Debuff Master-Chapter 822
Chapter 822
Siegfried charged into battle armed with his +15 Vanquisher’s Grasp and unleashed a barrage of attacks at Auriel, but…
“I’ll deal with you later.”
Auriel, cunning and composed, ignored Siegfried’s attacks entirely. Instead, he continued slaughtering the paladins even while taking hit after hit from the +15 Vanquisher’s Grasp.
The damage Siegfried dealt to him was so negligible that it was either zero or one. To make matters worse, he could not even knock back the archangel.
To Auriel, Siegfried was nothing more than an irritating fly buzzing around his head.
‘Damn it!’ Siegfried cursed inwardly after realizing the bitter truth.
Unlike the low-ranking angels, the archangel was on a completely different level, and there was nothing he could do against him.
Flash!
Out of sheer desperation, Siegfried activated Absolute Zero.
“You cannot harm me. There’s nothing you can do against me,” Auriel said with an air of authority as he withstood Absolute Zero as well.
The skill was not entirely ineffective, as Auriel furrowed his brow and grimaced slightly after feeling the chill to some extent. However, that was it.
Siegfried managed to kill a few low-ranking angels with the combination of Absolute Zero and Splitting Heaven and Earth, but that tactic was utterly useless against Auriel.
“Begone.”
Finally, Auriel swung his blade at Siegfried after finally being annoyed by his persistence.
Clang!
Auriel’s sword clashed with Siegfried’s +15 Vanquisher’s Grasp.
“Argh!”
The impact sent Siegfried flying, smashing through three trees before crashing into the ground.
“Time to pay the price of your sins,” Auriel said before massacring the paladins like a butcher getting to work.
“Argh!”
“Aaargh!”
Even with the debuff fields, the paladins were utterly helpless against Auriel. This was not surprising at all, as archangels were as powerful or even more powerful than a demon lord.
In terms of raw power, an archangel could single-handedly take on three or four ancient dragons. Even though Auriel had not descended in his true form, his stats were still nothing short of a calamity.
The archangel was on a completely different level entirely. He was an overwhelmingly powerful force—far beyond any enemy Siegfried had ever faced.
In other words, the archangel was a monster that defied the realms of what humans could achieve, and the mere thought of Auriel descending in his true form was horrifying beyond imagination.
‘Damn it! Just once! Let me use it just once! Please!’ Siegfried pleaded while struggling to his feet and pushed the Divine Power in his mana hall to its limits.
‘I’m not asking for a miracle! Just give me enough to fight! Help me, even just a little!’
Perhaps it was his desperate and earnest please, or perhaps the situation was dire enough to need a miracle, but…
Rumble!
The unresponsive divine power finally stirred, and it eventually awakened.
Wooong!
Siegfried’s mana wrapped itself around the divine power, and they fused together to form an immensely powerful energy.
‘It’s working!’
The combined energy surged throughout Siegfrie,d and he immediately activated Overclocking.
Crackle! Bzzt! Bzzt! Zap!
The combined energy made from Mana and Divine Power enveloped Siegfried, and they whirled until they formed a fierce storm of pure energy.
‘More!’ Siegfried pushed Overclocking to its second stage.
“Kyuuu! You can do it! Go, go, go! Owner punk!” Hamchi cried out while running on his magical hamster wheel to buff Siegfried.
Kwachik!

Siegfried gripped the +15 Vanquisher’s Grasp tightly and swung it with all of his might.
Baaam!
The weapon struck the side of Auriel’s head.
“Guh!”
The archangel’s head snapped to the side as blood gushed from his mouth.
Siegfried’s combined Mana and Divine Power coupled with Hamchi’s buff had finally allowed him to inflict damage on the archangel.
‘Now!’
Seizing the moment, Siegfried followed up with Machine Gun Smash and focused all of his attacks solely on Auriel’s head.
Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!
Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam…!
The +15 Vanquisher’s Grasp hammered Auriel’s skull like a rapid-fire cannon.
