Damned Healer-Chapter 625: Appearance Of Arrogance
Suddenly, a loud boom echoed through the arena. The bricks of the martial stage began to glow, and an out-of-control pressure made the barrier ripple.
As waves of the Nether Beasts' curse surged out, they passed through the barrier and spread into the stands.
Screams of terror rang out. Everyone there was a powerful Heaven Saint, yet they still felt suffocated by that pressure; some even felt as if their heads were about to split in half.
Fortunately, everyone who had the means to pay and watch that fight had pills and treasures to rely on. They used everything they could and managed to endure it.
"The pressure inside the barrier would probably crush me to death!" a figure in the stands exclaimed.
"The scariest part is that this is just the beginning. It's going to get worse."
Everyone continued to endure the pressure with bitterness. They had no other choice, since they had already bought their seats. Although there was a button on their seats that would allow them to leave safely, once outside, they would not be allowed to return. On top of that, the price of those seats was so high that even the richest felt regret just thinking about wasting them.
As the martial stage continued to shake, more runes lit up across the bricks. The space on the stage began to warp as the pressure increased.
Darian simply stood there, his arms behind his back. That kind of pressure did not affect him at all, and no one knew what kind of power he was using to neutralize it.
Any Spiritual Guardian who had gone through Heavenly Annihilation with him in the past would feel that this was extremely gentle by comparison. Even those who had gone through Heavenly Punishment and become immortals would not be affected.
"Darian, do you really think the others don't notice you're using tricks to protect yourself? There's no chance you're leaving the martial stage alive," Caoming mocked.
His helmet hid most of his face, leaving only his eyes visible. His pupils were especially sinister and intimidating.
Darian looked at him with disdain. "Alright, alright. At least try to be a bit entertaining, yeah?"
"You think you can provoke me like that? What a fool!" Caoming sneered.
"You overestimate yourself. At first, I thought I might at least warm up a little. But… you basically gave yourself away the moment you put on that battle armor," Darian replied lightly.
"Hahaha!" Caoming laughed. "How interesting. I've never seen someone so arrogant. Let's see if that mouth of yours stays so tough while I tear you apart bit by bit."
Suddenly, Caoming stepped forward, causing the space around him to distort. He was clearly struggling against the terrifying pressure, with the runes almost seeming to push him back.
In response, Darian's eyes softly shone with multiple colors. Then, he also lazily stepped forward, making the space around him distort in the same way.
However, when Darian moved, the spectators — including Caofeng and the other clan masters — almost cried out in shock.
When Caoming advanced, he had forcibly repelled the pressure runes around him. But when Darian advanced, those same runes fled from him as if they were afraid.
"Interesting." Alaric smiled.
With a satisfied smile, Sylvanos understood the situation and explained: "Darian… he possesses such a pure and terrifying physique that these runes were completely subdued by his presence."
Niara nodded upon hearing the explanation. Darian had gone through a nivarnic rebirth, driven by the primordial power of two phoenixes.
It was as if his body was, in part, something close to a primordial beast. Alear was similar, but far superior in that regard.
After that, he had nourished himself to the fullest and pushed his body to its physical limit. When he activated only the Stellar Physique, curses and forces that were not being directly wielded by a powerful individual like these were simply repelled, without him needing to do anything at all.
Darian and Caoming kept moving forward. Darian's steps were incredibly light, like a dragonfly touching the surface of water. In contrast, Caoming's steps were extremely heavy, making the ground tremble with every movement.
Even so, neither side hesitated. As they advanced, the pressure throughout the entire arena steadily increased.
The barrier around them also began to bulge as power spread through it. Even if it was just a little, it still horrified the spectators. If the barrier were not there, that pressure would have crushed them.
"Shut up and watch! The barrier isn't going to explode!" Caofeng roared, irritated by all the shouting coming from the stands.
The spectators instantly turned pale and shut their mouths, not daring to provoke him.
