Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 121: Summer Lowell Realizes Her True Feelings
As evening approached, Summer Lowell, unwilling to embarrass herself by rejecting Justin Huxley, jumped into the pool for a couple of laps, then got dressed, grabbed her luggage from the room, and waited for Justin, who was chatting with Tina Huxley nearby, to return.
She wasn’t interested in staying any longer; all she wanted was to leave this hot spring hotel as soon as possible.
Just as she was getting impatient, Justin finally came back: "Are you really not willing to stay here tonight?"
"No, it’s fine, senior," Summer shook her head, "I’ve already called a car; it should be at the entrance soon."
"Why did you call a car yourself?" Justin frowned disapprovingly, "If you really don’t want to stay here longer, wouldn’t it be easier if I drove you back instead of you calling a car?"
Not wanting to trouble him any further, Summer smiled lightly: "The main thing is Vivian Sullivan forgot her key today; I need to get home quickly to give it to her."
Seeing that she was determined to leave, Justin didn’t say more and bent down to pick up her luggage: "Then I’ll see you to the hotel entrance. Make sure to message me when you get home, so I know you’ve arrived safely."
Just as they reached the entrance, they saw Maxim Sinclair driving Tina Huxley out.
Tina, not wanting to stop Maxim but having no choice but to maintain her image, reluctantly asked Maxim to drive to where Summer and Justin stood.
Tina rolled down the window: "Miss Lowell, are you heading back? Why not take a ride with Maxim?"
She then turned to Maxim on the other side: "Miss Lowell seems to be going back too; is it convenient to take her along?"
Before the startled Summer could refuse, she heard Maxim say: "This car can’t fit so many people; I still need to pick up my assistant later. With the driver, assistant, you, and me, the car is full. Miss Lowell should find her own way back."
Relieved that she didn’t have to share a ride with Maxim, Summer sighed in relief, but to her surprise, felt a tinge of disappointment emerge.
Almost as soon as Maxim’s car left, the car Summer had called arrived.
As Summer was about to head over with her things, she saw Justin take out his wallet, walk over to the driver’s side, slip a wad of cash into the driver’s hand, and say something with a smile.
Not knowing what he was up to, Summer approached: "Senior, what are you doing?"
Justin took her to the side of the road and gestured for the driver to leave. The driver nodded at him and drove off the way he came.
Summer was dumbfounded and stared at Justin in confusion: "I really do have something to do at home; stop messing around!"
"I’m not messing around," Justin patted her back with a smile, "If you’re not there, I don’t feel like hanging out either. I’ll drive you back; otherwise, I won’t enjoy myself, and I can’t trust you going back alone."
Unable to resist, Summer had to take his car back to her place.
Late at night, Vivian Sullivan, just returning from work, turned on the living room light and was startled by Summer standing by the floor-to-ceiling window: "What are you doing? Why aren’t you asleep? What are you staring into space for?"
Summer turned around and raised her glass: "You’re hardworking, coming home so late."
"It’s nothing; you just nearly scared me to death." Vivian kicked off her shoes, tossed her bag and coat messily on the floor, and collapsed on the sofa with a groan, "I’m really about to drop dead; why are there so many patients in domestic hospitals, especially in OBGYN? The number of patients I handle here in a week almost matches a month in Leonia."
"There are many people here." Summer picked up the massage tool beside her and tossed it to her, "But weren’t you in orthopedics before? Why did you switch to OBGYN?" 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
"I was assigned to orthopedics before, but OBGYN is my strong suit, as you know. The doctor on leave in orthopedics returned, so I don’t need to help out there anymore. The hospital has transferred me back to OBGYN, where I’ll stay for good," Vivian said, winking at Summer, "You should think about getting pregnant and having children early while I’m still around."
Summer suddenly thought of Maxim Sinclair. Was she crazy? She couldn’t help but scoff: "That’s a far-off thing. There’s a night snack in the fridge for you; just heat it up and eat. I’m going to sleep now!"
Vivian raised her voice as she watched Summer leave, "You weren’t waiting here for me on purpose, were you?"
Summer didn’t reply and went straight back to her room.
She didn’t want Vivian to worry about her.
She had just fallen asleep earlier when images of Maxim Sinclair and Tina Huxley from the day kept intruding into her mind uncontrollably.
Summer grew increasingly annoyed without knowing why. She told herself she shouldn’t have anything to do with Maxim Sinclair, but...
Finally, she got up, went to the living room, and poured herself a glass of wine.
Summer lay back in bed, recalling Maxim and Tina’s demeanor when they talked earlier.
It was only today that she realized Maxim and Tina truly were a perfect match from prestigious backgrounds.
Perhaps, in the near future, she would hear about Maxim and Tina’s engagement.
And what should she do then...
Summer sighed lightly, turned over, pulled up the quilt, and fell into a deep sleep.
The next day.
"President Norris, I have a new idea about the Tiangong project for the second half of the year." Summer, holding a stack of papers, pushed open Noah’s office door, and stopped in her tracks.
For some reason, Justin Huxley was sitting in Noah’s office.
Seeing her come in, Justin stood up with a smile: "Summer, why the big reaction on seeing me?"
Noah, on the other side, also stood with a chuckle: "Director Lowell might be a little surprised. You two know each other, no need for formal introductions."
Summer put away the papers, smiled, and nodded at him: "Hello, senior."
Justin squinted with satisfaction, then explained why he was there: "Our company has an event at the end of the year to give a specially designed item to our partners. Since these partners are quite important, after discussing with my boss, we decided to find a reliable jewelry design company to create the souvenirs."
"Thank you, senior, for your support." Summer extended her hand in courtesy, "You can discuss this matter with our management."
"Ah, no need to discuss with me," Noah shook his head with a smile, "Aren’t you two former schoolmates? You’re more familiar. You discuss it with your senior personally. Oh, and there’s one more thing: In a week, the Sinclair Group founder, Elder Sinclair, is celebrating his 80th birthday, and they’ve sent our company an invitation as well."
"Yes, but I’m currently short of a female partner. I wonder if Summer could help me with this?"
