Chapter 51 -51 Behave, I’ll hold you
When Zhu Qianying woke up in a daze, she thought she was sick.
In the twenty years of her life, this was the very sensation she’d experienced the few times she’d fallen gravely ill.

Her mind was a muddled mess with no energy to lift a finger or even open her eyelids.
With her eyes still shut, she shook her head, hoping to clear her mind.
However, instead of lucidity, a warm object pressed down on her, caressing her head gently – a gesture similar to that of an ideal father she imagined in her childhood dreams, drenched in an impenetrable love.
But then, the greeting that followed jolted her from her stupor and delusions.
“Awake?”
A youthful, vibrant, male bass voice; evidently, it could never be her father’s voice – not even the one in her ideals could mimic this intonation.
Because, the owner of this voice, was Yan Shao!
The damned Yan Shao who refuses to leave her alone!
Her memory was entirely roused by his low inquiry.
All her life, Zhu Qianying prided herself on her reasoned resolve and robust constitution.
However, last night turned out to be the ruin of both her rationale and physique by this horrendous Yan Shao!
Not only did her faculties collapse, it even appeared as if her brain short-circuited at some point – was she passed out?
As for her robust constitution, if she could hardly wriggle out of his hold even five minutes after her mind had regained consciousness, it was evident she was crushed to a wreckage!
Yan Shao, who was looking grand with one arm propped on the bed, watched her wiggle in his arms like a mole; he thought she was just rubbing against him, amused the handsome man to no end as he tousled her hair a bit more.
“Do you want to sleep more?”
The skin beneath her hairline, incredibly delicate, had given him an oddly addictive sensation whenever he touched it last night.
“No…”
Hearing her voice sounding hoarse and unpleasant, Zhu Qianying was quite taken aback.
She gritted her teeth and mustered the strength to push herself away from his embrace.
Yan Shao, who seemed to be in a mood to sing, watched her struggle, and finally found his benevolent side. He lent a hand under her arm and hoisted her up along with the thin quilt, and helped her sit up.
He sat up too and seeing her sway a bit, well, without thinking too much, he moved closer, sitting behind her with his chest against her back.
Zhu Qianying was trying hard to accustom herself to her state when her back encountered his chest, sending a shiver through her.
“Get lost!” She snapped without thinking.
She instinctively tightened her hold on the quilt, simultaneously turning her body slightly away.
She turned her head, glowering at Yan Shao.
Yan Shao, who was rebuked, however, didn’t seem unhappy at all; in fact, he found it amusing, “Ah, you’ve grown a temper!”
He found her defensive gestures quite childish, amusing him more than anything.
Zhu Qianying didn’t pay him any attention – still hugging her quilt, she began to move – albeit slowly – towards the edge of the bed.
“What are you trying to do, let me carry you!”
Yan Shao knew his capabilities, and he found it unbearable to watch her crawl like a snail. So, he extended his hand to help her.
“No need, get lost!”
Zhu Qianying didn’t appreciate his help, his fake sympathy only made her feel nauseous.
However, her harsh words did nothing to discourage Yan Shao.
Swiftly, he got off the bed and stood right in front of it.
The sunlight illuminating him only emphasized his unblemished perfection. On other days, Zhu Qianying would have undoubtedly stolen a few more glances.
Yet, at the moment, she was out of sorts. She cast a casual glance at him, feeling increasingly irritated.
Why the hell did the same motion make him look refreshed and her feel like she was on her deathbed?
“Sweetie, let me carry you.”
The handsome man leaned over, his sturdy arms extended towards her.
Zhu Qianying glared at him, “My clothes…”
Yan Shao was unphased by her cold reception. After all, with her stubborn nature, she would never easily display weakness.
“Aren’t you uncomfortable?” Yan Shao softens his tone, trying to coax her.
Although he never had any experience with such situations, her persistent furrowed brows suggested that she was indeed uncomfortable.
“My clothes…” Zhu Qianying did not wish to say anything more to him; she even deliberately turned her face away from him.
Countering her resistance, Yan Shao headed to the wardrobe and fetched a robe for her.
Of course, he could have forced her, but having witnessed her condition from the night before, even his hardened heart could not muster the severity.
Zhu Qianying took a look at the obviously oversized men’s robe and silently stretched a hand out from beneath the quilt to take it.
Lifting her gaze, she saw him standing rigidly by her bed, watching her intently.
“Can I trouble you, Yan Shao to turn around?” she managed to ask with an effort to keep her temper checked.
Yan Shao smirked, wishing to say – I saw it all last night, what’s there to hide now?
But he finally decided against saying it, knowing that if he did, Zhu Qianying would probably retaliate in unimaginable ways.
Yan Shao, who rarely listened to anyone but his mother, obediently turned around.
Zhu Qianying finally managed to don the robe, which was several sizes too big. A task that would have been effortless on any other day, exhaustingly drains her today.
