Chapter 552: Terrifyingly Powerful

"Dan, where are we going?" Alear asked excitedly.

Except for Czaza, everyone else entered the flying boat and left that planet.

"When our pockets are empty, you need to expose the strong and support the weak, rob the rich to help the poor," Darian said righteously, but his mocking smile made his real intentions obvious.

"Hahaha, great!" When she heard that, Niara’s eyes lit up with excitement.

"What does that mean?" Alear asked, her big eyes full of innocent curiosity.

In an instant, Darian found himself in an awkward situation, not knowing how to explain. He couldn’t just say straight out that they were going to rob people.

Niara helped him, saying she’d understand soon enough. So Darian pointed out the coordinates, and Alear piloted the flying boat.

***

In less than three days, they quickly reached a massive planet in another solar system.

It was a very well-known trading planet of the Twilight Owls. Because of that, there wasn’t any major inspection; anyone could enter directly, but everything was being watched by powerful people, so no one dared do anything wrong.

The flying boat moved slowly toward the central commercial city, continental in size. There were countless buildings there, with all kinds of races allied with the Twilight Owls selling things.

At the very center, there was a huge and beautiful domed building. Around it were dozens of luxurious, shining structures. All of that was definitely the main area of the Twilight Owl race on that planet.

Only then did Alear’s eyes sparkle, as if she finally understood something.

They didn’t need to get off the flying boat. Actually, no one walked on the streets; everyone flew slowly or moved through suspended buildings. Every structure had been built to receive them that way.

As they advanced toward the place, they all felt increasingly intense fluctuations. Inside that cluster of central buildings, there were many figures at the peak of this universe’s power.

Darian simply ignored them, and everyone continued forward.

When they reached the gates, the two guards looked at Darian with disdain. They felt the leader of that flying boat was a human, and that race was at the lowest level in the universe.

"Stop! You are—"

Darian turned toward them with a mocking smile, not caring to hear the rest.

"Since you didn’t come to see me first, I came to collect the taxes myself."

He grabbed a dagger, and an extremely dense Earth power flowed. With one strike, he slashed the gate.

**BOOM!**

It was like a meteor exploding against the door. The entire city trembled, and that giant gate was reduced to splinters.

As for the two guards, they spat blood and were sent flying far away. The blast of wind from that attack nearly tore them apart.

They hadn’t raised their defenses because they didn’t expect anyone to be insane enough to attack directly, challenging the whole Twilight Owl race head-on. It was pure madness.

*BOOM! BOOM!*

Dozens of powerful figures had been behind the gate on watch. The three races were sworn enemies, and surprise attacks on important locations were common.

So when the gate exploded, they were thrown uncontrollably, crashing into the surrounding buildings and completely destroying them.

"Give us everything you’ve got!!"

Niara roared playfully, as if she were a bandit from the movies she watched with the twins on Earth. The whole city heard her, and everyone widened their eyes, completely stunned.

"But... aren’t we here to collect taxes?" Alear asked with a confused expression.

Darian replied calmly, "Meh, taxes need paperwork... that’s too much trouble. Robbing people is faster and ends the same."

"How dare you?! You’re courting death!" In that instant, an enraged roar echoed.

A figure radiating an aura even stronger than that previous enemy leader appeared, burning with killing intent.

Darian stared at him with disdain and mockery. "This path was opened by me, these trees were planted by me! Everything here is mine! I advise you not to resist. After all, the money belongs to the business, but your lives belong to you. We’re here only for the money, not the lives. In short: get lost."

Niara’s eyes lit up. Darian had made a nearly identical quote to one from a movie she watched. She laughed excitedly with the two sharing the same reference.

"Hahaha!" that man also laughed, but furiously. That was the best joke he’d ever heard. Someone trying to rob him?

At the same time, his body shone, taking the form of a gigantic shadowy owl. After two seconds, he roared, "Today, none of you will leave alive! Activate the grand inscription! Slaughter all of them!"

The next instant, the entire building seemed to float into the air, and barriers lit up. Dozens of them activated, instantly turning that place into an inescapable prison, with the flying boat inside.

"Oh? They trapped themselves with the tiger in the cave?" Alear couldn’t help saying with a mocking smile.

On the flying boat, everyone behind them had strange expressions, listening to those ridiculous, mocking lines from the trio in front. The three of them were definitely birds of a feather.

Once the barriers formed, the man laughed and waved his hand, making the world turn dark. A sinister coldness spread, causing a subtle shiver in everyone. It was as if they had been transported into the darkness of night.

One second later, everyone on the flying boat changed expressions. A mocking look appeared on their faces, too. Was this supposed to be a cheap imitation of the Risen’s corruption? They all thought it at the same time.

Darian laughed as well. The people behind him drew their weapons. But Darian signaled for them to stay quiet and focus on his previous orders.

