Chapter 152: A Dream Come True

"Now, time to end this battle," he said, his voice laced with conviction.

The devil boy gritted his teeth, his expression tense.

"F*ck! What is this? Light magic? Are you a priest?" The devil boy’s tone was tinged with confusion and anger.

"No, but I have a connection to the light magic, and I can use its power," Ren explained, a smirk on his face.

"Well, no matter, I can just absorb it and turn it into my magic," the devil boy sneered.

"Really? Then, why don’t you try it?" Ren challenged.

The devil boy glared at him, his gaze burning with anger, "Enough, now die."

And with that, the devil boy raised his hand, a dark purple glow emanating from his palm meanwhile his body was still covered by a black aura, which was burning intensely.

Ren could feel the malevolent energy emanating from the devil boy’s attack, the dark, corruptive power seeking to consume and destroy.

He could sense the danger, the threat to his very existence. But, he did not back down.

"Hmph," Ren scoffed, his expression resolute.

With a determined look, Ren also raised his palm forward, a brilliant light emanating from his palm.

’The light magic is one of the purest and strongest magics. It can destroy and purify anything.’

’But man...’

’I don’t know how to use it, yet. I don’t even know the basics, and now I am going to have a battle with a monster that can absorb my magic and can turn it twice stronger.’

’I hope I can save the princess with this.’

And with that thought in mind, Ren channeled all his power into the light magic, the light growing brighter and brighter, illuminating the entire room.

"Here I go," Ren said, his tone filled with determination.

He twisted his fingers of the palm which he was holding up and a beam of light shot out from the tip of his fingers, heading straight toward the devil boy.

The devil boy sneered and thrust his hand forward, the dark purple wind blast colliding with the beam of light.

A cacophony of light and darkness echoed throughout the room as the two magics clashed, the energies fighting for dominance.

Ren gritted his teeth, his body trembling as he struggled to maintain his attack.

The beam of light and darkness were evenly matched, the power of both magics canceling each other out.

"Urrg," Ren groaned, his eyes filled with desperation. ’Dammit, he is too strong for a child.’

On the other hand, The devil boy’s expression was tense, beads of sweat trickling down his forehead as he poured more power into his counterattack.

The two magics continued their clash, their respective wielders engaged in a battle of wills and magic.

The stalemate lasted for what seemed like an eternity, with neither side giving in.

But then...

"Urrrg!" Ren groaned, his expression pained as his beam of light began to falter, the dark purple wind blast gaining the upper hand.

’No, I can’t lose!’ Ren thought, his gaze filled with determination. ’I have to—’

As Ren was focusing his attention on his light magic, he heard a faint whisper in his ear, cutting his thoughts short.

"You can do it, little brother," it was his sister’s voice, her tone encouraging. "Don’t give up."

Ren’s eyes widened, the feminine voice resonating within him, filling him with renewed vigor.

"Sis?" Ren whispered, his voice barely audible.

"Yes," Suddenly, a light appeared at his back, it was his sister, who was standing behind him.

Her arms were wrapped around his shoulders, and she was smiling.

"You can do it," the white light, his sister said, her voice soothing.

"Here, I will give you my light to help you." She raised her palm, and a small ray of light appeared.

"Take it," she said, her tone encouraging.

’No, sis I can’t. I want to defeat him on my own. If not then how am I going to get stronger than my brother? The one who killed you? How am I going to defeat him?’

’This is my fight, sis. I have to do this on my own.’

"Ren, my little brother." His sister sounded sad, "You know that it was a mistake, right? He didn’t actually kill me. And he is also suffering because of the guilt."

"I know," Ren muttered, his voice laced with regret. ’But I just can’t forgive him for it. You two were my only family but that day all of it shattered. My life became a living hell and now...’

"I understand," his sister said, her tone understanding. "But please, give him a chance. He is not a bad person, you know that."

Ren didn’t say anything, he fixed his gaze on the devil boy again.

’Wait!’

"What?!"

He saw that the devil boy was lying unconscious on the ground, and there was no dark purple magic anymore.

