Crushing flags and claiming the Villainess-Chapter 161 - 160- Caught
Jasmine was exasperated.
She clearly told the bastard named Zevarath to only ambush when the Valorian academy would be performing on their match day.
However, that dumb skull couldn’t wait and ended up committing this small drama.
’But still...it’s staged quite well...’ The black-haired girl couldn’t stop herself from smiling as she saw the dead guy lying inside a block of ice.
She was aware of the altercation he had with Austin last night in the common hall.
And following that, he was found dead in the room of that girl who worships Austin.
Jasmine saw Austin looking at Valerie with a frown, while Valerie shook her head with her eyes full of tears.
Seeing a strong person shedding tears is such a joy to her heart.
The whispers of the students were quite helpful as well.
"Isn’t that the same guy from last night?"
"I heard the S-rank was quite crazy, but this...isn’t that a crime?"
"Of course, it is! Killing a student regardless of their background is forbidden and should be punished!"
"It’s all because of that loser...now Valorian lost their best student."
"Can you all stop?!" Suddenly, the booming voice of a certain male silenced everyone.
Austin’s aura clearly said that he was frustrated, as he looked at the others.
Jasmine frowned...wasn’t he suspecting Valerie? Or was it an act? Or is this an act?
"It hasn’t been proven who killed him and yet you all are talking rubbish at her face. Quite the mature people you all are." He didn’t hesitate in insulting the people from seven different nations, of which several of them were royalty.
Valerie’s change of expression irritated Jasmine. She clicked her tongue and swirled her finger before providing a command to one of her pets.
A black-haired boy stepped forward before accusing, "He was found dead in her room just a few hours later he humiliated you! And we all know how close you two are...it would take a fool to not connect the dots."
Another twirl of a finger, and another pet barked, "She clearly seemed on the verge of murdering him yesterday. And if not for the maid who came for room cleaning, no one would have known where the boy disappeared to."
"She clearly slaughtered him and tried to hide it!"
"Just being strong doesn’t mean you are above the law!"
The audience was growing noisy and Jasmine had a satisfied smile on her face.
’Come on, Luke. I know you love that girl...now, show us how will you defend your oh-so-perfect girl.’
Austin took a step toward Valerie and stood before her; shielding her.
His stance made it clear that he wouldn’t let anything reach his woman.
Crossing his arms, he said, "Assume whatever the fuck you want, but another word you speak against her, I swear you would be the next dead body lying here."
That statement held no warning but pure certainty.
The aura he wore around his body was not something a mere D-rank should possess.

A killing intent that far surpassed a student who should have only gained experience in a controlled environment.
In their eyes, Austin appeared as an untamed beast who would swallow any curse thrown at his woman and the one who spits it.
"What is happening here?" Soon, the soldiers of the Council arrived, and so did the Headmaster of the Valorian.
Their reaction was almost similar. Some gasped and some just were astonished.
Jasmine thought that they would take some time to investigate the matter, but,
"Soldiers, arrest her!" One of them was the management chief, who ordered the soldiers while directing his gaze toward Valerie.
"Hey, wait! How can you jump to the conclusion so soon?!" Austin stopped them from advancing and seemed to be on the verge of summoning his Shard.
Even the Headmaster protested, "At least, first assess the situation, Eden."
The management chief, Eden, had a firm stance when he said, "All the visual reports indicate that she has done it. But right now, I am not arresting her to put her in a cell or anything. She would be taken to the Headquarters for interrogation, and if she is proven innocent there, no one will question her any further."
Philius frowned, as he turned to look at the dead body on the ground.
There was no argument that Valerie was a prime suspect in this crime.
No one was unaware of the possessiveness she carried for Austin, and in a fit of rage, Philius saw how far she could go.
Exhaling a sigh, he advanced toward Austin before resting his hand on his shoulder and telling the younger one, "Look, Austin, I know Valerie couldn’t take such a massive step...but right now, everything is speaking against her. So let her go and prove her innocence."
Austin gritted his teeth, "Just because he was found in her room....they all are assuming she did it."
"Isn’t that oddly familiar?" Someone voiced, making every eye turn towards him.
It was the same boy who had gotten quite close to Rhea recently: Esner.
"I heard the Prince of our nation was accused of the same crime? That he kidnapped you and you were found in his room. No one listened to him and blamed the Prince...or so what I heard? So why the change of mind here? Was it written on Prince Parkinson’s face that he was a criminal? Or was it prejudice on your part, Headmaster Philius?"
Hearing the boy’s query the students went abuzz.
Those who didn’t know the situation that caused Parkinson’s disappearance were now whispering about whether Valorian discriminates against students from foreign lands.
Philius knew that things were not going their way, and if it continued, things wouldn’t settle just with Valerie.
The older one’s grip turned firm around Austin’s shoulder, which left the blond one with no option.
He turned towards Valerie and cupped her cheek, "Val...I am ashamed to say but I cannot stop you from getting taken away."
Valerie’s tears were still visible but she wasn’t crying...rather, there was a smile on her face when she said, "I am not afraid...until you believe in me, I fear nothing."
Austin heaved a sigh before he kissed the crown of her head and whispered something.
Soon the soldiers stepped forward and ushered to get moving.
Under the crime of murdering a student, Valerie Corwon was arrested.
