Damned Healer-Chapter 649: Court Jesters
Darian didn't want to waste his chaos power, so he made a simple gesture, opening his right hand. Ailik immediately stepped forward and held his hand. In the next second, the third eye on her forehead opened.
Everyone, with their weapons aimed at them, noticed nothing different. Until, suddenly, those four were covered by a distortion and vanished right in front of their eyes.
"What?!"
Caofeng's eyes widened. Then he abruptly turned toward Alaric and the corpse.
The four appeared instantly right in front of them.
The entire enemy army narrowed its eyes, feeling that something was very wrong. They had moved without any kind of fluctuation, at a speed that couldn't be stopped. If they wanted to, they could flee or attack from behind them.
Darian smiled faintly.
Ailik, working together with him and using her new spiritual root, had incredible potential to control space-time. It was just that she was still young and had little time to study; in the future, it was hard to even predict what her limit would be.
The enemy army had initially wanted to split up and attack Alaric and that group, but now they no longer had that option. To attack Alaric, they had to get past those four first.
In the skies, space twisted, revealing a humanoid figure.
Darian looked at him coldly. He was nearly two meters tall, dressed in white robes, with a well-built physique, muscular but not excessive. He was clearly a human man, quite handsome, with an immaculate aura, as if he were a saint.
But… his karma was so black and dense that Darian had rarely seen anything like it in his life. That figure had done so many terrible things that even a Risen Lord would feel jealous.
His cultivation was the same as the City Lord's, making him one of the four most powerful figures in this universe, in the Emperor Saint Realm. He was the leader of the Primordial Empire.
"Oh? You finally decided to show up. Where's that bitch?" Niara mocked. "If she takes her clothes off here, I'm sure some perverted old man will enjoy watching a dried-up stick like her."
Niara's words made those people's eyes widen in shock. Earlier, Melva had been forcibly dragged out of the Golden Sky Mountain by the Emperor.
When she appeared, they had only seen her figure wrapped in flames. However, that figure looked strange, almost as if… she wasn't wearing clothes.
At that moment, Darian waved his hand, and three figures came out of his inventory.
Eleri appeared wrapped in a pulsing aura of wind, radiating a captivating beauty, like a small celestial fairy. She wore a striking feather dress that everyone immediately recognized; it was impossible to copy the aura of the Gale-Enduring Heron.
But the feathers were no longer grayish like before, instead subtly greenish and glowing. All the wind element in the area seemed to bow around her.
Beside her appeared a smiling little girl, holding a whip made of bluish bones. Each small bone from the Glacier-Piercing Egret on that whip seemed to emit its own light. Around it, a spatial distortion emerged… no…
…the power of ice was freezing the very space around it.
Everyone felt their hearts race, sensing an absurd pressure emanating from those two small figures.
At first, no one knew what had happened to Melva. After all, no one dared to anger the Emperor by asking. If anyone else had said that, they might not have believed it. But now they understood exactly what had happened…
The most shocked of all was the Emperor himself. After all… those two terrifying pieces of equipment were now radiating more than 50% of their capacity.
That was unbelievable. Melva, who was the greatest genius in history when using those things, couldn't even use 10% of their power.
Tir was also standing beside his sisters. But no one could sense that, in his fist, there was a small earth crystal, coming from a terrifying figure of the past.
Niara continued, "Seriously, where's that stick-shaped woman? Dan stripped her and took her whip. But she doesn't even have the guts to take revenge?"
"Emperor, let me capture them! We'll make them regret ever being born into this world!"
A young male figure roared, consumed by fury. He was likely one of Melva's new suitors. Since she had become a widow, there was no shortage of men willing to kill and die to win her over.
"They are mere court jesters. They pose no threat. Attack at once; we have no time for this," the Emperor replied, commanding them in a dry tone.
Darian turned slightly and looked into Ailik's eyes. She nodded and took a few steps forward, standing beside those three. Ramel was on her shoulder.
At that moment, just as everyone was about to burst into an attack… they stopped in surprise.
Only now did they notice that small Sparrow, and they felt its Bloodline.