"Heh? If he is on the ground and his magic has disappeared then what is your magic hitting?" His sister asked, a hint of surprise in her tone.

"A, huh, yeah you’re right," Ren mumbled, his expression puzzled.

Suddenly, he noticed his light beam get smaller in size. It was as if there was someone at the other edge of the beam walking closer to him.

’Who is it now?’ Ren was confused.

"Wait," his sister gasped, her voice filled with shock. "The princess isn’t where she was before."

’Oh, shit!’ Ren cursed, his gaze filled with realization. ’Don’t tell me...’

And the next moment, his light beam disappeared, revealing the princess who was standing in front of him, her black eyes had turned green and were shining brightly.

Her whole body was shining with a green aura, and it was emitting a strange feeling, the feeling of a divine being.

"You are Ren, Rufus brother, right?" Princess Alisa asked, her tone polite.

"Eh?" Ren was shocked. ’T-the princess I have dreamt of since childhood is talking to me?!’

’I might go crazy.’

"Hey Ren, answer her otherwise you are dead." His sister reminded him, her voice stern.

"Huh? Oh! Yes, Your Highness," Ren managed to mutter, he bowed his head but his gaze was still locked onto the princess, her shining green eyes, her silver hair with crimson streaks, her pale skin, everything about her was beautiful.

’She looks so gorgeous. Like an angel, fallen from the sky.’ Ren couldn’t help but admire her beauty, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.

"So, did you come to save me?" The princess asked, her expression curious.

The green aura surrounding her body disappeared, and her eye went back to its original color.

"Ah, yes your highness," Ren replied, his tone nervous.

’Why am I acting so nervously? Is it because the girl I have been in love with since childhood is in front of me? Or because she is a princess and I’m a mere knight in training? Ren took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down.

"I see," the princess said, her soft and sweet voice filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Ren."

Ren’s heart skipped a beat, the sound of his name on her lips was enough to send his mind into overdrive. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"Ah, y-you’re welcome," he stammered, his face flushed with embarrassment.

"So, should we head back Ren?" Princess Alisa suggested a smile on her face.

"Huh?" Ren’s eyes widened, his heart hammering against his chest.

The Elven princess was looking at him with a gentle smile on her face, her green eyes filled with warmth and kindness.

’Why is she looking at me with such an expression? Is it because I’m so handsome that she is falling for me? Wait, that’s stupid. She doesn’t even know me that much.’

’Or does she?’

"Hmm, Hello?" Alisa waved her hands in front of his face, trying to get his attention.

"O-Oh! Yes, Your Highness," Ren mumbled, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"You said you came to save me, right?"

"Oh, y-yeah," Ren managed to say, his mind still reeling from the sudden turn of events.

"Well, then let’s go," the princess said, her tone light and cheerful.

"Ah, o-okay," Ren replied, his voice barely audible.

As Princess Alisa started to walk out of the dimly lit room with Ren following behind, the atmosphere became more relaxed. Ren’s heart was still racing, and he found it difficult to focus with the princess by his side.

However, as they made their way through the castle, a sudden thought crossed his mind, and he couldn’t help but wonder.

’Sis,’ Ren asked his sister in his mind, ’Princess didn’t see you? Am I the only one who can see you?’

His sister, who had come to him from time to time as a comforting presence, had never appeared when there were others around. This realization left him both perplexed and intrigued. He decided to seek some answers from his sister.

"No, she can’t," his sister’s voice echoed in his mind. "No one can see me except you and Rufus."

’Oh, that’s a relief,’ Ren sighed, a slight smile tugging at his lips.

’I feel like the luckiest elf in the whole world looking at the Princess walking beside me, I mean walking in front of me on a beautiful night. Hah... This is a dream come true for me, isn’t it?’

’If only this night won’t end, then I could be with her forever.’

Meanwhile, Elven Princess Alisa was thinking about something as she kept walking.

’That woman figure behind Ren. Who was she? I got a glimpse of her before I turned my eyes back to its original color.’
