Damned Healer-Chapter 533: Minimally Serious
Seeing that everyone was confused, Darian continued, "Thulon is one of you, a native, and all of you are mortal enemies of us outsiders. But his courage in fighting and not abandoning his partner while being chased earned my respect. So I helped him, and he became my brother. When my little brother has trouble, as the older brother, I obviously can’t just stand and watch. So, I’ll take Thulon’s place in this fight. I’m sure you don’t have a problem with that, right, brother?"
"Big brother Darian..." Thulon didn’t expect Darian to show him that much appreciation. His eyes filled with tears. In the whole Tribe, very few people treated him that well.
Darian patted Thulon’s shoulder. "I helped you because you reminded me of myself when I was younger. But my situation was ten times worse than yours. I can help you once, but next time, you’ll have to help yourself."
When Darian looked at Thulon, he felt like he was looking at his younger self. Even though their ages were a ’little’ different because of their races, the intensity of their inner turmoil was the same. One was oppressed by his family, the other by his surroundings. It was like the feeling of a dog cornered in an alley. That kind of feeling, of having no way out, could only be understood through experience.
"Hahaha, fine. I’ve disliked you for a long time anyway. Since you want to take Thulon’s place, come here!" Gaddol laughed. A sinister glint flashed in his eyes.
Suddenly, Lutecia spoke in distress, "Don’t do this! You’re judging him based on that short fight from before. But Gaddol can unleash all his power here. He’s completely different from when you first met him. Not even a nine-ring Spiritual Guardian dares to attack us inside our territory."
Darian gave her a light smile of gratitude. "What a coincidence, not even a nine-ring Spiritual Guardian dares to say they can beat me. Seems like a fair fight."
Then he turned to the leader of the Tribe. "Would you allow this fight?"
The leader of the Tribe hesitated. For an outsider to participate in this kind of battle was extremely inappropriate. He was about to speak when the white-eyed elder said:
"Young people should solve their own problems."
Hearing that, the leader didn’t hesitate anymore. "Then let’s change locations. This is not the proper place for a fight."
Very quickly, Darian found himself transported to a vast space. It was an extremely simple land, surrounded by runes from an inscription. There, he could fight freely.
The leader of the Tribe and the other elder were in an upper corner, now away from everyone. The leader turned to that elder with a complicated expression. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"Don’t worry. In the past few days, I’ve been feeling uneasy, like something was about to happen. But even after using all my power, I couldn’t find anything. Then suddenly, I felt an urge to come see you to remember old times... but now that this person appeared, I finally understand that the reason I came was fate," said the white-eyed elder.
The leader of the Tribe was surprised. That elder was someone of higher status than him, being called the Herald of the Golem God. There was always only one Herald on the planet, and they could communicate and receive intuitive messages from the Golem God.
"It’s too early to say anything right now." The elder murmured quietly. "But... I feel a connection between him and our race and the Golem God. If he is who he seems to be, it’ll become clear very soon."
Back in the center of everything, Darian and Gaddol stared at each other.
In the distance, Thulon and Thulya clenched their fists tightly. They were nervous for Darian. Here, in his homeland, Gaddol would be able to unleash a full hundred percent of his strength. Lutecia was worried too; she never imagined things would go this far.
"Darian, now I’ll pay you back for that humiliation ten times over. But don’t worry, I won’t kill you. That would be bad for our Tribe’s pride, hahaha!", mocked Gaddol.
All of his pride had been wounded when Darian hit him twice without him being able to defend himself. That was the biggest setback of his entire life.
Even if he couldn’t kill Darian in front of the leader, he already had everything planned out. He would humiliate him completely. He would make him kneel on the ground and beg for mercy. A sinister glint shone in his eyes. He could already imagine Darian kneeling and pleading.
Seeing Gaddol’s sinister smile, Darian knew exactly what he was thinking, "Relax, I hate killing insignificant people like you. But... I don’t have all day. Come on already, I’m getting bored with all this talking and drama I don’t care about."
His words instantly changed the expression of many people.
"Courting death!"
As expected, Gaddol exploded in rage immediately. His aura burst out; it was as if the world had been swallowed by a strange energy in a greenish emerald tone.
Darian’s eyes widened.
’This... I’ve felt this before...’
He finally managed to sense the origins of that power, coming from the Golems’ secret technique. But he didn’t know exactly where he had seen it.
At that moment, Gaddol unleashed all of his power, and runes began appearing around him. His spear shot toward Darian with terrifying momentum.
Now, facing Gaddol, Darian’s battle intent awakened.
His eyes lit up.
His soul was freed.
His body pulsed, and a multicolored light flowed out brilliantly.
*BUZZ*
"!"
A powerful aura rose to the sky, making the earth tremble. It felt like a deity had descended, causing a resonance between heaven and earth.
Everyone, including the leader of the Tribe and the white-eyed elder, was shocked. Their souls were instantly affected, and all energies around them went out of control.
"Come on, let me see if you can make me attack seriously even once." Darian spoke in disdain.
Then he threw a light punch forward. But it was as if the space itself was being torn apart, and raging waves of energy burst straight toward Gaddol.
"Break!", roared Gaddol, completely stunned.
*BOOM!*
A massive explosion erupted when his spear struck the waves of Darian’s punch. Just the shockwave made some of the weaker ones almost faint.