In the next instant, in the middle of the shadows, several figures could be felt charging toward Darian with sharp claws.

Darian grabbed Eleri, and the dagger pulsed with an intense blue light.

With a smooth motion, the dagger shot from his hand forward like a massive water dragon.

It crashed into all of them, giving no chance to react. Instantly, the moment it touched them, the water invaded their bodies and devoured their life force.

"AAAAH!" Some screamed in terror, others couldn’t even manage that.

Before the stunned eyes of the enemy leader, those Twilight Owls shriveled up as if all their blood and muscles had vanished. They hit the ground fast, already completely lifeless.

From afar, that enemy leader was deeply shocked. The ones who attacked were much weaker than him, but all working together, they were a real nightmare to handle. How could they be wiped out instantly?

There had been thirty-six assassins, all of them at the highest level of this universe, though a bit below average overall. Even so, they couldn’t withstand a single attack.

"What idiots... kinda pitiful," Alear mocked.

Even though she wasn’t familiar with the Twilight Owl race, she and everyone else were very used to dealing with the Risen.

The Twilight Owls had a naturally dark power, similar to miasma and corruption. They fought, hiding in the shadows or using that power to weaken their targets; they were like assassins. But compared to high-level Risen, their power was pathetic. Any Spiritual Guardian with nine rings would have an easy time killing them.

"Humph, so you do have some skill, but that doesn’t change the fact that all of you are dead! This old man will do it personally!" that enemy leader mocked and flapped his wings. His whole body pulsed with a sharp, bloody power.

Darian turned to Tizol and Lihan, "Get ready to move like in the plan. I’m counting on you."

"YES!!"

The two roared excitedly; Darian was counting on them for something they were good at. Lihan clenched her fists, focused, holding a dagger that pulsed with wind power.

"Fools! Die!"

That Twilight Owl roared with a devastating attack toward the boat. However, the moment he got close, a chilling killing intent locked onto him, making all his feathers stand on end.

Darian snorted, and his eyes closed.

The very next second, when he opened them again...

An emerald-green light replaced his natural red. In his body, Gaia’s core filled with power.

He smiled wickedly. That whole universe was alive and radiant, and every planet had a Gaia. And on this particular planet, the moment Darian tried asking for power, it gave it to him immediately, almost eagerly.

Gaia was the consciousness of the planet, a living being. Their intelligence varied greatly, but some could even speak directly. Everything that happened on the planet was sensed by Gaia.

And on that planet, this entity had already sensed that Darian was a missionary; their perception of that was extremely sharp. The Twilight Owls had probably been doing sinister things on the planet for a long time, and Gaia, who saw everything, wanted Darian to eliminate them.

Darian snorted and unleashed all his power in a flash. His primordial physique, along with all of Gaia’s power, surged forth. It was like a sheep instantly turning into a dragon.

"What?!"

The enemy’s reaction was shock, and he quickly pulled back his claw in a defensive move.

However, Darian stepped forward and appeared like a ghost right in front of him.

*BANG!*

With a simple punch... he was launched like a shooting star, crashing through countless buildings that exploded instantly on contact.

In the end, that Twilight Owl slammed against the barrier. He had flown from the front gate all the way to the back gate before bouncing off the barrier.

Because of the impact, he coughed up a lot of blood. To his surprise, Darian’s first strike had heavily injured him. Shock, rage, and a growing sense of fear flooded him. After all, he had only escaped death because he had summoned all his power beforehand.

Worse... he clearly felt that Darian had attacked casually; he wasn’t even using a weapon!

Then...

"Disappear."

In that instant, Darian’s voice echoed like a demon’s decree. He struck again, now less than ten meters from his target.

At that moment, the enemy leader became completely horrified, unable to understand how a simple human could possess such terrifying power.

"FUCK!"

He clenched his teeth and roared. Fleeing was impossible, so he could only go all out.

**KBOOM!**

A wave of destruction spread out, leveling every building inside the barrier.

As for the countless figures of that race inside, they were possibly crushed by the destruction, or at least heavily injured. They were cultivators; they didn’t die that easily, since their bodies grew stronger with their power.

When the dust settled, the once luxurious and shining complex of Twilight Owl buildings was in ruins. The leader was lying at the bottom of a massive crater. His eyes were open and empty.

He wasn’t dead, but he was a centimeter from it. When the barrier protecting the place shattered completely, the countless figures outside managed to see the situation inside... everyone was in shock and horror. The whole city was stunned.

"Papa is awesome!" Alear shouted with a huge smile.

Darian floated back to the flying boat, also a little surprised. That power... wasn’t just something given by Gaia. He hadn’t even needed to use everything... but his four cores and seven rings synchronized, increasing his strength tremendously. He felt that any attack of his had now become dozens of times stronger.

Before, he was a defensive anomaly, almost impossibly hard to kill. Now, he was terrifying... terrifyingly powerful offensively.
