Damned Healer-Chapter 576: Battle Desire
The auras of the two exploded violently. Even before they actually exchanged blows, space was already shaking and twisting; everyone outside looked like they were watching an aquarium whose waters were completely turbulent.
Without exchanging a single word, the two shot forward and collided.
A sword and a dagger, pulsing with the power of earth, crashed into each other. That collision shook that entire small world. It wasn't just inside the crater: cracks spread across the ground, rapidly extending outward.
The people in the army swallowed hard. If they were still in there, they would have been injured just by the shockwaves of power.
This direct clash lacked any technique or skill. It was a pure collision of physical force.
Even so, when their auras erupted, a tyrannical pressure made everyone outside feel suffocated.
The two were thrown backward.
Darian moved like a ghost, holding two daggers. He quickly launched another direct attack, coming from behind Vanh.
But this time, the entire place was taken over by his multicolored aura, like a magnificent painted scroll whose colors were now moving. The world became vivid and lifelike.
Vanh, on the other hand, easily kept up with Darian's speed. In fact, he was even faster. He turned and slashed with his sword, wrapped in a layer of immortal power.
When the strike was unleashed, the world trembled, and a massive mass of spatial rifts opened up. The power of that cut was ten times greater than the first.
Darian gathered all his strength and power into this attack, with Awel pushing its elemental power to the limit. This was the first time Darian released all of his strength without any restraints.
**BOOOM!**
The two clashed once again. This time, the void exploded, and uncontrolled power manifested. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
Colossal cracks spread out, bursting from inside that crater sealed by the scarlet web. The level of this confrontation was definitely beyond the mortal scope; it felt like the world could collapse at any moment.
Runar took a deep breath. Darian had a physique and explosive power that were completely disproportionate and terrifying. He definitely had the power to fight this enemy for a bit, but…
After the clash, the two retreated once more. This time, however, everyone saw Darian with his body covered in cracks. He stopped and spat out a mouthful of blood.
In the next second, white energy covered his body, healing him completely in an instant. Runar's eyes widened; he recognized the origin of that power.
"So even the elder sister… how many important people helped this missionary?" Runar murmured, stunned. He had seen many missionaries, but none had so many things at this level.
Darian snorted, staring at Vanh, who did not move.
In just two exchanges, Darian was already in terrible condition and had needed to heal himself. Fortunately, after Vanh killed all those people, Darian had gained plenty of White and Black power to use. But that wouldn't last forever.
"I'll attack for real now," Vanh said calmly.
Everyone outside forgot to breathe. Darian was clearly using everything he had, but Vanh definitely wasn't. Even so, Darian was already at a disadvantage.
An intense golden power ignited around Vanh, like a flame. Then his eyes changed—the red turned black. The golden flame around him trembled, then drew closer and fused with his skin.
In seconds, his entire body was covered, as if he were wearing a complete set of golden armor. That was Vanh's blessing, called Devil's Corruption. It was something from the Tank class, but after he became an immortal, it changed completely. (Chapter 233)
There was no longer any demonic, black aura. His defensive power became absurdly higher, and the negative effect of this blessing—the extremely high consumption of ring power and mental strain—no longer seemed like a major issue.
This blessing, combined with the power of the second spiritual root, the one that belonged to Darian's father, turned Vanh into a Tank that moved through space perfectly.
On top of that, over the years, Vanh stopped using two different weapons and trying to be the best at everything, like he did in that earlier tournament. He focused solely on becoming a sword specialist, learning many Magical Techniques and training until exhaustion. This granted him terrifying offensive power.
It was a perfect combination of defense, speed, and offensive power. Even before Vanh became an immortal, he was already known as someone unbeatable.
In a single second, he activated everything. Beyond his armor, the entire place was flooded by a golden aura. The people watching were tense; the current Vanh was absolutely terrifying. He looked like an incomparable celestial god, with a power that shook their souls.
At that moment, Darian's eyes changed.
Darian's aura erupted explosively. The seven colors from before faded away, leaving only a peculiar bluish tone.
Niara and Alear felt it directly in their Bloodlines, keeping their eyes locked on Darian.
Runar's eyes widened; Vanh was also surprised.
All four of them recognized it. That was pure primordial power. Something that should only exist at the beginning of a universe, and it was exactly what gave birth to the Primordial Beasts.
However…
Even with that new, powerful force emerging within Darian, Vanh's power practically filled the entire place, completely suppressing it. It was as if Darian were a candle in the middle of a violent gale, almost being blown out.
*Wooosh!*
Vanh didn't waste any time. He moved his sword and vanished with a perfect spatial movement.
Darian snorted. In terms of speed, he was also inferior. In fact, the only thing where he was on the same level as Vanh was his defensive power. His primordial physique wouldn't be broken easily, and Darian could heal from any injury.
But…
The senses coming from his curse were flaring at their absolute peak.
Vanh had just slaughtered millions of people in cold blood, without giving them any chance to react. That granted him an even denser black karma than usual, turning him into a true beacon for Darian.
It didn't matter how fast he was; even if it were a perfect spatial teleport, Darian could still almost foresee the future, sensing the flow of Vanh's black karma.
Darian's dagger pulsed. He turned toward the skies, and his entire body vibrated, driving an overwhelming force into the attack.
*Blinding Break*
Everything happened extremely fast. Vanh vanished, and Darian moved immediately.
In that instant, Vanh appeared exactly where Darian struck. A blade capable of splitting the world rushed toward him without warning, catching him off guard.
**KBOOM!**
With the thunderous collision, gigantic cracks appeared in the sky and the land.
Right after that, waves of uncontrolled energy spread rapidly. It didn't stay confined to the crater region, bursting outward; it was as if the entire world were about to shatter.
As a result, everyone outside immediately released all of their power to protect themselves. Even so, they were thrown backward by the impact.
On the other hand, Lucy was prepared. She activated the inscription that connected everyone in advance. Because of that, when they were hit, even though that power had already been greatly weakened, no one was injured. Still, everyone felt as if astral winds were blades slicing across their faces. It felt like their flesh was being torn from their bodies.
A short while later, everything began to stabilize…
Everyone rushed back and looked at the battlefield. Then they saw Vanh in the air, completely unharmed. As for Darian, his primordial aura was clearly weaker.
Darian took a deep breath. That was his greatest trump card. He was using all the power from the bones of that Primordial Beast he had obtained in this universe. With that, he could use his offensive technique at full power at least three more times.
He only realized this now, since he had never had access to so much raw power before. His technique had a limit to how much energy could be applied; he couldn't pour everything into a single devastating strike against Vanh.
But…
…right in the very first move, when Vanh was caught off guard, and the chance to injure him was at its highest, he didn't suffer any injury at all.
Anyone would feel despair. But in Darian's eyes, only the desire for battle burned. It was as if he lived to fight. Only in battle could he understand himself; only in battle could he see himself clearly.
He felt his body vibrating. He didn't understand why, but he felt that there was a chance to win. He just didn't know how. Even so, he had to figure it out before everything he had ran out, or this would be his end.
