Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off-Chapter 347: Xuyu’s Advice
Upstairs, while the men downstairs were dazed by her voice, Su Qinglan was actually having a very difficult time. Her head felt like it was going to explode.
The pain was so sharp that she was whimpering in her sleep, her brows furrowed in a deep frown. It turned out that draining her Level 4 Plant Type Ability to zero had a nasty side effect.
Suddenly, a mechanical voice rang out in her mind. It was Xuyu, her system.
"Host, you really are a piece of work," Xuyu said, sounding like a disappointed parent.
"I told you to be careful. You should not have used all your energy on that lion. Look at you now. Your brain is practically frying."
Su Qinglan whimpered in her mind, feeling miserable. "Shut up, Xuyu. It hurts so much. Do you have a solution or are you just here to lecture me? My head feels like it’s being stepped on by a mammoth."
Xuyu immediately chimed back with an overly cheerful tone. "Of course I have a solution, host! I’ve told you before. You have several ’walking power boosters’ living right in this house with you."
Su Qinglan paused, her mental voice suspicious. "What do you mean, ’walking power boosters’?"
"Oh, don’t act innocent!" Xuyu teased shamelessly.
"Just drag one of those handsome beastmen onto the bed. Have a little ’intimate recovery session’ with them. Tada! Instant energy boost! If you sleep with them properly, the spiritual bond will refill your tank in no time, and your headache will vanish. Plus, it might finally push you past Level 4!"
Su Qinglan felt her face heat up even in her half-conscious state. "You... you’re a shameless system! I’m in pain and you’re telling me to drag someone in my bed?"
"Host, it’s just science," Xuyu replied with a virtual shrug.
"You are a high-level female. Their energy wants to merge with yours. Why suffer with a headache when you have a perfectly good tiger, wolf, or fox right there? Even that lion is looking pretty ’recharging’ right now."
Su Qinglan wanted to slap the system if it had a face. "I am not dragging anyone! Give me medicine or something!"
"Medicines are expensive, but husbands are free," Xuyu retorted. "Think about it. One night of ’hard work’ and you’ll wake up glowing. Otherwise, enjoy the migraine!"
Su Qinglan groaned. The pain was getting worse. She felt Hu Yan’s warm chest next to her and unconsciously leaned into him, her feminine instincts starting to override her shyness because of the system’s annoying but true advice.
She finally forced her eyes open. The first thing she saw was Hu Yan’s face hovering over her, his eyes filled with extreme worry.
"Lan Lan, what’s wrong? Where does it hurt?" Hu Yan asked, his voice trembling. He had been watching her sleep calmly, but then she had suddenly started whimpering and biting her lip so hard it began to bleed.
He was so restless he didn’t know what to do. He gently wiped the blood from her lip with his thumb. "Is it your body? Did the healing take too much out of you?"
Su Qinglan couldn’t answer him with words.
The migraine from her drained energy was so sharp she could only let out painful groans. Her head felt like it was being poked with needles.
But then, she remembered the system’s shameless advice. She looked at Hu Yan...her big, warm "walking power booster."
Before Hu Yan could say another word, Su Qinglan suddenly moved. With a burst of desperate strength, she pushed him back onto the bed and climbed on top of him.
She leaned down and kissed his lips fiercely, her breath hitching.
"Hu Yan... help me..." she moaned against his mouth.
Hu Yan was completely stunned. His brain stalled for a second. He thought she was crying out because the pain was too much to bear.
"Yes, Lan Lan! I will help you!" he said clumsily, trying to sit up.
"Wait, let me go downstairs. I’ll bring you the herbs to lessen the pain. Just hold on, don’t worry!"
He truly believed she was asking for herbs. He tried to get up to find the herbs, but Su Qinglan didn’t let him move. She leaned down and bit his lower lip, her eyes misty and dark with desire.
"The herb that can lessen my pain is right here," she whispered, her voice sultry and low.
Hu Yan froze, his eyes widening. "What?"
Su Qinglan didn’t explain. She kissed him again, more passionately this time, and began pulling at his clothes with impatient hands.
She was embarrassed, so she wasn’t about to tell him that sleeping with him would recover her energy. She had to make up an excuse.
"You... it’s you," she said, her face flushing a deep red as she buried her head in his neck. "Help me... it feels itchy down there..."
Hu Yan’s heart skipped a beat, and his entire body turned hot. What is Lan Lan even talking about...weren’t they just cuddling with each other? How did things suddenly change to this?
He was completely stunned. Even though his body was reacting to her touch, his mind was still trying to be responsible.
He grabbed her shoulders gently and tried to pull back. "No, Lan Lan... you just gave birth! It hasn’t even been a month. How could I? I would be a beast if I hurt you now."
But Su Qinglan wasn’t listening to his logic.
The headache from her drained energy was making her bold. She leaned forward and bit his neck again, making him gasp.
"I am perfectly fine," she whispered in a groggy, insistent voice. "I healed myself a long time ago. Just help me..."
Her hands began to wander dangerously down his chest, moving toward his waist. Hu Yan quickly caught her small hands, his face turning bright red.
"Lan Lan... ask me for anything else. This is not good! A female should recover until the cubs stop drinking milk. I can’t do this to you."
Su Qinglan stopped and looked at him. Her face was flushed, sweat was rolling down her forehead, and her eyes were red and misty from the pain in her head.
She looked so pitiful and beautiful at the same time that Hu Yan’s heart clenched.
"Hu Yan... are you really not going to listen to me?" she asked, her lip trembling.
Hu Yan nodded firmly, trying to be a "good husband." He really believed he was protecting her health.
He thought he was being very strong by refusing her. "I’m doing this for you, Lan Lan. I won’t harm you."
Su Qinglan suddenly stopped crying and let out a small smile. If he was going to be stubborn, she would have to be more direct.
She immediately shifted her body and sat on his abdomen.
"But Hu Yan," she whispered in a sweet, teasing voice, "your body is saying something completely different."
Hu Yan choked on his own breath, his face turning a shade of purple from embarrassment.
He started to stutter in a low voice, "I... that’s just... it’s a natural reaction!"
Su Qinglan didn’t give him another chance to speak.