"That… that's a pure Heaven-Devouring Sparrow?!"
Jason exclaimed, shocked. Everyone's eyes turned toward Darian.
He shrugged. "What? Did you really think I was the heir of that race? You're truly blind. This kid has been by my side the whole time. Actually, he's the son of the leader of that race and clan."
The Emperor and the others took a deep breath. The Heaven-Devouring Sparrow hadn't dominated the universe and become number one for nothing. If they were allowed to grow, no one at the same cultivation level could deal with one individually.
If this youngster had stayed hidden and grown without anyone discovering him, once he reached the ninth level of the Heaven Saint Realm, he would be a huge problem. But if he managed to break through to the Emperor Saint Realm… he would be an immense danger lurking for everyone.
"Hahaha… great, you revealed yourself far too early. Now, don't even dream of leaving alive!"
Caofeng roared, and everyone smiled darkly. They were more than happy to end this problem once and for all and never again fear such a powerful race.
"KILL!"
Without wasting any more time, the three Primordial Chosen ordered a full assault.
There were nearly two hundred people. All of them were at the ninth level of the Heaven Saint Realm and were the elite of the universe, equipped with the best gear and techniques possible.
Aside from them, there were only two other even more powerful figures, who were in the Emperor Saint Realm. But with so many at the peak of the universe gathered together, not even one of the four would dare to underestimate this army.
To "guarantee victory," they all united into a single force and charged head-on like a massive wave.
They moved like a spear thrusting forward with unstoppable momentum. Together, with the power they had, either those ants would flee, or they would be slaughtered.
But… Darian and Niara didn't move.
In fact, there was a look of pure contempt and mockery on both their faces.
Awel waved, her eyes shining. Only she, Ailik, Ramel, Tir, and Eleri acted.
The five of them were fully focused, their powers flowing in an extremely well-trained synchronicity.
Darian merely watched calmly. Now, his three small allies could once again fight on their own, even after their true bodies had been transformed into daggers. In a harsh, difficult battle, Darian no longer needed to choose just one or two to fight alongside him while the others stayed watching from the inventory.
Of course, when they were in dagger form and used by Darian, their strength was far greater. But he couldn't, and it wasn't efficient to use all three at the same time. Now, the others could support him with their own powers, since they could become a real threat even by themselves.
Awel, for example, could return to dagger form, activate the runic seal, and easily kill a very powerful person. Eleri, with her whip, had lower raw power, but later, Haruto could place a runic seal on the whip, and everything would change. As for Tir… it was only a matter of time before he could create anti-life and become terrifyingly lethal.
Not to mention that, in the future, all three could still grow and develop much further.
Back to the battle. Awel flashed and vanished in the blink of an eye.
"GO!" Eleri smiled and charged straight ahead.
*POW!*
The bone whip shot out, releasing a horrifying sound. It was like a devastating missile flying straight forward.
"!"
All the enemies advancing through the sky and across the land felt a freezing wave approaching, making the world stagnate as it passed. Without hesitation, they all dodged in different directions, opening a huge hole in their offensive.
"Idiots…" Darian snorted.
What was the point of gathering like that if, in the very first second, they scattered like headless cockroaches in every direction? What kind of stupid army was that?
This was predictable. They were all arrogant figures who thought themselves above everyone else. The current situation had forced them to 'unite,' but in reality, they were each fighting for themselves without thinking about the whole. They had zero sense of unity.
At that moment, in the skies, a little girl suddenly appeared. Her eyes pulsed with a subtle green light, and the feathers of her dress trembled.
"Calamity of the Winds!"
All the air in the heavens began to spin. A colossal tornado suddenly formed and crashed down onto the crowd.
From the side, Ramel roared, his small body pulsing entirely.
"Devour!"
The Sparrow opened its tiny beak, and a terrifying suction force was felt by everyone around. Space itself warped, and those people felt their bodies being dragged toward it against their will.
They were terrified. Everyone knew the ultimate power of that primordial beast. They didn't have great defenses, but it didn't matter how powerful someone was; if they were devoured by one of them, they would die without leaving anything behind.
