Damned Healer-Chapter 539: Finally Showed Up
The Heavenly Annihilation clouds began spinning like a giant vortex. Suddenly, the center lit up, like the eye of a demon that had just opened.
That eye was hundreds of meters wide. In that instant, the whole world became blindingly bright, so bright that people could barely open their eyes.
Darian landed softly on the ground. A group of four stumbled toward him, stopping a hundred meters away. All the other allies were almost a kilometer from Darian.
"Brother Darian... I feel like I might die..."
Seeing that terrifying ordeal, Thulon turned green with fear. At first, he had been excited to go through this together with Darian... it would definitely bring him immense benefits.
However, after feeling that power, he felt like an ant in the middle of a storm of steel. A simple touch would turn him into dust.
Darian smiled, turning toward those four. There were Tetoya and Thulon, but there were also two new people he had recently selected.
One was a woman from the Charming Eyes Race, called Czaza; she was a relative of Aurix and the most talented of her generation.
The other was Saelus, a Soul Eater demon that Darian didn’t find all that talented. But he had a grayish karma, something rare among those created by Caliris. On top of that, he seemed to have a strong determination to grow stronger.
**RUMBLE!**
A massive lightning bolt suddenly fell. From afar, it looked like a silver flood. In front of it, a human seemed completely tiny.
The scene was worthy of an apocalypse.
Everything below crumbled even before the lightning reached the ground. The entire outer territory of the temple was completely destroyed. The surrounding mountains exploded, and the land sank.
At the same time, anyone below nine rings among the enemies turned into a bloody mist. Sadly, they weren’t even 20% of the almost thousand.
All the others who were stronger were vomiting blood nonstop, their bodies cracking apart. It wasn’t just the enemies; all 200 Spiritual Guardians allied with Darian were in the same critical state.
It lasted less than a second until the first bolt struck, but it felt like an eternity for everyone.
The heavens struck their target: Darian. But... he just stood there, hands behind his back, his primordial physique fully activated.
He allowed the torrent of lightning to fall upon him. The silver torrent was made of countless lightning runes, and they exploded like volcanoes upon hitting his body.
Thanks to his physique, Darian was able to ignore that level of power. After the first impact, countless weaker bolts fell across the entire vast area, creating a prison that pressed in on every side. It had no end; it was like a rain from hell.
Darian received the maximum power, but everyone else had to endure the secondary bolts. And those four closest to him also received a bit of the maximum power spilling onto them. Their bodies were instantly covered in blood, and they struggled not to fall to their knees.
Darian turned to them. Under his gaze, they all clenched their teeth and endured bitterly. This was a great opportunity for them, because it was the fastest way to strengthen their physical bodies.
The Heavenly lightning roared like a furious sea. That place turned into a sea of lightning.
All the enemies, even far from Darian, were like tiny boats trying to survive in that raging ocean. They didn’t dare run or resist—only bitterly endure.
Thulon coughed blood. The lightning struck his body, nearly tearing him apart. He was reaching his limit.
"Thulon, are you really going to allow yourself to be weak? Who will protect the people you love afterward?" Darian’s voice echoed, making him roar in response.
A few days ago, he had been nothing but a mediocre weakling. Now, he knew that every extra second he could endure during this ordeal would benefit him immensely. He refused to admit defeat or faint.
That was his conviction. The fury of the heavens wasn’t even targeting him; if he couldn’t endure even this minimal amount of power, how could he follow Darian and protect his race in the future?
More lightning runes poured down without showing any signs of weakening. On the contrary, they simply intensified. Darian looked like he was being bathed in lightning.
Even though that lightning was violent, it was absorbed by his body like water into dry soil. Those lightning runes, once furious tigers, turned into gentle sheep when entering his body. They gradually fused into his flesh and blood.
Darian became excited. Even with his primordial physique, that technique consumed his chaos power to remain active. But now, his natural physique was growing stronger. This would bring countless benefits in the future.
"IT’S READY!!!!"
Suddenly, a loud, almost guttural voice from the effort echoed.
It was that Alv leader shouting, raising both hands high, holding a golden crystal. Two others among the enemies did the same.
Then, their foreheads split open, and blood gushed out, condensing into chains that linked them to everyone from their nearby races.
In that moment, three golden lights appeared above them. At first, they were ethereal, but they became more and more solid and realistic, taking shape. In seconds... three figures manifested, opening their eyes.
"Oh? You finally showed up to the party." Darian’s mocking voice sounded.
The gaze of the three turned toward the distant Darian. They were obviously the three enemy Spiritual Sovereigns, Reignar, Guren, and Haekla.
