Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 202: Justin Huxley Intentionally Arranges a Date
"If you’re not busy, I’d come find you personally." Summer Lowell patted him boldly on the back, "I won’t forget you, don’t worry."
Justin Huxley chuckled and shook his head, releasing the hug. "Get off the bed and put on your shoes. I’ll handle the discharge paperwork, and we’ll leave the hospital now. First, I’ll take you out for some delicious food."
When the news that Justin Huxley had returned to Stellarion and picked up Summer Lowell from Mercy Hospital reached Maxim Sinclair, he was in a meeting with the company executives.
Maxim Sinclair turned his phone over with a grim expression, the noise startling an employee who was making a presentation. The employee hesitated for a moment and cautiously sought advice from Assistant Collins with his eyes.
Assistant Collins, who had also received the news, discreetly shook his head, signaling the employee to continue.
After the meeting ended, Assistant Collins quickly reassured the startled employee and swiftly followed Maxim Sinclair, carrying documents.
"Leave the documents and exit the room. Don’t let anyone disturb me for the next hour, no matter how important," Maxim instructed.
Maxim Sinclair took off his jacket and tossed it aside, heading straight for the gym without looking back.
Assistant Collins didn’t dare to linger, quickly setting down the documents and leaving the room.
As soon as Assistant Collins sat down at his workstation, he received another message from Dr. Jacobs, "How is President Sinclair now?"
"Not good, no one dares to go near him."
"Tsk tsk, that intimidating?" 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Assistant Collins smirked, "Put yourself in his shoes. How would you feel if the woman you cherished most was persuaded away by someone else?"
"That feeling is indeed unpleasant," Dr. Jacobs in the office grimaced at his phone. A nurse came in and placed a USB drive on the table, "The files you requested are on this USB drive."
Dr. Jacobs inserted the USB into the computer and sent emails while replying to Assistant Collins, "I’ve sent all Miss Lowell’s examination reports to President Sinclair’s email. Remember to remind him later."
"Got it." Assistant Collins closed his phone, once again lamenting how challenging this job was, then immediately returned to work.
...
"Come on down," Justin Huxley opened the passenger door, smiling warmly as he extended his hand to Summer Lowell, "I’ve always wanted to bring you here to see the stars and the night view. Unfortunately, I was sent to Cantova on business by your father recently, otherwise, I would’ve brought you here earlier."
Although she was ready to sleep, Summer Lowell was summoned by Justin Huxley and got out of the car, bewildered. As soon as she stepped out, Justin covered her eyes.
"Why are you covering my eyes?"
"Because I want to give you a surprise," Justin replied, covering her eyes with one hand while gently wrapping his other arm around her waist, guiding her forward, "I guarantee you haven’t seen a view like this before."
After Justin led Summer a few steps in the dark, they stopped.
"I’ll count to three, and then you can open your eyes."
Justin cheerfully whispered the countdown next to her ear, and once the warmth covering her eyes was lifted, she slowly opened her eyes.
A dazzling sea of lights that seemed to stretch endlessly appeared before her.
Justin hugged her from behind, gently nuzzling her ear, "This is the highest point of Shevron Hill. From this angle, you can perfectly enjoy the night view. How’s that? Are you happy with this surprise?"
Summer nodded unconsciously at the breathtaking view before her, "It’s really beautiful. How did you find this place?"
"I’ve known about this place for a while. A friend once brought his girlfriend here for camping. I always considered bringing you here too, but never found the chance."
Justin unexpectedly let go of her, unzipped his jacket, and pulled Summer into his arms again, "It’s quite high here, and windy. Holding you will keep you warmer."
Summer raised her arms, attempting to break free from the embrace, but Justin just tightened his hold, "Are you feeling cold too? It’s on me that I didn’t remind you to bring a jacket earlier."
"Justin, isn’t this inappropriate?"
"There’s nothing inappropriate about it."
With those words, Justin held her even tighter.
Unable to break free, Summer relented. After all, it was just a hug. Letting him hug her for a while wouldn’t harm her.
Three hundred meters away, inside a car, someone was streaming the live footage to Varden Villa, directly to a tablet before Maxim Sinclair.
The butler, who had just brought in coffee, placed it down and was about to speak when he was startled into silence by Maxim’s presence near the desk.
The butler quickly left the study room, clutching his chest to calm himself down by the railing.
A passing maid saw his state and chuckled in curiosity, "Butler, is your heart acting up, or did something scare you?"
The butler waved her off, "Go downstairs and mind your duties. Don’t come up and cause a scene."
After dismissing the maid, the butler cast another cautious glance at the study door.
Even when Maxim Sinclair first took over the Sinclair Family and was challenged from all sides, he never revealed such furious expression.
What on earth happened today?
What kind of scene was displayed on that tablet before him?
Shaking his head, the butler descended the stairs, unable to fathom it. It’s truly rare for something to anger Maxim Sinclair this much.
...
When Justin Huxley brought Summer Lowell back, they happened to run into Vivian Sullivan returning from overtime work.
After exchanging greetings with Justin, Vivian pulled Summer into the elevator, teasing her with gossip, "Where did you go for a date? I can see that your senior’s face is positively glowing!"
"We went to the hilltop to watch the night view and stars," Summer handed her a paper bag, "I figured you wouldn’t have time for dinner after working late. This is the noodle soup from the restaurant you mentioned. Enjoy it while it’s hot after we get upstairs. Any longer, and the noodles will go soggy."
Back home, Vivian held her noodle soup in one hand and grabbed Summer with the other, "Come sit with me for a bit, and catch me up on your love life."
"Have you always been this nosy?" Summer poured herself a glass of water, took a seat across from Vivian, and sipped on it idly, "What’s there to discuss about a date?"
Vivian didn’t dare mention the real reason, worried it might lead to overthinking, so she diverted the topic, coming up with a flimsy excuse, "Work has been exhausting. Listening to some sweet stories might help relieve my fatigue."
"You’re spouting nonsense, and you call yourself a doctor," Summer chided her with a laugh, getting up to leave, "I’m really sleepy now. I’m going to shower and sleep first. If you want the details, wait until I’m in the mood to fill you in."
"Never mind then, I’m not interested in your mushy tales anyway," Vivian waved her away dismissively.
