Damned Healer-Chapter 522: Arrogance And Contempt
In the skies, that small area sealed by a blessing still existed. Inside it, that robust man was covered in blood with cuts all over his body. His clothes were in rags, his face twisted.
He was being completely ridiculed by two young men, with eight and seven rings... he couldn't even hit them, but was constantly getting cut like an idiot. Even though the wounds were irrelevant and superficial, he felt an unprecedented humiliation.
*Buzz!*
Suddenly, the ocean in the Pacific split open.
A figure with a completely twisted body, all four limbs broken, and frightening black lines covering his skin, emerged.
With a snort, a golden aura flowed through him. It was his immortal power that healed him completely, removing even the black lines.
Darian sighed internally. Unfortunately, his black power wasn't effective against those immortals, because he was still too weak. That happened because they were prepared for his attack and moved their power to block the invasion immediately.
Before, when he killed that Spiritual Sovereign, he took advantage of the element of surprise, attacking suddenly and abusing the runic seal that could pierce its defenses. Caught off guard and undefended, the black power invaded quickly, and he was killed before he could react.
But in situations like the current one, with the enemy focused on him and not underestimating him completely; Darian didn't have the strength to kill him, even if he managed to pierce him with his daggers and black power.
If he could prolong the fight and make them lose a good part of their power, the situation would last. There were also other varied possibilities, but all of them were very specific.
"You... you..." That tall man could only babble disconnected nonsense, consumed by extreme hatred. Everyone was watching this fight, and he had just been brutally beaten three times without even touching Darian.
Just like with the twins, Darian apparently had no chance of killing them in a normal battle. But losing in fifteen minutes? Now, Vanh realized in shock how presumptuous he had been.
"What is it? Time's running out, come together for real, both of you." Darian said dryly.
The tall man went back up seriously, this time without attacking immediately.
Vanh stared at Darian, "Sorry..."
Darian cut him off with an irritated tone: "Are you seriously apologizing? You're the one who said you'd fight me without using your powers. In the end, your subordinate attacked me with everything in the middle of the battle, like a coward... and you still want to act like the righteous one here?"
Vanh sighed. "Indeed. But... my mother's life is at stake. Even if I'm wrong here, I'll still bring you down. This time, I'll go all out. I'm warning you beforehand: you'd better give up."
Darian snorted, "Just you? Well... you've got three minutes. Come, I won't move a single muscle." He said as he sheathed his daggers and placed his hands behind his back.
Darian's words echoed calmly and were perfectly captured by all the powerful people on Earth. If the same sentence had been said by anyone else in that situation, loud laughter would have erupted everywhere, but...
...no one dared make a sound.
Their enemies clenched their fists and had cold gazes; that level of arrogance and contempt was shocking. Meanwhile, the allies... felt their hearts pounding like drums, with slight smiles on their faces.
Camille could only sigh. Darian was the type who preferred to stay in a corner, away from everyone's sight, whenever he could. But... when he was provoked or decided to act, gods and immortals would sweat cold in anticipation.
He definitely knew when to be arrogant — but even that was questionable, because he really did have what it took to say those things most of the time... and his enemies usually found that out the hard way.
Vanh didn't reply; he just exchanged a look with the tall man. Then, the two pulsed with a golden energy.
They were used to fighting together, and they were immortals with absolute killing potential.
Vanh's saber moved forward like a lightning bolt.
At the same time, the tall man vanished, activating his blessing again.
Earth went silent in anticipation.
Common humans looked upward, trembling, unable to understand or clearly see anything. But they managed to notice the world's color suddenly changing. It was like a rainbow-colored sun ignited; then, two golden suns five times larger crashed brutally against it.
In the first two seconds, there was still no sound.
Until the planet's atmosphere seemed to flip upside down.
**KBOOOOOM!**
The first explosion was enough to make the entire planet tremble, but, fortunately, there were no leaked energies capable of destroying or killing ordinary people.