In the past, there had been countless cases of a Heaven-Devouring Sparrow devouring someone from an entire realm above itself, and killing them instantly. Once inside the 'stomach' of that beast, all the power in the body vanished, and the person could only die miserably.
Ailik was the only one who remained still. Her eyes were closed, and in her hand, a small object shone.
In the skies, the Emperor, who had only been watching from afar, widened his eyes.
He recognized that object. It was the Sacred Treasure of the Heaven-Devouring Sparrow Clan. It was the treasure that controlled the power of the Void!
Immediately, all the attackers felt the power of the Void within their bodies freeze.
Their eyes bulged in disbelief.
In this universe, the term Void Cultivation didn't exist for nothing; everyone cultivated by absorbing the power of the Void of this universe into their bodies. As a result, about 70% of their power came from that force. Anyone capable of influencing that force inside them became a top-tier threat.
That had never happened before, and they had no idea how it was possible. Not even the leader of that race, who wielded the same Sacred Treasure, could do something on that level.
But that wasn't all.
Ailik opened her eyes, and her other three arms made a gentle forward motion.
In that instant, an extremely high-level Void power twisted, creating a furious storm that attacked those people. A deadly danger surged from that storm.
The four acted quickly. In a single instant, four absurdly dangerous moves, coming from four different directions, were unleashed. Each one was capable of easily killing any of them.
Everything happened very fast. Even so, the enemies were experienced figures, full of resources.
They didn't panic and reacted swiftly. They pulled out their trump cards: equipment, strange treasures, and powerful mobility techniques.
In the end, all of them could easily escape, even with deadly attacks coming from every possible direction.
But…
Both of Tir's hands shone with an intense earth-brown light. He suddenly slammed his hands together. At that moment, the entire ground began to shake.
"Celestial Burial Coffin!"
**RUMBLE!**
Unexpectedly, the world around those people lost all color.
Everyone was shocked when, in mere seconds, walls of earth rose from all directions, sealing off a massive area around them.
Many slammed violently into the walls and spat blood. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Even when using treasures that, in theory, distorted space to take them away… those earthen walls possessed the power to seal space-time, preventing any passage.
The only opening… was deliberately left in the sky…
But there stood a little girl who looked more like a wind demon.
In the blink of an eye, Eleri appeared in the sky beside Awel.
"Hehehe… GO!"
The Bone Whip roared as she attacked.
Now, there was no escape route.
Awel once again moved all her wind power, combining it with the freezing power of the whip to make the attack advance even faster.
"FUCK!"
Everyone felt extreme danger and attacked the earthen walls with everything they had. But unfortunately… thanks to Ailik, the Void power in their bodies was almost completely frozen, drastically weakening them.
Even using all their strength, they couldn't even scratch the walls.
"Sinister little girl…," Niara murmured, a faint smile on her lips.
That had been a coordinated trap, planned and trained by Awel together with everyone. She hadn't expected those figures to be so arrogant as to attack them head-on, all together, with everything they had. The moment they did that, escaping became extremely difficult.
"NO!"
*BOOOOM!*
The whip exploded at the center of them all, creating a freezing supernova.
Most of them endured it, suffering severe injuries. But their bodies were almost completely frozen.
Then, Ramel appeared above everything and activated his devouring power to the maximum.
*Wooooooooosh!*
"AAAAAH!"
Screams of horror and panic echoed as everyone felt their bodies being rapidly pulled upward.
The Emperor, who saw everything unfold in less than ten seconds, snapped out of his daze.
"STOP!"
He moved.
But…
At the exact moment he acted, Darian also acted. He didn't care about burning a bit of chaos power and activated Chaos Blink.
Darian and Niara appeared behind that man in white, with the immaculate aura.
Niara smiled and flapped her wings.
In that second, instinctively, the Emperor turned around in terror. But it was already too late.
**BANG!**
With a single punch, the sound of bones breaking echoed like thunder.
The Emperor was launched like a meteor of blood and smashed into the ground, creating a massive crater.
Alaric, who had been standing there in focused concentration, watching everything… now had his eyes completely wide open and his heart pounding.
What the hell was he witnessing?
