Contract Marriage: Abusive Love with Mr.CEO-Chapter 507 - 266: Unable to Endure Anymore (Part 2)
Rebecca Quentin laughed after hearing, "Since that’s the case, then I’ll indulge myself. After all, the company is paying!"
"Hmm, let’s go."
The environment of a five-star hotel is truly different.
The top-notch facilities, comfortable lighting, and the ambiance they create make one feel completely at ease.
Having left T City, the temporarily chaotic place, Rebecca felt even more relaxed.
With a bottle of drink in hand, Rebecca walked onto the room’s balcony...
It was summer, and the evening breeze gently blew through the white curtains of the balcony. Rebecca looked at New York’s city night view, letting the breeze bring a pleasant coolness to her body, filled only with the comfort of the moment.
A sudden phone ringtone rang.
Rebecca sipped her drink and took out her phone.
The number displayed on the phone read "Doctor Robinson."
Rebecca smiled and answered the call, "Hello."
"Where are you?"
"Ah, I forgot to mention, I went on a business trip to New York today and might stay for a few days."
"That’s nice, a company-paid ’tour.’ Let me guess what you’re doing now..."
"Sure!"
Chester Robinson pretended to think seriously, "I bet you’re leisurely standing on the balcony, enjoying the beautiful scenery of New York."
Rebecca put down her drink, surprised, "You’re amazing, I’m really on the balcony right now."
Chester chuckled, "I’m not that amazing. Look to your right."
Rebecca held the phone and turned her head to the right, instantly exclaiming, "Doctor Robinson!!"
In her vision, Chester was leaning on the balcony of the adjacent room, holding a glass of red wine and smiling lightly at her.
Rebecca walked to the side closest to him, joyfully asking, "Why are you here?"
Chester also moved to the position closest to Rebecca and said gracefully, "If I told you I’m here because you are, would you believe it?"
Rebecca pouted and said, "I don’t believe it. The manager said when she booked the hotel, there were only two rooms left, indicating you must have arrived in New York before me to occupy the neighboring room. Besides, my trip was quite rushed this time, so I didn’t inform you, which means what you’re saying isn’t valid."
Chester laughed, "You’re not so dumb."
Rebecca looked proud.
"It’s quite a coincidence, I just arrived this morning to discuss the relocation matter."
"Relocation?" Rebecca slightly frowned, "Doctor Robinson, are you transferring back to New York?"
"Perhaps."
A faint sadness formed in Rebecca’s brow.
"Why, hearing this news suddenly made you lose your smile, are you worried that once I move back to New York, I won’t take care of your health anymore?"
Rebecca immediately shook her head, "No, I’ve always been well aware of my health condition. It’s probably going to be like this for the rest of my life, and besides, you’ve helped me so much already... I’m regretful to lose such a good neighbor, if I run into any lateness issues in the future, there’ll be no one to help me anymore."
Chester’s bright eyes gazed deeply at Rebecca for several seconds without answering, until he looked to the distant city night view and took a sip of his wine by himself.
Rebecca also looked into the distance, feeling a bit forlorn inside, considering that her only familiar friends in T City were Chester, Manager Smith, and Nicolette Holmes.
Chester suddenly broke the silence, "Will you be very busy these two days?"
"The manager said I’ll have a day off tomorrow to adjust my jet lag and fulfill my regret of not having time to shop last time, then I’ll start working the day after tomorrow."
"I am just discussing the relocation these two days, conveniently free, remember last time when you visited New York I said I’d be your guide, how about it, can I serve you tomorrow?"
Rebecca looked at Chester apologetically, "Tomorrow might be impossible, I have something tomorrow."
Chester raised a brow, expressing regret but generously saying, "No problem, whenever you come to New York, feel free to find me."
Rebecca could only awkwardly say, "Okay."
She suddenly realized that Chester always fulfilled every request she made, and when Chester invited her, she always declined, yet at this moment, it wasn’t a mere excuse to decline, deep down she still felt a bit guilty towards Chester.
Next day.
Mrs. Geoffrey asked the servant in the living room, "Has Mr. Geoffrey left?"
The servant answered, "Mr. Geoffrey just left."
Mrs. Geoffrey nodded satisfyingly, "Becca will come later, tidy up Mr. Geoffrey’s room, I want her to stay over tonight."
"Okay."
"Oh yes, it’s best if there are no traces showing Mr. Geoffrey came back last night."
"Understood."
Just as Mrs. Geoffrey finished instructing the servant, another servant excitedly ran to her, joyfully saying, "Elder madam, Miss Quentin has arrived."
A smile instantly spread across Mrs. Geoffrey’s face, "Luckily Howard has left, hurry and help her with the things."
"Yes."
Mrs. Geoffrey walked to the villa’s entrance hall, just in time to see the servant taking over the things Rebecca was holding.
Rebecca looked up and saw Mrs. Geoffrey greeting her, smiling faintly.
Mrs. Geoffrey walked towards Rebecca and held Rebecca’s hand as they walked into the villa.
"You’re also very familiar here, just treat it as your own home, don’t feel shy."
"Yes."
"Andrew woke up very early and made Howard play with him. Now he’s tired from playing and is asleep."
Howard...
The smile on Rebecca’s face suddenly became slightly unnatural.
Mrs. Geoffrey realized Rebecca’s hand was subtly trembling and immediately knew she had said something wrong, quickly correcting herself, "Oops, look at my mouth, I meant Andrew always wanted Howard... you know, Howard hasn’t been coming back lately, so the little one misses his daddy too."
Rebecca also recognized that she shouldn’t react this way and adjusted her mindset, maintaining a faint smile.
"Since Andrew is still asleep, let’s chat for a bit!"
"Okay."
Rebecca accompanied Mrs. Geoffrey and sat down on the sofa in the living room.
The servant placed the items Rebecca had brought next to her.
Rebecca picked up something that looked like a box of supplements and said with a smile, "Aunt, last time I heard in Y City that you mentioned your back pain at midnight, my boss told me this brand of herbal supplements is quite effective for treating back pain, so I brought you a few boxes to try."
Mrs. Geoffrey happily took them, "You really went out of your way to bring these from T City, how thoughtful of you."
"It’s nothing, they’re not heavy."
"You’re so considerate, I have two sons, but even if they knew about my back pain, they wouldn’t care to ask."
