Damned Healer-Chapter 674: How Sneaky
During that month, Niara read memories and eliminated a few dozen figures inside that place. Because of that, Darian managed to get a good grasp of everything that existed there. Of course, a lot of information was still missing, but using what he already knew, he was able to connect the dots.
In short, back when the Celestial Shadow created this place, it hadn't been injured yet and had all of its strength available. So, it set up a massive inscription, burning its purest power to draw the Universe's Qi core to this location.
Only a Primordial Beast could do something on that level. But that was obviously against the Laws of the world. In any universe, if something like that happened, the Laws would try to kill the Primordial Beast with a devastating annihilation.
The Celestial Shadow wasn't stupid, so it did everything perfectly, creating the Cemetery using the blood and Bloodline of the other two beasts. Inside this place, the Laws of the world couldn't easily identify who was commanding everything.
It was a kind of cheat. After all, the Laws were a set of programmed rules, not something with true intelligence. Heaven's Will was the one in charge, but it couldn't attack directly if the Laws of the world failed to identify the culprit. It was like playing a game, finding a bug in the code, and exploiting it to the limit.
In the end, the Celestial Shadow succeeded, burying the Qi core at the bottom of this sea. But there was a huge problem.
If it, or any Risen connected to it, entered this region, the Laws of the world would identify it as the cause. Because of that, after being reborn, it allowed some traitors to come to this place and search for that treasure in the Qi ocean.
Those people could only search from afar, since their senses couldn't reach very far, and the Mannaz couldn't endure emerging deep within this sea.
Since the ocean was thousands of meters deep, and ordinary Spiritual Guardians couldn't separate too far from their Summoners, they searched in the hardest way possible, combing through a very limited area. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
Back to the present moment, nearly a hundred thousand Spiritual Guardians and their partners were searching inside. But the Universe's Qi core wasn't the only good thing they could find.
In that ocean, they could also find crystals of pure, concentrated Qi. Each small crystal was absurdly rare to find, but if they were lucky… they would have access to a secret weapon of pure power, with countless uses.
That was exactly the kind of crystal the man in white robes took out.
With a gesture, the man made the Qi crystal gently fly toward the 'divine diagram', making it land on one of the runes engraved on it.
Darian had Niara create that thing. It was just an object they found in the spatial ring of a dead Mannaz. She used her own primordial power to coat it, making it easy to believe it was something made by the Celestial Shadow.
After that, she added mental power, creating fake sealing runes to make it look like a sealed supreme treasure. Since it was something anomalous and unnatural, it could only be the Universe's Qi core.
The man in white wouldn't be crazy enough to force it open, so he had to open the seal naturally to store it. Because of that, he started doing some tests.
'Open one of them,' Darian said lightly to Niara.
As the Qi crystal approached, the sealing rune on the diagram blurred for a moment, revealing a small groove. With flawless precision, the crystal merged into that groove, causing that section of the diagram to go dark.
"That's it!" The man waved excitedly. He had 'figured out' how to open it.
It was a nice show. But the truth… was that the object simply stored the crystal inside, since it had a small internal space of its own, like a spatial ring.
'Good job,' Darian murmured. Niara did exactly as he had explained earlier and, as always, she could pull anything off without even practicing much.
'Did he really fall for that? Is he stupid?' Niara found it funny, but hard to believe. Her style was more direct and provocative. Darian, on the other hand, sometimes set up things that looked strange to her.
The man in white was someone very influential, so he shouldn't be that foolish. How could he fall for such a trick?
Darian explained in a mocking tone, 'He's not dumb. But because he's someone important and arrogant, and still got ordered to stay in this dead place for over five years without finding anything… he was furious and wanted to leave as fast as possible. Now that we gave him a reason to believe, his greed took over, and he didn't bother thinking too hard.'
'Hehe… how sneaky…' Niara murmured with an amused smile.
At that moment, the man in white was taking out one Qi crystal after another and inserting them into the divine diagram, like a child putting together a puzzle.
As the runes on the diagram faded away, he grew more and more excited.
'That bastard! He was killing people and stealing from them?' Niara muttered coldly. Being lucky enough to find a few was possible, but having dozens was a clear sign of his actions.
The man in white sent many crystals in rapid succession.
Before long, he had 'managed' to erase almost all of the runes, leaving only half a dozen, which Darian told Niara not to erase so easily.
At that moment, the man in white was radiant, certain that he was just a little bit away from success.
After putting in a few more dozen crystals, he waited anxiously for the grand prize, his gaze fixed on the last three runes of the diagram. However, those final three were incredibly difficult. He could feel that he needed many more crystals.
He ground his teeth. He didn't have much left, so he would have to do something to get what he wanted.
Seeing his stunned and worried expression, Niara found the situation so funny that she almost shed tears while holding back her laughter.
It was always fun to mess with idiots, and now, he was saving them a lot of time by handing over all his crystals. Even better: he would help them get the maximum possible profit.
The man in white robes clenched his teeth even harder, his frustration growing as practically all of his crystals were placed and vanished. Even so, the three runes remained, without any sign of fading.
Darian felt that this was the perfect moment to give him hope.
As a result, the next crystal he inserted made one of the runes tremble and fade away.
Beside him, the Summoner, overflowing with excitement, shouted, "Two left! We're about to get it, fuck!"
"Sir, we brought all the accumulated crystals!" At that moment, a group of hundreds of Spiritual Guardians and Summoners appeared together.
Those crystals had been obtained by killing many figures scattered throughout the place over the past years. It was everything that man's servants had.
He took the spatial ring, saw that there were almost forty crystals inside. He nodded in satisfaction and didn't hesitate to put them all into the diagram.
In the end… the second rune faded.
When that happened, the dumb face of the man in white robes instantly turned into a radiant smile. Only one left!
He suddenly shouted, "Everyone, split up and contact every person in this small world. Trade with them for every crystal they have. You can offer all the resources we've gained to the Celestial Master and even tell them I'll owe them a favor. Get every crystal they have!"
Those people nodded and turned around, running off in all directions.
A few minutes later.
At the same time that man asked for the crystals, he also indirectly informed all the most powerful ones that he had found what everyone wanted to find. After all, why else would he be willing to go that far to get them?
So… at a great distance from the place, a dozen figures, all of them the most influential and important, found him and observed from afar.
Niara was quite satisfied. After all, that place was huge, and if she had to search for and hunt all of them, having to return to the start every two hours to recover her energy, it would take years. Now, Darian had found a way to gather all the main ones together.
And also…
Darian's senses focused on a place to the north. There, he felt a presence that made his expression change.