“Guh!” Auriel gasped and spat out more blood after taking the relentless barrage of attacks straight to his face.
‘I have to kill him now!’ Siegfried thought.
Riding the momentum, he transformed his +15 Vanquisher’s Grasp into a saber and used Quick Draw at the archangel’s neck.
Sukeok!
In an instant, Siegfried swung his weapon, aiming to sever the archangel's head cleanly.
Swiiish!
Just as it made contact, Auriel’s hand shot up like a bolt of lightning, gripping the weapon tightly.
“You insolent insect…” Auriel growled menacingly. Then, he glared with intense fury and continued, “You dare challenge me, the Archangel, Auriel…?”
“Argh!” Siegfried groaned, trying to free the weapon from the archangel’s grasp.
“How… DARE YOU!”
A shockwave erupted from Auriel’s body.
The sheer force of the shockwave shattered Siegfried’s Super Armor buff as if it were nothing.
“Guhhh!”
Siegfried was flung far into the distance and crashed into the ground once more.
[Alert: Warning! Warning!]
[Alert: Internal injury detected!]
[Alert: Your body’s energy circulation has been severely restricted due to an internal injury!]
[Alert: Heal the injury immediately!]
[Alert: Continued strain on your mana hall may cause its destruction!]
Auriel’s shockwave had wreaked havoc even within Siegfried’s body, leaving him completely battered and incapacitated.
***
The situation took a turn for the worse.
Shakiro was incapacitated, the paladins were being slaughtered like livestock, and even Siegfried was blown away by a single shockwave and was severely injured despite using his Divine Power.
This was the power of an archangel.
They were the first intelligent beings created by the Creator and were entities that once managed the world a very long time ago. Thus, it was only natural for them to be this powerful.
“Be gone, all of you worthless trash,” Auriel growled.
The archangel was infuriated after getting struck in the face repeatedly by Siegfried, whom it deemed a mere worm, so it decided to unleash true carnage.
Shwaaaa!
A rain of swords descended from the heavens above, and tens of thousands of these radiant swords struck the paladins.
“Aaaargh!”
“Aaaack!”
“N-No! Noooo!”
The paladins were impaled. The radiant swords pierced them without mercy.
It was a complete massacre.
Not a single person was spared by the ruthless slaughter.
Mikhail collapsed to the ground, and his face was marred with despair as he muttered, “Why… Why must so many people die because of me…?”
He was already anguished by his lack of memories, so watching so many people be slaughtered just because of him was more than enough to drive him to the brink of insanity.
Meanwhile, Siegfried could barely move due to his injuries.
“Kyuuu! Are you okay, owner punk?!”
“No… I’m not okay… I can’t move…”
“Kyuuuu!”
“Damn it… I can’t even use my mana…”
His mana was not sealed or anything. It was just that whenever he tried to use mana and Divine Power simultaneously, he would feel stabbing pain as if needles were stabbing every inch of his body.
“I will make you suffer a fate far worse than death. I’ll tear you limb from limb and burn what’s left to ashes,” Auriel declared while striding toward Siegfried.
“Shit…” Siegfried cursed under his breath.
For the first time, he felt helpless and despair.
Auriel was an overwhelming force of nature that was not only unaffected by Siegfried’s debuffs but was almost invulnerable to his attacks. The archangel striding toward him was like an insurmountable mountain.
No opponent Siegfried had faced thus far had resisted his debuffs to such an extent, let alone rendered them meaningless.
The archangel was not just strong; his stats were simply absurd as well. Even upon receiving layers of debuffs, it was still hard to tell whether he was even being affected by those debuffs or not.
For someone like Siegfried, who had yet to step into the realm of a Master, facing an archangel whose strength rivaled or surpassed that of a demon lord was like throwing pebbles at a… tidal wave.
‘Am I going to die here?’ Siegfried wondered while watching Auriel approach him step by step. Ever since he became the Debuff Master, Siegfried had never felt such helplessness. He felt so helpless that he accepted his death.
