" Ji Wei’s heart sank further upon hearing this.
"I don’t know either," Shi Ye answered truthfully, "It varies from person to person; some may recover after months, others may take years, even longer."
Ji Wei’s face turned pale upon hearing this. She clenched her fingers, striving to control her emotions.
After a pause, Shi Ye suddenly took out his wallet, extracting a business card to hand to Ji Wei: "My teacher, Professor Man Kun, is an expert in amnesia. Maybe you could take Mr. Gu to D Country and consult my teacher."
Ji Wei dazedly accepted the card, seeing the English words noting D Country Royal Medical University, Professor Man Kun.
"Thank you, Doctor Shi." Ji Wei cast a grateful glance toward him.