That was because the most powerful figures on Earth were exactly the ones up high, above the continents, spread strategically across the whole territory. Any powerful wave was canceled out by them.
**BOOOM! BOOOOM!! BOOOOM!!!**
Louder and louder blasts echoed nonstop above.
Those with nine rings saw everything perfectly, their eyes full of shock. Darian... was completely standing still in the center, being brutally bombarded nonstop by two immortals.
He was cut by the saber, by the assassin's blade, struck by the explosive immortal power of both of them... until Vanh and the tall man drew Supreme Artifacts to better focus their powers. Their attacks didn't stop, getting more and more brutal.
Darian, meanwhile, took everything, getting hit nonstop; his clothes were completely destroyed... but not a single drop of blood appeared.
The thick, multicolored aura around him seemed to shine just as strong and unshakable as always. The powerful ones on Earth, after so many exchanges, finally noticed that anomaly. Every attack power from the enemies, upon touching that colorful aura, had its energy drastically reduced.
They were immortals using their raw power and blessing against him! But... half of Darian's physique came from someone above the immortal level. He was still weak, but the capability of that technique was terrifying.
Besides that, even after they struck his body, it was like they were attacking a solid steel wall. Even if there wasn't that huge reduction in attack power, Vanh felt he wouldn't be able to seriously damage Darian with just a few hits.
The other half of Darian's physique... also came from someone above the immortal level. The two physiques were fused and worked together as one, making everything even worse.
How terrifying could the physique of a mortal be? The standard of those immortals and of all Earth changed forever from this moment on. The current physiques of immortals, considered extremely high-level... were actually just a bit better than trash, compared to what was in front of them.
"One minute."
Suddenly, Darian's voice echoed through the explosions and attacks.
Vanh roared, unleashing every gram of immortal power he could control, without hesitation. He didn't dare hold anything back, even if he suffered a backlash and died from it; his mother's life depended on that.
The tall man also attacked with everything, trying to erase the humiliation he had suffered.
Darian, though, still had his hands behind his back, standing there with an indifferent expression.
His body had already been hit countless times. His physique protected him, stopping him from exploding or suffering fatal wounds. Then, he used his white power to completely heal himself, sparing nothing.
Obviously, Darian knew Mallory's Trial wouldn't end peacefully. And during the free month, he made visits to the other universe and attacked the nearby galaxy to gather his white and black power in preparation.
He didn't hold anything back, throwing all his white power, not letting his body even bleed. Of course, doing that was completely unviable in normal battles, and he'd probably only manage to keep it up for five more minutes.
"DIE!"
The tall man roared with all the force in his lungs, attacking explosively.
Vanh followed him, attacking in the most precise and brutal way he could, supported by his blessing and extra spiritual root.
Unfortunately for them, another negative factor was that, because they were from the Wube family, they were used to solving everything much more easily using their Spiritual Technique. Even in the other universe, that technique worked. But against Darian, and against people with Shadow Heroes, they already knew it wouldn't work, so they didn't even waste time trying.
Because of that, they were used to using their blessings and everything else as support to make the Spiritual Technique effective. Now, without their main weapon, they lost a lot of performance.
**RUMBLE!!**
A muffled explosion echoed, but this time there was no sequence, and the world fell silent.
When the space in the skies stabilized, the people of Earth saw Darian at the center of everything, slowly taking his hands from behind his back.
Far away from there, the blessing of the robust man was deactivated, freeing the twins.
That other immortal was in a pathetic state, but he activated his power to heal himself quickly.
"Game over." Darian's calm and indifferent voice sounded. "You lost."
His words sounded like thunder, piercing Vanh's soul. Meanwhile, the people of Earth seemed numb after watching that entire fight with their own eyes.
After speaking, Darian didn't even look at the three. He only glanced at Lucy and Lucius, then the three vanished, returning to the continent.
But...
At that exact moment, the robust man and the tall man exchanged bloodthirsty looks, while Vanh was completely paralyzed, unable to react.
