Damned Healer-Chapter 689: Gratitude And Respect
After the destruction of the capital of the planet Grandmist, Darian ordered everyone in his army to move and support the other planets.
Even though a universe is something immense in theory, the Universe of Heaven’s Will only had 321 planets with Spiritual Guardians. There were a few dozen planets with plants and very primitive life forms, but since the whole universe was scarce in life and had no natural power at all, it wasn’t worth populating or going to those places for anything.
The only places that truly mattered to the Spiritual Guardians were their native planets, because that’s where they built inscriptions with countless resources, turning them into places with power.
In other words, the job of Darian’s army was much simpler. They just had to attack the nearly two hundred planets allied with the enemies and completely dominate them.
After the military victory, thankfully, the rest was much easier. After all, there were countless types of Artifacts, as well as Techniques or Blessings that could prevent survivors from lying or hiding anything. Everyone would be forced to follow the new rules and leaders, or die.
In universes with power, life was a thousand times more dangerous, but at the same time, people were more transparent. It was very hard to deceive or lie to someone.
...
Three hours after the army’s attack,
Darian moved silently to one of the planets that had already been conquered. He and Niara were the only ones on the flying boat, and both were using a disguise for their aura and faces.
Countless other flying boats were entering that planet as well.
Almost all of his army that had attacked this place had already left; only then did these people feel confident enough to come. This was Darian’s order, because every hour in this universe meant a lot in the other one; so they had to do everything perfectly in the shortest time possible.
As they approached the ground, countless figures jumped off the boats filled with killing intent.
"Holy shit, those bastards tormented us for so many years. It’s time we get some compensation!"
"Grab whatever you can!"
"And that’s not all, don’t forget to wipe out all those bastards while you still can!"
The Spiritual Guardians from weaker planets attacked the people of the planets that hadn’t fallen in battle.
These Spiritual Guardians came from planets that weren’t allied with Darian. Technically, they were part of the enemy Alliance. But they were so weak and mediocre that they were only used by the enemies and had no real combat strength or loyalty at all.
Darian didn’t even consider attacking them, since they were irrelevant. After everything was done, he would just send people to evaluate them and make sure they would obey.
There were fewer than fifty planets in that situation. They had always been oppressed and treated like trash by those above them. Throughout history, countless injustices and deaths had happened, and they couldn’t do much except endure them. Because of that, even though they were technically allies, their hatred was immeasurable.
"Kill!"
The Spiritual Guardians from outside unleashed a massacre against the survivors. They weren’t doing it for treasures, but for retribution.
Everyone who was even slightly known in a negative way on this planet, or on many others that had been taken down, was suddenly swallowed once again by the sounds of battle.
Of course, Darian wouldn’t let them kill even the innocent, so he ordered a few people from his army to remain on the planets, to watch and intervene if that happened.
Darian had already imagined something like this would happen. So he used the hatred these smaller planets had accumulated, making them work in his favor, burning everything down automatically.
From atop the seaplane, Niara shook her head as she watched the chaos and flames engulfing the cities. Seeing her serious expression, Darian murmured softly:
"Unfortunately, this is a very common mistake in any universe. People must understand gratitude when they’re weak and respect when they’re strong. Those bastards thought nothing would ever happen to them, so they acted in an authoritarian way. Sometimes, leaving an exit for others also means leaving an exit for yourself in the future."
With Ailik’s quick investigation into the souls of the two demons, Darian had already learned about some recent outrageous acts committed on those weaker planets.
To help create three perfect bodies for the Spiritual Sovereigns, many lives from those places had been used. That was just something recent; imagine what must have happened over the centuries.
So their destruction today was payback for all of that.
Hearing this, Niara nodded slightly. Power in the hands of a single group tended to create situations like this. In the future, when they had to reorganize their universe, they needed to establish a proper balance of power and resources, so nothing would ever remain in a single hand. Otherwise, people like that would be born in droves.
Their flying boat moved to a distant place on that planet. It was the north pole of that world, a completely deserted and frozen region.
After landing, Ailik indicated the exact spot, and Darian tore open the space ahead, revealing an entrance. It had been perfectly hidden, in a way that made it completely impossible for anyone to find unless they already knew about it.
That was the core of this planet’s power inscription. Inside, there was a small space, only a few meters wide. At the back... 12 weapons were gathered together, sealed by countless artifacts.
Niara’s eyes lit up; they were the sacred weapons of her universe.
Darian analyzed them briefly. All of them were completely drained and dry, to the point they looked like ordinary weapons. From the memories of the two demons, everything inside them had been extracted to the absolute limit to help nourish the new bodies of those three.
After consuming every last drop, they sealed them inside this planet’s inscription, since they would recover on their own after a few million years.
Darian took a deep breath and stored them away. His main objective had been successfully completed.
With the memories of those two demons, almost no important location or hidden thing left behind by the three would be missed. Within a few hours, practically all the enemies’ roots in this universe would be cut off.
---
A few hours later. On Earth.
Darian, who had been focused on reading through the information, suddenly opened his eyes.
His entire army returned in a hurry. It took exactly six hours to finish everything. More than three months had passed in the other universe, so everyone was eager to return.
Darian selected a few trusted people on Earth and handed them everything Ailik had obtained. These people, together with Beleth and all the Immortal Keepers, would keep watch over several places in the universe. They would serve as the universe’s sentinels. Meanwhile, Darian and his army would be busy with something even greater.
Without delay, Niara opened the spatial channel.
When everyone returned, they sighed in relief, seeing that everything was exactly as they had left it. The Celestial Shadow hadn’t done anything out of the ordinary.
"We don’t have time to waste." Darian’s voice rang out loudly to everyone.
"Rest for two days. After that, we’ll split up and remove all of the Celestial Shadow’s influence in this universe. Without that, even if we attack the galaxy, there’s a chance he’ll escape using the common Risen. He hasn’t moved so far, so we’ll take advantage of this opportunity. In at most two years, we’ll complete the most important mission that Heaven’s Will gave to all Spiritual Guardians: we will save this universe completely."
Darian’s words echoed in everyone’s minds, leaving them both excited and thoughtful.
How many galaxies taken over by Risen existed in this universe? How many Risen would they have to kill to truly accomplish that goal?
Were they really going to clean everything up in just two years? It sounded impossible.
But Darian’s eyes radiated confidence. Not a single person doubted his words for even a second.
After speaking, Darian quickly turned and moved, as if he were looking for someone.
