Aaron was summoned to appear before the City Guard Commander and a council at the HQ. He didn’t understand why he was summoned, by still he answered the summons.

He thought it might be associated with the man he stopped from completing the ritual. Though he had informed them what had happened, he skipped a lot, gave them some false scenarios.

"Maybe they felt that something was wrong with what I reported, and wanted to verify it again. Good thing I recorded what I informed them. As long as I recite that to them, I would be golden. Oh, yeah, I need to rearrange some sentences. Use different words than before to make it appear more genuine", Aaron thought to himself as he appeared at the HQ.

What he reported was not what happened. He altered a lot of details of what happened. It was only possible because he was alone with that man when that happened.

Aaron ended the life of the man from the cult to keep what happened a secret. He couldn’t let what happened there leak out, no matter what.

Two Days ago...The Day of Attack...

The man moved with purpose to end Aaron as quickly as possible.

The ritual was about to be completed, and before that happened, he needed to escape from this place. Before that, he wanted to get Aaron, alive or dead, as he would gain a lot of merits by catching him.

If that seems impossible, he would escape. He was not an idiot to die for his greed. He was cautious and would only show his greed when he was sure that the outcome would be in his favour.

If the situation appears out of his reach, he would abandon the idea of getting Aaron, but in order to escape, he needs to create a way out for himself.

At the moment, he was surrounded by the undead of Aaron on all sides.

Unless one has space skills that can be used for teleportation or items that work in a similar manner, they can’t escape this situation. He has no such advantages at the moment.

There is a Telportation Channel awaiting him and other members of the organisation, but it was present elsewhere.

This channel was supposed to be their way out of the city as soon as the ritual was done. Though the members are people who want to kill others, they are not ones that are ready to die.

Also, the organisations can’t let their members die without a proper reason or else, many would defect. That would be bad for their survival.

So, a way out was present, but the reason why it was in another place was that they were afraid.

The moment the sacrifices were started, the city would be alarmed and would search every point in the affected place. They would sooner or later find the ritual site, as the site couldn’t be far away from where the sacrifices were made.

When the alliance dogs inevitably find the ritual site, if the escape site was near that, they could use that as a launch pad to attack the organisation where the second point of the channel would be located.

One can just place it outside cities, but keeping such channels active outside of human control for a long time is dangerous, as it would attract monsters to their positions.

Teleportation channels are very new, and they need a lot of resources to create and maintain them.

There are two types of these channels, permanent and temporary.

The channel that the Hunters Guild used to travel to the Last Bastion Fort was a permanent one. A channel would be created and would be activated when needed, but to keep them stable, even in a passive state, some resources are burned.

Temporary Channels, on the other hand, are for one-time use. Once they are used, the energy sources would be removed, and they would destabilise and collapse.

What the organisation prepared was a temporary channel, as a permanent channel would create a way for the alliance to enter their operational areas.

The temporary one would continuously consume a lot of resources, which, if used in the wilds could attract monsters to their positions, which is not a good thing.

Also, a fight near space channels could destabilise space channels. So, opening them in the area where the fights were happening would be a stupid thing. A natural destabilising channel due to loss of energy to maintain was one thing, but destabilising the channel due to disturbance was another thing.

It would cause a lot of damage to the surrounding areas due to the destabilised space energy, which instead of going into the void would be spread at the point of disturbance.

It may be a perfect way to cause damage to the alliance as there was nothing that could stabilise a destabilised space channel and the damage is guaranteed, but to do that, the resources required are huge, and also the damage would happen within seconds and their agents would essential become suicide bombers by doing that.

No one would be willing to do that, especially in such an organisation that was built on greed.

Everyone wants benefits even if they did nothing, and no one would even think to do things that can benefit others based on their sacrifices. Even in the alliance that stands for justice, such people are very few.

The man needs to get to that spatial getaway that is placed for him and other members of the organisation, but with how things were going, it would be quite difficult, but not impossible.

Seeing that the fight was becoming difficult, Aaron wanted to summon his skeletons, but they couldn’t fit in a basement. The ten thousand ghosts are ethereal beings without physical bodies. Many occupied almost space, making it possible for many to be present in the area.