Darian wasn’t an idiot. In that past mission, those two immortal demons had been able to split their souls and take part in the mission alongside their people. And the soul power level of these three should be a thousand times greater.
What would be the best way to ensure Darian couldn’t do anything except face them directly?
Darian had always counted on this, fully sure they would do exactly that. He, of course, understood the nature of a Heavenly Annihilation far better than those idiots.
"Darian, you’re courting death!" the furious voice of the Alv Reignar boomed.
Seeing that insanity caused by Darian, the three were shocked and enraged. Especially because they saw him standing in the center, completely calm and without a single scratch. That could only mean he wanted to kill everyone and had the strength to survive.
As a result of his fury, the immortal power of his soul was unleashed.
Darian smiled, "Idiot."
**BOOM!**
Consequently, a lightning bolt on the same level as what Darian was enduring crashed down toward him.
"AAAAAH"
"NO!"
Screams of despair rang out, followed by bursts of blood. Almost a hundred of their people were obliterated.
Darian let out a small laugh at their stupidity. If they dared use their power any further, those fragments of their souls would be destroyed.
If it were a Heavenly Tribulation or Heavenly Punishment, they were confident they could use their powers and then endure the consequences without having their souls destroyed. But in the face of this Heavenly Annihilation, that was a foolish dream.
"You’re the one courting death. I told you not to provoke me, that I’d live my life on my planet without doing anything against you. But it seems you didn’t listen properly. And now you want to play this game with me?"
The three didn’t respond immediately. They swallowed their fury and regrouped, approaching the people of their race. They didn’t use their powers directly, but instead manipulated the Bloodline and the ring power of those there.
In mere seconds, a golden barrier rose like a dome. All the nearly 700 survivors ran desperately toward the protection.
After that, the three turned to Darian...
...then saw his red eyes staring at them from afar, and a sinister smile formed at the corner of his mouth. That left the three completely frozen.
What was he thinking? In their hearts, Darian had become a completely chaotic and unpredictable figure, like a beast absolutely impossible to tame.
"Darian, do you know the consequences of your actions today?!" hissed Reignar. He didn’t dare shout or speak with force anymore. Even though fury consumed him, he held himself back.
"Consequences?" Darian mocked.
"No, this is just the beginning. That day, you should’ve understood that you shouldn’t provoke me. You think that just because you’re an immortal, you’re some supreme being? Think you can take other people’s lives without consequences? I’ll come after your head sooner or later. But don’t worry. Until that day comes, I’ll play with you until death."
Darian was consumed by hatred. How many Golems had they ordered killed from that Tribe? How many people had they slaughtered over their lifetimes?
They even devoured the cores of entire universes. They didn’t kill the people in the universe directly, but as they died over time, nothing ever appeared again. So it wasn’t even possible to calculate their karma.
"Very well, then let’s see what happens," Reignar muttered coldly.
"See what happens? No, no, no... I’m going to show you right now, just a bit. Then you can enjoy that memory back at home, feeling a taste of this joy."
The three turned to Darian with sharp gazes.
Then...
Darian’s feet dug into the ground.
His eyes closed for a brief moment.
When they opened...
...an emerald green appeared like a beacon.
A fluorescent aura burst from him like a flame. It shot up into the heavens like a divine pillar.
The bolts that focused on him, upon touching that aura, dissolved completely and vanished.
"!"
Everyone widened their eyes. The devastating power from the heavens was nothing before that.
The Golems looked at Darian, their hearts pounding like drums. They knew that power and presence very well. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"G-Golem King!" many shouted in excitement.
Darian gripped two daggers in his hands, then focused on those three, a sinister smile on his face.
"Since you came... you can’t leave without taking a gift, right?"
Darian whispered, and all the clouds in the sky seemed to freeze for a second.
Everything stopped and fell silent.
All the power coming from Darian suddenly moved, as if being sucked into his daggers.
In the next second.
*Blinding Break*
A double slash shot out like two blades capable of splitting the world.
The three were stunned. The level of power in that attack was unimaginable. Even an immortal, if physically present, couldn’t take that lightly. And they...
They were only three fragmented pieces of their souls. They even had the power to block it, but...
If they did, the heavens would strike them and destroy them.
But if they didn’t... Darian would do it himself.
*SON OF A BITCH!*
The three let out screams of pure hatred.
Then... a violent shattering sound echoed. It was like a massive mirror exploding.
Everyone froze.
The souls of the three Spiritual Sovereigns... who were their secret weapon to defeat Darian... were completely destroyed.