That terrified the Tribe members. The place might look simple, but it had an ancient inscription restricting the shockwaves. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have made them fight there.
Even so, their power still managed to leak through, making the weaker ones pale and step back.
As they looked at the imposing Darian, who seemed like a calm, radiant god, Thulon and Thulya’s eyes lit up with admiration. That had been just a casual punch from him. Not even the Tribe elders had ever seen someone that overwhelming. Just watching him fight made their blood boil.
The only person who didn’t feel the same was Gaddol. His blood wasn’t boiling at all. On the contrary, his heart went cold.
He attacked with everything he had, but Darian didn’t counter with another punch. He... just moved two fingers of his right hand, leaving everyone speechless.
Like that, the two exchanged several ’blows’. One used a weapon and put every bit of energy into his moves. The other... didn’t even seem close to warming up.
Gaddol felt like he wasn’t fighting a person anymore, but a Supreme Demon God. He was completely overpowered and unable to release his full power.
Darian’s gaze was like a sharp blade staring at Gaddol with cold indifference.
"You only have this tiny bit of skill? You’re way weaker than I thought." Darian said, frowning.
Gaddol was pathetic, to say the least. He had a strange and terrifying power in his hands, something that had intrigued Darian. But he only knew how to use it in a crude, straightforward way.
The thing was, any energy that touched Darian’s multicolored aura was suppressed and weakened. Someone experienced would attack by focusing their power into a technique, making only part of the energy get suppressed while the rest hit the target. But that idiot didn’t know how to do something that ’complex’.
"What bullshit! Don’t think you can look down on me!" Gaddol roared, furious. Darian’s words were like a resounding slap to his face. His rage made him forget his fear. He amplified the power of his spear, wanting to throw Darian far away.
But Darian just snorted and grabbed the spear with his bare hands.
"FUCK"
Gaddol roared, losing it after seeing his weapon grabbed like that. Meanwhile, Darian didn’t even budge. No matter how much Gaddol tried, he couldn’t move the spear even a centimeter.
Gaddol’s fury surged explosively. He was completely overpowered. Remembering all the bold words he had said earlier, he roared as his veins bulged and his power surged out even stronger.
*CRACK!*
With the sudden increase in power, the ground under his feet began to crack, and the fissures spread quickly.
"Sir Darian is way too strong!" Thulon covered his mouth, overwhelmed with admiration. The image of that dominant Darian would stay carved in his mind forever.
The ground trembled as the power intensified. The Golems watching instinctively stepped back, feeling imminent danger.
But Darian still didn’t move. He was still using only one hand. It didn’t matter how much the ground collapsed or how much Gaddol struggled, Darian stayed firm, holding the spear.
Inside, Darian was excited. He had finally managed to clearly feel that power inside Gaddol. His memory drifted back...
’This! This is Gaia’s power!’
Darian thought in shock. No wonder it felt familiar. When he returned for the second time to the training universe and found Niara, the two of them went to save the Mannaz who were sacrificing themselves to protect the galaxy on the planets.
Back then, Darian didn’t have the power to quickly clean an entire planet of Risen. But all those planets had a living Gaia. When he arrived, intending to help, he felt each planet’s Gaia connecting with him and giving him their power so he could save them. Because of that, they handled everything easily. (Chapter 133)
Darian was surprised. The Golems’ secret technique was really useful. Can any living planet with a Gaia become a source of power for them? He really wished he could get a chance to read that technique.
At that moment, Gaddol finally hit his limit. He couldn’t accept what he was facing.
"BASTARD!"
All the power around Gaddol flowed back into his body. That energy vanished, but it was like a volcano had erupted inside him.
Darian was surprised. A huge force hit him, making him release the spear, allowing Gaddol to pull back. The power coming from Gaia was strange and interesting.
Gaddol glared at Darian with a twisted expression. Originally, he had planned to fight an epic battle and show his techniques little by little. But from the start, he had been completely suppressed, and nothing worked. He had been forced to use his final technique.
Gaddol’s spear trembled as he charged at Darian. A terrifying pressure made the space around tremble.
"DIE!"
Gaddol roared as his spear pierced through space. With an unyielding killing intent, he lunged toward Darian. At the moment of impact, every spectator felt chills down their spine.
Seeing that overwhelmingly terrifying spear... Darian finally pulled out a dagger.
’Tir, take it easy.’
He released a bit of the ring’s power, and the dagger pulsed. Even the sun seemed to lose its shine before that dagger.
Darian struck casually, without any technique.
**KBOOM!**
The two attacks collided in a terrifying explosion. Strong winds whistled as they hit the barrier. Those ’winds’ were spatial blades, and everyone trembled whenever they clashed against the inscription.
Slowly, the dust settled, revealing Darian standing in the exact same place he had been since the beginning. His multicolored aura still surrounded him, making him look like a god watching the rest of the world.
There was a massive gorge before him, and at the end of it was Gaddol, crawling miserably and vomiting blood nonstop. His spear had been completely destroyed.
Everyone fell silent. They never imagined someone as powerful as Gaddol would be crushed so overwhelmingly. Was that even a fight?
Everything happened so fast it felt like it ended before it even began. Then, they all remembered Darian’s words at the start.
From the very beginning, he had only moved his hands casually. That alone was enough to overpower Gaddol. And at the end, he seemed to have used a... minimally serious attack. Yet everyone still felt like it had just been another casual strike.
