“It’s fine, don’t worry about me.”

Upon hearing this, Logan, seeing that the other person was unwilling to talk, found it pointless to keep pressing for an answer, so he stopped pursuing the matter.
A trace of scornful laughter surfaced on his face; wasn’t this just a case of pretending to be rich when he was actually poor?
Everyone’s eyes were fixed on the Furnace Cauldron, slowly waiting over time, eagerly anticipating what kind of Elixir the Alchemist Master Lee would produce, feeling the expectant gazes of the crowd.
Alchemist Master Lee became subconsciously nervous, thinking that as long as he didn’t make the situation too embarrassing, he would be fine. He nervously rubbed his hands together as his anxiety grew.
Before long, the Furnace Cauldron seemed about ready, and Alchemist Master Lee didn’t even dare to take out the Elixir he had concocted; he became panic-stricken.
...
Logan, however, kept encouraging the Alchemist Master verbally.
“Go take a look, see how the alchemy turned out. I feel like everyone’s quite looking forward to it, and I am too. Let’s see if the Johnson Family’s Alchemist is really that impressive.”
Right then, Alchemist Master Lee truly wanted to leave, but he knew he couldn’t escape from there.
He looked at the Furnace Cauldron, praying silently that the result had to be good.
Then he opened the Furnace Cauldron to check, and to his shock, without looking he wouldn’t have known, but upon looking he was horrified; the result of his alchemy was garbage.
The Elixir that had been produced was a murky lump and even emitted an astonishingly foul odor, which caused everyone to unconsciously cover their noses upon smelling it.
Some people even vomited on the spot. Everyone was puzzled—what was that odor? Alchemist Master Lee’s complexion turned unsightly to the extreme.
He had thrown many rare Herbal Medicines into the mix to be able to concoct a powerful Elixir.
But unexpectedly, he hadn’t controlled the fire well, and so he directly ruined the Elixir.
It was all because Logan had distracted him with his words earlier; otherwise, he surely would have been able to produce an Elixir.
He stared at the Furnace Cauldron, too embarrassed to show the results to everyone. Meanwhile, everyone else was still eagerly waiting, even Logan was starting to find the smell unbearable.
“Why is there a smell like some food has spoiled?”
Logan said with amusement.
Alchemist Master Lee knew it was the odor from the Elixir he had concocted.
But he was too embarrassed to say it out loud, and gradually, people realized it, pointing in his direction.
“This smell seems to be emanating from the Alchemist; it’s really strange, it wasn’t there just a moment ago.”
Alchemist Master Lee grew increasingly frantic; though the smell had made everyone hesitant, they still jostled to see Alchemist Master Lee’s alchemic results.
When everyone realized the smell was emanating from what he held in his hands, and that the result of his alchemy was terrible, putting on such a grand show only to produce a lump of murky mess.
Everyone sneered and laughed ironically. In an instant, Alchemist Master Lee felt as though he had lost all face; he knew this would be the outcome.
He wished he could find a hole to crawl into as he looked at the murky Elixir in his hands, knowing he had failed. He felt a surge of anger wash over him.
“It’s definitely because you distracted me with your talk just now; otherwise, how could I have produced such an Elixir? It can hardly even be called an Elixir, what a waste of such good materials.”
Alchemist Master Lee, feeling guilty, could only deflect blame in an attempt to salvage his dignity.
Still, nothing could fend off the ridicule in people’s voices as laughter echoed throughout the room.
“Alchemist Master Lee seemed so grandiose, appeared so formidable, yet his alchemy turned out to be trash, which is really unexpected.”
“It looks like Alchemist Master Lee isn’t up to par after all. Such a result from alchemy, not even as good as someone inexperienced, and why does the Elixir give off a foul smell?”
“Just now, Alchemist Master Lee looked quite serious, and I thought he knew how to do alchemy. After such a long time, it turns out he can’t at all, which is somewhat disappointing.”
…
Alchemist Master Lee felt his face burning with embarrassment, his anger rising subconsciously, but everyone still showed no sign of letting up.
