Aaron sighed, "Okay, what you said is right. If we leave, they could move the villagers, and that means whatever happens to them would be on us, but we can’t move against the bandits like this. We need a proper plan, or if anyone escapes, they would exact revenge on these villages when we leave or join another bandit group".

"All the damage that would happen if anyone escapes, that would certainly be on us, unlike with these villagers here. So, what I propose is, let’s find a place from where we can observe these bandits, and if they try to move the villagers, we act. In the meantime, let’s try to come up with a plan".

The girls thought for a second before agreeing to his proposal. If they attack in this state without a proper plan, the bandits might kill the prisoners, and their deaths would be on the three; no, that burden would be on the two, as Aaron wanted to observe the bandits before making a move.

Each ways have merits and demerits.

If the trio left and if the bandits moved the villagers at night, then it would be a loss.

If they move before they are ready with a proper plan, or in peak state, then the bandits would get a chance to escape and can make even more evil things later in the future, or they might kill the villagers who were imprisoned at the moment.

So, the two agreed with Aaron and decided to watch the base from a distance where it would be easy for the trio to watch while it would be difficult for the bandits to find them.

Luckily, while they were searching for the secret exits, the trio stumbled upon a few caves to settle down if one was stuck in the wilds for the night.

One such place was at the top of a mountain opposite the main base entrance, which they decided to use as a resting place and also as a place to keep an eye on the bandits.

---

Aaron went out and found some rabbits and deer for dinner.

They collected some rations in the morning, but they ate them at noon. In fact, the rations provided by the village were supposed to be just for noon.

Even after eating those rations, they were still hungry.

Unlike the villagers who are weak and eat a low amount of food, the three don’t.

Aaron was already in Rank-3, and the other two were also near Rank-3. So the quality and quantity of food consumed by them increased.

They already have to eat the low-level food the previous night and during the day. They were very hungry, and Aaron knew that. So, he hunted a few more to be sure, and he was right to do so.

When he cooked and served them, the girls ate a lot. He has never seen a girl eat like that.

He understood that when hunger is high, manners don’t matter and he would disappear into the void.

"It’s good that I brought more than I originally thought", Aaron thought.

If he had brought less, then the two girls might have eaten everything without leaving anything for him, which would have made him go on a hunt again just for himself, which he didn’t want to after going through what he went through the day before.

All day long, he was searching, walking across the mountains. Now he wanted to rest for a while, not search for more prey.

Burp!

Burp!

While Aaron was thinking of getting some rest after eating, he heard burping noises, but he didn’t make them, which means they came from the girls.

When he looked at them, they avoided his eyes, but eventually they had to accept what happened.

"That never happened, and if anyone finds out about that, hmph", Erika warned Aaron.

Aaron, who wanted to make fun of the girls, decided to stand down.

Instead, he said, "Ah, since we are done eating, I will take the first watch, while you can rest for a while", and walked away to the edge and found a place to get the best angle to watch what was happening at the bandit base.

Diana, on the other hand, smiled and said nothing. Without any intervention from her side, a crisis was averted. So, there was no need to say anything.

The girls went to rest for a while, as it would be soon their turn to watch the bandit camp. If they were still sleepy at the time, they might miss out on anything important that happens.

---

The night was calm at first and the trio thought nothing would happen, but they were wrong as a few hours into into night, a commotion started.

The commotion attracted the trio.

It was Erika who was taking the watch at the time, and when she saw the commotion, she woke the other two.

The trio understood that something bad might be happening and decided to have a closer look. Within a minute or less, they arrived at a safe distance to watch, but not get spotted by the patrolling bandits.

It was then they saw the movement, not just the movement of the bandits, but more than them, the prisoners and some newcomers that Aaron didn’t feel while he was perceiving the base.

"They are moving the villagers", Diana said.

It was her fear that the villagers might be moved at night that kept them here, or else they might have been in the village sleeping.

"It seems so, and some of the people there are not the bandits", Aaron revealed the matter.

"If they are not bandits, then they are slavers", Erika said.

Aason sighed, "It looks like we have to make a move, but let’s watch for a little while and see what happens. Depending on what happens, we will make our move".

The girls nodded, agreeing with Aaron.

If they barge in now, a lot of them could escape. Worse, they can kill many villagers before they escape, and they can keep harassing the villages again in the future.

None of these is good for the region or its people. So, they decided to be passive for the moment but prepared for whatever comes next.