To be fair, the fact that he was still alive was already remarkable.
“Your Majesty!” Metatron screamed and rushed toward him.
Thud! Thud! Crash!
Of course, thanks to his arthritis, he stumbled and fell flat on his face right in front of Siegfried.
“Ugh!”
“...What the hell are you doing?” Siegfried muttered with a mix of disbelief and irritation. Then, he said, “Get out of here. Don’t die along with me. I’ll revive anyway, but you won’t.”
“Your Majesty! Please grant me this opportunity!”
“Huh? What kind of opportunity are you talking about?”
“Let me face him!”
“You? You can barely walk because of your arthritis, and your herniated disc is so bad you’re always complaining. What chance do you think you have?”
Siegfried’s point was valid. Metatron was unfortunate enough to possess the body of an old sorcerer riddled with arthritis, a herniated disc, and a variety of other ailments that came with old age.
How could his feeble body hope to stand against Auriel?
The idea was so absurd that if Siegfried were like a pebble being thrown against a tidal wave, then Metatron would be like an egg smashing against a boulder.
***
“Your Majesty! I can take him on!”
However, Metatron seemed to have a plan.
“But how?”
“If you lend me the Avenger, I swear that I will smash that damn archangel into pieces!”
“Ah!”
Siegfried finally remembered that he was in possession of the Demonic Sword: Avenger, an artifact that belonged to Metatron’s father, the Demon Lord of the Seventh Domain.
However, Siegfried didn't trust the demon that easily.
“Hey, you’re not trying to take the sword and make a run for it, are you? You sneaky bastard! Are you seriously trying to take advantage of this situation just for your own–”
Metatron cut him off and exclaimed, “Your Majesty! I am bound to you by a slave contract! How could I possibly run away with the Avenger?!”
“Is that… true?”
“Your Majesty! I am the son of a Demon Lord! If we stand any chance against an archangel like Auriel, then we need someone of at least my caliber, an elite-level demon!”
There was some truth to Metatron's words. Historically, demons and angels were mortal enemies, just like oil and water, as the two of them could never mix. If anyone could harm an angel without divine power, then it would be a demon without a doubt.
“But if you run, you know what will happen, right?”
“I will not run, Your Majesty!”
“Fine. I’ll trust you this time.”
Reluctantly, Siegfried took out the Demonic Sword: Avenger from his inventory. Then, he glanced at Metatron and warned, “If you run, you’re dead meat. Got that? I’ll hunt you down until the end of the continent.”
“As you wish, Your Majesty.”
“Fine,” Siegfried said. Then, he extended the sword’s hilt to Metatron and commanded, “Go destroy that damned archangel.”
“Yes, Your Majesty!” Metatron replied enthusiastically before he grinned and firmly grasped the hilt of the Demonic Sword: Avenger.
Vwooooong!
The sword began to vibrate as if acknowledging its rightful master for the first time in a long while.
And then…
Fwoosh! Fwoooosh!
Dark blue flames erupted from the sword, engulfing Metatron in an instant.
“A-Argh! Aaaack!”
At first, Metatron writhed in agony after being overwhelmed by the surge of evil power pouring out of the Avenger. Soon, however, he stopped writhing in pain and became rather composed.
“Kehehe…”
A twisted smile curled across Metatron’s lips.
‘Wait, what?! Is that bastard going to betray me?!’ Siegfried panicked after witnessing the demon’s ominous smirk.
Fortunately, his fears were unfounded.
“How dare a lowly angel stand before me. Hehe…”
With the Avenger in hand, Metatron began walking toward Auriel. As he walked, his body swelled like an inflating balloon, tearing apart his clothes. The buttons popped off, and the fabric ripped as he transformed.
“You…!”
Auriel’s face darkened upon sensing the evil aura emanating from Metatron.
But it was too late…
Shwik! Shwik!
Before anyone could react, Metatron used the Avenger’s power to summon his true form.