Dwayne Johnson, upon seeing this, his brow throbbing with veins, gritted his teeth and spoke.
“It’s all right, it’s not your fault. After all, alchemy is very unpredictable; someone else might not have done any better. You can’t be blamed; everyone makes mistakes at times.”
Thus, Alchemist Lee only felt that he had regained a bit of face.
But he didn’t say much because there was nothing wrong with the venue itself; he was just making excuses for himself.
Dwayne Johnson continued to quibble.
“Humans make mistakes from time to time, it’s all normal. Let’s not be too demanding. We should stop nitpicking at Alchemist Lee. Otherwise, he might get angry.”
Everyone, led by them, didn’t dare say much. After all, no one dared to directly confront the Johnson Family.
However, everyone knew in their hearts that this was just an excuse from them, and they held them in even greater disdain.
Logan smiled and shook his head.
“Strange, I somehow feel that you are an Alchemist who doesn’t know how to forge elixirs.”
As he spoke, his gaze, sharp as an eagle’s, shot towards Alchemist Lee.
Unexpectedly, Logan voiced it out directly, and Dwayne Johnson instinctively stood by Alchemist Lee’s side.
“If you’re capable, then you do it, Logan. Go ahead and try, see if you can produce a good elixir. If not, then don’t instigate a fight here.”
Fearless, Logan had been waiting for these words. It was only by producing the elixir himself that they would acknowledge it was his work, and not that of some so-called third-rate Alchemist.
“Fine, I’ll give it a try. There certainly won’t be a problem; I’ll show you.”
He knew how to make elixirs, and his alchemy skills weren’t bad either.
If he didn’t know how to make elixirs, he wouldn’t have voluntarily taken up this challenge and caused trouble for himself.
Besides, the elixir he made for Ellie before proved he was no pretender.
Logan followed through the steps one by one, not missing any, while everyone watched intently, realizing that he seemed to really know how to make elixirs.
Everyone felt a tinge of confusion, especially after having just seen Alchemist Lee performing almost the same steps.
They kept a hint of doubt about Logan, whether he could actually make elixirs was still a question; the results had to be seen to know for sure.
After completing all the steps, Logan patiently awaited the outcome of the alchemy process.
Everyone held their breath in anticipation; Logan looked at the Furnace Cauldron with confidence, believing there would be no mistakes this time.
Some time later, the Furnace Cauldron finished producing the elixir, and everyone’s eyes were fixed on it, eager to see the level of Logan’s alchemy skills.
He took out his elixir, and all eyes followed closely; the next second, some people who understood alchemy showed signs of amazement.
No one expected Logan’s alchemy skills to be so remarkable.
Laypersons enjoy the spectacle, but experts appreciate the art. Several knowledgeable alchemists opened their mouths in disbelief, staring at the identical brown elixirs in Logan’s hand.
In an instant, he dazzled everyone, and they were all dumbfounded; Logan was indeed the most modest amongst them.
“Brother, you’re too incredible, to actually produce such an excellent elixir. It’s so impressive that it dazzles people, your alchemy skill is commendable!”
“Don’t judge this young man by his age; such achievements are truly impressive! He is someone worthy of respect!”
“He definitely stands out among his peers, no doubt a very impressive person. I think Ellie really found herself a good match this time.”
…
Everyone looked at Logan with admiration, not expecting his alchemy abilities to be so strong; they had indeed underestimated him before.
Ellie, hearing a word or two about herself mixed in, suddenly blushed. Her teeth tightly bit her lower lip, unsure of how to respond.
Yet her gaze carefully shifted towards Logan, observing his broad silhouette. Deep down in her heart, she felt immense gratitude and a desire to cry.
Logan had saved her more than once, and she had no idea how to repay him.
Moreover, with Logan being such a capable person, surely he wouldn’t have only her as a follower. What use would he have for her, a mere mortal?
The more she thought about it, the more inferior Ellie felt.
