Chapter 405: Chapter 405: Lan Lan... are you pregnant?

Xuan Long and Han Jue were no longer hiding their intentions. They teased her openly, their hands wandering with a confidence that made Su Qinglan’s heart race.

She felt like a puddle of melted butter in their arms, unable to resist as their touches lit fires all over her skin.

"I’m much warmer than any dry hide, aren’t I, Lan Lan?" Han Jue whispered, his voice like silk.

Su Qinglan finally realized the truth.

Han Jue hadn’t sent Shi Feng and the cubs away to be "helpful."

He had planned this the moment he stepped into the cave. He wanted the house empty so he could have his way with her.

She trembled as Han Jue leaned down, deeply inhaling the scent of her hair before his hand moved from her stomach upward. He cupped one of her breasts, his thumb grazing the peak.

"Lan Lan," Han Jue murmured in her other ear, his fingers kneading the other side. "Are they still sore?"

Su Qinglan shook her head weakly, her eyes squeezed shut. She was too breathless to speak.

Ever since she had switched the cubs to formula milk fully, her own supply had dried up.

They weren’t sore at all, but the sensation of their hands on her was making her entire body hum.

Han Jue licked his lips, a flash of regret crossing his eyes.

He remembered Hu Yan bragging about how sweet her milk tasted. He had missed his chance to taste it himself, and now that it was gone, he felt a sting of jealousy.

But he didn’t dwell on it for long. Having her back in his arms was enough.

After weeks of searching and the agony of her disappearance, he felt like he was finally coming back to life.

Staying away from her was like being deprived of air.

"Lan Lan, did you miss me?" he asked, his voice thick with emotion as he fondled her while pecking at her shoulder. He desperately wanted to hear her say it.

But as his hand slid down to her flat, slightly sunken stomach, his face fell.

His brow furrowed.

She was so thin.

He felt a surge of anger at himself for letting her suffer, but then a sudden, terrifying thought struck him.

He looked up, his eyes wide. "Lan Lan... are you pregnant? Is that why you look so weak?"

He had heard that females became frail if they were pregnant without someone to feed them constantly.

She had been alone for weeks...if there was another cub in there, it would explain why she looked so drained.

The question hit the cave like a lightning bolt.

Xuan Long froze, his gaze immediately dropping to her belly with a mix of worry and dread.

In the corner, Rong Ye and Hu Yan, who had been watching the "shameless" display with envy, were stunned into silence.

Then, Rong Ye’s face turned from shocked to absolutely livid.

He didn’t wait a second. He lunged forward and grabbed Hu Yan by the throat, his fist cocked back. "You greedy, overstuffed tiger!" Rong Ye hissed.

"Have you no shame?! You already have two cubs! Did you really make her pregnant again?!"

Hu Yan was dazed.

At first, he was terrified, but then a blissful, smug expression took over his face.

Am I really that powerful? he thought.

She got pregnant the first time we mated, and now, after just one more time... I’m a legend.

His chest puffed out with pride. He looked ready to celebrate his own virility.

BAM!

A powerful punch from Rong Ye knocked that smug look right off his face, sending the tiger sprawling back.

Hu Yan snapped out of his daydream and roared, rubbing his jaw. "Rong Ye! Are you courting death?!"

Su Qinglan was stunned. This was the first time they had actually started a brawl right in front of her, and over such a ridiculous misunderstanding. Her shock quickly sharpened into a cold, prickly anger.

"Rong Ye! Stop it right now!" she roared, her voice echoing off the cave walls.

"What are you doing? How could you hit him? We are a family!" 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

She didn’t stop there. She reached up and slapped Han Jue’s wandering hands away, then shoved Xuan Long’s with all her might.

She snatched a dry hide from the floor and wrapped herself in it like a defensive cocoon, glaring at the four of them as if they were disobedient cubs.

"What are you all saying?! I am NOT pregnant, and I am NOT sick!" she scolded, her face flushed with indignation.

"You’ve all lost your minds. You want me to be ’fit,’ but then you want to feed me like a pig! What do you take me for? I have just lost weight; I am not sick!"

She pointed a trembling finger at Han Jue and Xuan Long. "And you both... Don’t touch me! Go and dry yourselves off. You look like drowned rats!"

Han Jue, usually the mastermind of every situation, suddenly looked quite stupid.

He stood there with his hands frozen in mid-air, realizing he was the one who had sparked the "pregnancy" panic.

Xuan Long looked even more bewildered; he had just wanted to be close to her, so why was he being yelled at too? Ehd didn’t even do anything.

Then her gaze landed on the naked, pouting fox. "And you, Rong Ye! First, put something on. Then, go face that wall. That is your punishment for starting a fight!"

"Lan Lan, no!" Rong Ye wailed, looking incredibly pitiful.

But Su Qinglan ignored him. Reluctantly, he tied a damp cloth around his waist and turned to face the stone wall, looking like a dejected child.

However, his ears twitched when he heard the rustle of fabric behind him. He couldn’t help it...he peeked.

He nearly had a massive nosebleed.

Su Qinglan, thinking they were all properly shamed, let the wet tribal skirt slide down her hips so she could reach for a fresh one.

The brief, beautiful "pink scenery" of her was on full display.

It wasn’t just Rong Ye; three other pairs of eyes were suddenly staring with an intensity that could have melted stone.

Su Qinglan felt the sudden heat on her back and turned around. When she saw four grown men staring at her like starving wolves, her eye twitched.

"OUT!" she screamed.

She practically kicked all four beastmen out of the cave.

"Go and hunt something! I’m hungry! Don’t come back until you have enough meat to feed a village!"

She stood at the entrance, watching them stumble over each other to get away from her wrath, before she turned back inside, muttering under her breath.

"These men... their thoughts are always stuck in one place. I almost gave in, and then they started a civil war over a belly that isn’t even there."

She sighed, her heart still thumping. She dropped the hide covering her and dried her hair vigorously.

Now that they were gone, she reached into her secret system space, and she pulled out a comfortable, loose maternity dress she had stored away.

She hadn’t dared to wear it before because she arrived with nothing; the coastal tribe would have been suspicious if a dress had appeared out of thin air.

But now that her "husbands" were here, she could just claim they brought her belongings across the sea.

The dress was a bit baggy on her now-thinner frame, so she tied a soft cloth around her waist to cinch it.

Completely unaware that the beastmen she had kicked out were now trying to beat each other up, each blaming the other for being thrown out.
