Death… And Me-Chapter 4159: Beelzebub’s Investigation
After Beelzebub explained his plan, the twins’ group reached a decision. "Alright. In that case, we will have Celis and Kentucky staying in the Werdlem Universe. With the Soul Connection Range covering the entire Great Void, we can simply enter the Dimensional Realm and come out by their side in the Werdlem Universe again."
Celis thought that to be the best. "Indeed. Well, you might not need to do that in the end if Beelzebub’s idea works."
"It won’t be that big of a problem even if it doesn’t. At most, we will waste a year or two," Roan commented. "Sister Orb, can you stop it?"
[I can,] Sister Orb confirmed. [I’ll keep it on standby, and I will activate it once you give me the green light.]
"Good!" Rean and Roan nodded. "Then it will be the two of us only."
The twins touched the Control Orb, and the upgrade list appeared.

The twins quickly selected the A1 Universe again.
[Destination acquired. Initiating transfer.]
Everything blurred around Rean and Roan, and by the time it came back to normal, they were once again in the Military Academy. They didn’t waste time there, of course. They left in a hurry, without catching anyone’s attention.
From there, they selected a specific location very close to the center of the Divine Realm. They had to do it since any other location would make their plan take way too long to work. Then, they created a concealed place where they wouldn’t be found. Well, it was just a cave deep underground with several concealing formations made by Rean.
"It might not be the first time, but it still feels somewhat wrong to simply die..." Rean commented.
Roan already materialized his Crystal Void Scythes. "Stop speaking nonsense and let’s do it."
"Sigh..." Rean nodded and materialized his Crystal Void Swords as well. Then... they attacked each other.
They didn’t defend, didn’t move, didn’t heal. They simply used Rean’s Light Element to numb any feelings of pain and destroyed each other’s bodies. At some point, they couldn’t even hold their Crystal Void Intent Weapons anymore and used their Divine Senses and Sky Energy to control them.
What was Beelzebub’s plan? To die, obviously! To understand that, we need to go back a little, to the time they were talking through the Werdlem Network.
"What do you mean by dying?" Rean asked him.
On the other side, Beelzebub explained. -I went to check the Reincarnation Path of A7. After all, I’m a Soul Devil, and I might need to make a quick stop there to recharge my energies.-
He continued. -There wasn’t much protection around there, which makes sense. Since there is no Reincarnation, the only thing the Universe must be careful about is the birth of rampant Soul Devils. So, I took the chance to enter the Reincarnation Path for a moment.-
"You did what?!" Rean and Roan were taken aback. "Weren’t your souls taken from you once you got inside? Any souls that enter the Reincarnation Path can’t exit anymore. They either Reincarnate or get recycled for their soul energy. If you at least had a real body like Roan and I, then you could come back, but you are basically a huge agglomeration of dead souls, no?"
-Exactly,- Beelzebub agreed with them. -However, that was only the case for Universes outside the Werdlem Empire. You told me before that the reincarnation and recycling of souls don’t happen here. Also, I prepared countermeasures in case I truly got stuck inside, but they turned out to be unnecessary since I later easily exited.-
Rean and Roan looked at each other. The others who were hearing were also curious. "So... what did you find?"
-Nothing,- Beelzebub said. -The place is absolutely empty.-
"What about the river of forgetfulness?" Roan asked. The Reincarnation Paths had entities that looked like rivers that wiped out all the memories of dead souls. Of course, it wasn’t an actual river; that was just the name. Unless you branded your soul, something only high-level experts could do, you wouldn’t remember anything in your next life. However, this process didn’t work in the Werdlem Empire.
-The portal was there, but I didn’t dive into it. There was no need since I already got the answer I needed,- Beelzebub said as he remembered his time in there.
-I entered the Reincarnation Path to see what was happening to the Dead Souls. You were right when you said that they didn’t go through the process of Reincarnation. They truly disappear shortly after they enter that place. The souls simply couldn’t get all the way to the River of Forgetfulness.-
-That’s when I had an idea. I shielded a Dead Soul as soon as it entered the Reincarnation Path. As a Devil Soul, I know very well how to secure a Dead Soul against anything harmful. Then, as it was shielded, I was able to feel the pulling force that was trying to take it away. I got curious, as I couldn’t see anything around that could possibly be trying to take it.-
-So, I did the second-best thing. I simply pulled a tiny bit of my Soul Essence and put it inside that Dead Soul. Think about it as a Soul Flame. As long as the Dead Soul was alive, I would know it. That method also acted as a connection, very similar to what you guys have with your soul connection. I can always tell in which direction that fragment of my Soul Essence is.-
-Finally, I released the shield around that Dead Soul and let it go. As you probably can guess, it was instantly taken away, and the place became empty again. However, what surprised me was where that soul had gone.-
Beelzebub sent a few commands into his CD, sharing a Great Void Chart with the twins. It was the same Chart the twins gave to Beelzebub before they separated, in case Beelzebub needed it. The Chart even had the location of the Werdlem Universe now, which they got from Dofrei.
"This..." Rean, Roan, and the others finally understood. "It was taken to the Werdlem Universe?"
-Yes,- Beelzebub confirmed. -I could feel the environment around it as well. There is no doubt. That Dead Soul, as well as all the Dead Souls of the entire Werdlem Empire, always end inside the Reincarnation Path of the Werdlem Universe.-
