Cultivating in the Wizard World-Chapter 219 - 199: Upheaval and Communication
"Hiss..."
Jemingβs brain experienced waves of stabbing pain. ππβ―π¦ππ¦π£πππππ.πβ΄π
He felt his Spiritual Power being squeezed to the limit, like a sponge wrung dry, again and again.
Whenever his Spiritual Power was on the verge of exhaustion, he would unhesitatingly swallow a Magic Potion to restore it, and then plunge back into the immense restoration project.
Finally, after multiple rounds of depleting his Spiritual Power, this "restoration" project was nearing its end.
As he released the final round of Alchemy, the ice-cold land beneath him quietly returned to its original state.
The earth looked as if it had never been torn apart, with no trace of the bombardment he had inflicted.
But Jeming knew that was just a facade.
Beneath lay a Sea of Evil Qi that could bring down a High Tier Wizard.
Standing on the repaired ground, he exhaled a long breath of turbid air.
Then, still feeling uneasy, he took out some high-quality Energy Crystal Stones from his internal space and ground them into powder.
Using them as a base, he exhausted all his True Essence to form a spell specifically for stabilizing Evil Qi.
"Go!" He cast the spell, which drained all his True Essence, at the "trace point" he had covered.
The spell merged into the earth like an invisible nail, pinning that area firmly.
Jeming knew that this lone spell couldnβt possibly restrain the overall movement of the endless "Sea of Evil Qi."
But when combined with the thick soil layer seal heβd created earlier and the seal heβd initially placed at the opening.
At least it could temporarily calm the Yin Sha Qi in this small area, preventing it from seeping out here.
If the Yin Sha Qi were to erupt elsewhere, it didnβt matter.
After all, for Jeming, as long as it didnβt erupt in his area and expose his unauthorized exploration, there was no problem.
The actions of the Wizard Legion were none of his concern, even if they seemed unusual.
Having taken care of everything, Jeming composed his thoughts.
He then calmly returned to the safer outpost.
There, he briefly logged the mission in the journal, and then used the Teleportation Array inside the outpost to return to the Wizard Main Camp.
Stepping out of the Teleportation Array, a familiar chaotic energy flow greeted him, contrasting sharply with the frost of the Frost Dark Realm.
Jeming went to his dormitory and only upon taking out his Magic Network Terminal did he find a communication request that couldnβt be connected due to insufficient signal.
Upon checking it, he realized it was a communication request from his mentorβProfessor Clark.
"Uh..." Jeming scratched his head.
He had turned off the terminal for secrecy in the Frost Dark Realm, not expecting someone to try to reach him.
Thinking that his mentor had matters to discuss and might reach out to Senior Sister Viola.
Inter-planar communication in other planes required using the campβs own communication system, which was often... very expensive!
Instead of contacting back at a high cost, he might as well visit Violaβs laboratory to take a look.
After all, having cleared an entire Yeti City, he had gathered some information to exchange.
With this decision made, Jeming turned and headed towards Violaβs laboratory at the top level of the campβs core area.
Reaching the laboratory door, Jeming knocked gently.
The door quickly slid open silently, revealing the tidy and spacious interior.
Viola was sitting in her armchair, holding a cup of dark blue liquid, as poised as ever.
She looked up at Jeming, her icy blue eyes deep and calm, as if she could see through everything.
Yet, the moment Jeming met her gaze, he instinctively felt uncomfortable.
Even though he had experienced many grand events, he always sensed something else within this seniorβs eyesβnot genuine concern, nor mere appreciation.
It felt a bit like a biologist observing a rare, uniquely capable "precious specimen" undergoing a critical growth phase.
This feeling of scrutiny made every cell in his body subtly resist.
"Back so soon to see me, it seems you had quite a βharvestβ in the Frost Dark Realm," Viola said softly, with a barely perceptible hint of amusement.
"Senior, youβre teasing me," Jeming sighed inwardly, forcing a tired smile, "I simply saw that my mentor tried to contact me, but the signal was too weak in the Frost Dark Realm to connect. Since the mentor was looking for me, I thought he might also get in touch with you."
"Professor Clark did reach out to me," Viola nodded, setting down her cup and motioning Jeming to sit, "He inquired about your recent situation and also mentioned some significant changes in the planes."
They then began discussing Professor Clarkβs message.
"This situation does raise some concerns," Jeming furrowed his brows slightly, speaking with a hint of gravity.
"Both operations are in motion simultaneously, and such a large-scale withdrawal of High Tier combat forces implies some covert agenda. But removing high-end combat power and a strategic fallback now, even if we overpower the opponent, seems quite risky."
"Lord Augustine must also be aware of happenings in the Ice and Flame Plane, but choosing such a course of action now is... somewhat imprudent."
Jeming paused slightly while speaking, ultimately opting for a more tactful choice of words; he originally intended to say something along the lines of that guyβs probably... beeeepβ.