At that moment, the voice of Jason, the leader of the Violet Sky Clan, echoed out:
"You're mistaken. This arena does not belong to you; it is public property of the city. Others may say whatever they want here, as long as they stay within the rules. No one has the right to give them orders. With your anxious and hot-tempered behavior, some might even think you're actually afraid of Darian."
Caofeng immediately flew into a rage and stood up, making the tension spread instantly to everyone around him.
Seeing Caofeng like that, the spectators jumped in fright. If he really started a fight there, would they even survive?
Instinctively, they prepared their hands to press the button that would teleport them out. Even though their seats were extremely valuable, their lives were far more important.
However, Caofeng did not attack. He simply pointed at Jason and shouted, "You're spouting nonsense! Not even ten of him could defeat my grandson!"
"Hahaha..." Niara couldn't hold back and interrupted, laughing out loud. "This comedy show is pure gold! That foolish son of yours will soon be looking for his teeth on the ground and begging for mercy."
"Who the hell are you?! You think someone like you has the right to speak here?!" Caofeng roared. "That sinister, beastly aura of yours is far too strong. Who's to say you aren't a Nether Beast? You likely have a diluted Bloodline just to slip into the city unnoticed. Those hateful enemies must have finally perfected some elaborate concealment technique. We've seen their tricks many times before, and they always end the same way: exposed!"
Everyone in the arena swallowed hard. Many had always wondered what Niara truly was when they saw and sensed her. However, since she had managed to enter the city, they assumed it was something else. Now… hearing that the Nether Beasts had tried similar tricks in the past, people grew tense.
Niara curled her lips. "Tch, how can someone who got beaten up by me act this arrogant here? I'm really impressed by your courage. If you can talk here, why can't I?"
By poking at the wound, Niara instantly drove Caofeng insane.
"Courting death!" he roared, nearly exploding with rage. Just his roar made the entire martial stage tremble, and his killing intent flooded the stands.
"If you keep shouting and disturbing us, ignoring the rules, I will have no choice but to send you away." At that moment, a cold voice rang out once again.
The city Lord reprimanded him without even sparing him a glance.
At that moment, Niara even raised a finger and placed it against her lips, gesturing for him to be quiet. With a malicious smile, she whispered, "Hey, did you hear that? Don't spew crap so loudly, or you'll get tossed out like trash. I suggest you hold it in for now."
Niara's expression was a true invitation to torture. Hearing that, Caofeng trembled with rage, the hair on his body standing on end. He truly feared losing control.
After the emotions in the stands finally settled, everyone turned their eyes back to the stage.
The two continued advancing, even as the pressure increased. Their steps grew faster and faster, until they looked like two shooting stars crashing into each other.
"Scarlet Wolf of the Sea of Blood!"
Caoming roared, releasing his manifestation — a gigantic sea of blood, with a colossal figure hidden within it.
In an instant, his power flared up, blasting away the runes pressing down on him.
"Die!"
Caoming gave Darian no chance to breathe. The moment he released his manifestation, he unleashed a wave of raw energy, reinforced by a devastating punch.
A surge of power rushed toward Darian. As for him, he merely moved casually, striking the enemy's sharp fist with a single punch.
Saelil and Maeyu covered their eyes, while Herta and Hart clenched their fists tightly.
**BOOM!**
A majestic multicolored light erupted at the center of the impact.
With that collision, the entire curse of the martial stage was instantly annihilated. All pressure vanished in a single moment.
Countless spectators stood there dumbfounded. Darian remained standing in the same spot, while his eyes pulsed with a hypnotic light, as bright and powerful as stars.
He was wrapped in a violet aura, with a flowing cloak trailing behind him. The multicolored light released from his punch spread in all directions, giving him a noble, sacred, and coldly arrogant appearance.
Seeing Darian in that state, countless girls screamed hysterically in the stands. The visual impact was simply overwhelming.
As for the opponent…
He was lying several meters ahead, awkwardly struggling inside his armor, trying to get back up.
Darian allowed him to stand, wearing an expression of disdain.
When he finally managed to rise…
"GODS!"
People shouted in shock.
At the center of that armor, there was a huge dent, exactly the size of a fist.
